I love the Navajo people and I find a beauty in them apart from other people and especially other tribes to some degree (I worked with many in Oklahoma, Utah, and AZ) but I never understand why, if they preach such a special appreciation for the land and those things, why they make no attempt to clean or beautify their houses or property. I understand they are also the poorest as a whole of all the civilized tribes, but things are getting better with the new casinos, and they have no rent or land payments, so why not clean and take care of YOUR land?
