    As someone who is trying to get in shape and hasn’t worked out in some time, this doesn’t seem very “beginner” friendly 😅

      Yeah im not technically a beginner (was varsity swim in high school) and after time away this seems daunting even to me who is still a pretty strong swimmer getting back in the swing. An hour (as of my first session back) gets me about 1200. I can't imagine a true beginner thinking this is an easy peasy set.

    Hi. Can you tell me where I can find the descriptions and details of the terminology of the different drills? Like, what exactly do they mean?

  • @fabgrz
    @fabgrz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    Just as an advice: why don’t you add swimming drills recommendations for each Set?.
    Because without any drills or techniques it’s just numbers put on a video.
    Each time I look for swimming plans I find the same numbers videos and no plan of drills/techniques recommended within the plan.
    Just my opinion.

      When someone gives you a workout and writes, for example, 100 drill, basically what that means is to choose a drill to do. There are so many different drills, but they all typically work on your technique. One drill that I typically choose is catch up, either 3/4 catch up, or what I call superman catchup. basically all you do for this drill, its freestyle btw, is instead of moving your arms right after another, you wait for one arm to get back into the water by your head, or almost to your head, before you move your other arm. And all that swim means is freestyle, so if someone writes 100 swim, usually it just means to do 100 freestyle

    These workouts are also good for seniors like myself (I'm 70). Having been out of the pool for almost a year because of COVID-19, I'll be starting all over again with more body weight and arthritis in the elbows. It'll be frustrating since I'd been swimming masters since I left college.

    I had a meet today and I was swimming the 200 free, and, like what seems to be every time I go off the blocks all of the sudden, my goggles came down. I didn't want to swim the entire 200 with my goggles down, so I decided to fix them, even though it meant /i would get a DQ. For my second race I was swimming the 100, and I thankfully decided to dive off the side so it wouldn't happen again, and my time was literally .2 of a second away from making the qualifying times for the junior olympics, and if I was able to go off the blocks with my goggles on, i would've made the time. So, I really need some tips on how to keep my goggles on. Sorry this is so long, but does anyone have any tips for me?

  • @evelynkrull5268

    I am confused as to how the 1st main makes sense. 8×50 as 25+25+100 adds up to a total of 150 (or 3×50) how does that add up to 8×50?
    Its been a while since I left swim team but im pretty sure that just doesn't make sense unless its not meant to be a split, its supposed to be a full 50 instead of 25?

    • @adamdvx1604
      @adamdvx1604 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think it's meant to read as 8 sets of: 25m drill + 25m swim (50m total), then 100m easy as the recovery. So the 8x50 is only referring to the 'working' part of each set.

  • @tormentoxx
