does anyone struggle with breathing lol? I cant take a breath in so end up just blowing bubbles all time and then I get more out of breath
do drills for breathing only.
Literally everyone faces that problem when they start swimming first just keep practicing in not too deep water and get comfortable with it
thank you! ive mastered breast stroke but need lessons for front crawl I think - I just kick my feet lol@@mazizi5446
Keep at it, this is part of the process. I had the same problem when getting back into swimming after many years, even though I used to be pretty decent as a kid (not competitive but I was swimming maybe once or twice a week). A month ago I struggled to do a 100 free without resting, now I do 400 no problem. It's all about technique, controlling your pace and not panicking. Your lungs will also get stronger as you swim more so it will get easier.
I can say I’m pretty good on swing I’m on pre team
I find breast stroke easy and natural. I'm so bad at the others. Freestyle looks effortless when others do it but I struggle so much with breathing, timing, and hips sinking. I like this narrator and great explanations
❤🎉😮❤
I learned front crawl last year as swim newbie. Since I have no one to practice with (just me and the pool) and no coaching, I memorize what I see on TH-cam and duplicate later. It was impossible at first because I had fear and no swim muscle. Once my body adapted to water, what the coaches said I could implement. I find breaststroke kick and timing easy to learn. It took me very little time to get. I do butterfly kick a few laps as warmup with hope to learn it later this year. Backstroke I can do but not well. Currently I do a couple of laps as cool down.
Keep it up. Same as myself. I am a beginner too
The same for me without any Coach just me, TH-cam and the pool👌
Ngl i just wanna learn butterfly just so people get out of my freaking way
I like the new coach(presenter of this channel). She speaks clear and fluid and make you feel like your personal trainer. You can tell that she knows how to teach. Very nice content from this channel.
I started swimming as little as age 5 I am now 66 years old and I am still swimming, but in the ocean 😊 I always love swimming, I do every style of swimming at my age, and people are amazed and ask me how I do it, but little do they know, is that, I swim for my sciatica pains, and it works😅, I swim 5 days a week ❤
Hello, I’m happy to read that it works for the sciatic pains . I have been living with this pain for 3 months now and I have started learning swimming. How much impact do you think it has to the sciatic and for how long should I keep swimming until it completely heals ? Thanks in advance for your feedback
Good for you
Today I did my first 100yard fly @1:19. Took everything I had. I hope to get down to one minute mark.
Nice job!!
Freestyle is my best stroke! Butterfly is my favorite. It takes so much power. Feels good!!
Breaststroke & Backstroke are my favorite style. Butterfly is the most difficult one.
Possibly my fav is breaststroke and butterfly, butterfly is very easy.
Very true, butterfly is very hard
Same I also like breast stroke and back stroke
As an advanced swimmer, Butterfly is easy but tiring. My fav stroke is Freestyle, then Breaststroke. I don't like Backstroke.
What a great video, everyone has strengths and weaknesses, I think it’s also important to have the correct pre swim nutrition and rest, I don’t swim on evenings because my body and muscles are too tight and tired after a 10 hour work day.
I have trained swimming for couple of years in high school. And now, ten years later, I am planning to start again. But not in a team, nor trainer, just solo. I remember having two and a half hour summer trainings where we did 5-7km almost non-stop. Now, after 100m I have a blackout lol. But, without a doubt I will be back on track. Love the water.
This is the information i was looking for.
Thank You.
Started swimming last summer and haven’t looked back ever since! This video is exactly what I needed to watch. Thank you for the tips definitely will be applying these in the pool today
Might be the best swimming tutorial on TH-cam. Love the details. I will be coming back to this!
It works for me: I am not perfect at each; but can do all the four: my amateur IM
Really helpful, Thank you 😊
Great job love the presentation
I do all four strokes. I also go back to my favourite as a kid where you swim a length but freestyle rotate back stroke rotate free style rotate back stroke etc.
Butterfly is My favorite 🦋 ❤️
That is really helpfull
Thank you
I've got a carnival tomorrow. This video has inspired me to participate like crazy! I'm a decent swimmer but some strokes definitely trip me up. But getting in that pool tomorrow will push me out of my comfort zone! this tips were very helpful :).
I love freestyle I have been practicing for some time but butterfly is not my thing I have mastered the other 3❤❤❤
Freestyle or front crawl. I really like butterfly it just looks 🆒
i love butterfly SOOOO much!
Your a good teacher 👍
My favorite was my weakest, fly.
Breast is frustrating, and least pleasurable to persevere in because of its odd intermittency. Back is joyous and relief (in extremis, air availability feels marvelous. Free feels pleasurably determined. I don't think there will ever be a distance fly.
Thanks ❤️👍
Mi favorites strokes are freestyle and backstroke 🏊🏿♂️🏊🏿♂️
Yay for having all body types!!!!!!
I wish a I could do all 4 . Especially the butterfly. But with my LS2-3 and cervical 4-6 destroyed from Rugby, I’m only allowed the crawl and backstroke because my head and body needs to be lateral. I cannot keep raising my head with breaststroke/ frog.
One of the best videos I have seen 😊
Thank you!
I had a comepetition today I tried to do rest stroke I did it wrong way but after that I watched people do it and next time I know how to do it!
I like freestyle, butterfly and breast strokes I know how to breathe in the water and it is kind of easy for me
And now I am learning butterfly stroke😊😊
The breaststroke which was my first to learn... It's my smoothest and fastest even though I swim the four styles.
Splendid , Wonderful , Marvelous , Excellent ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very interesting! My favorite stroke is freestyle!
butterfly is gangsta
Can you do videos on non-competitive strokes, like side stroke, elementary backstroke, dolphin kick, combat stroke, etc? I’d love to learn to swim like a lifeguard or a navy seal. 😊
Great suggestion!
Have been swimming breaststroke since 8 years old. I find EVA is irrelevant in breaststroke as it interrupts your momentum if you focus too much on it. Instead, try getting the head back into the water asap and work on a powerful frog kick because, unlike other strokes, you get over 80% of the speed from the kick.
On the contrary, I find knowing breaststroke well does not help with freestyle one iota. Freestyle is a completely foreign language to me, and I had to learn from the beginning when I tried to swim the stroke seriously four years ago. 😞
"knowing breaststroke well does not help with freestyle one iota". Agree completely. I too have been swimming breaststroke since I was a kid. (I'm now 60 plus). I can do 60 laps breaststroke of a 25 M pool without going out of breath. But doing anything more than 6 laps freestyle is a struggle. I go seriously out of breath and run out of steam. I'm tearing (what's left of) my hair out trying to figure what I'm doing wrong. Wish someone could give me tips.
Thank you for these wonderful lessons.
Glad you like them! Happy swimming :)
Your tips on breast stroke has helped me a lot. I was so slow when I started it, but following your tips and drills...now it's the stroke I am fastest in. Thanks
Keep up the great work!
I really struggle with my breath stroke can you make a video on getting it!?!?!
That's the best swim video I've ever seen!
So happy to hear that! Thanks for tuning in :)
I’m 13F competitive swimmer, and I’m the slowest in my team. I feel horrible because my teammates in my relay team have kept improving but I’m still super slow. Recently, there has been a new girl and because she’s faster than me, I’m bumped out of the relay team. I’m contemplating whether or not I should continue swimming. Here are my timings per 50m:
Free- 38s
Back-45s
Breast- (my least fav stroke) 58s
Fly- (one of my favs) 43s
I know I’m not fast, but I train for 2h 4 times a week and I just want to find any way I can to get faster so I can swim with my friends again. I’ve had some of my fav memories with them and they are my only friends. I rlly hope this helps me to cut down some time.
Hi Nadia! We recommend that you talk to your coach about your concerns. They can hopefully give you some specific, one-on-one feedback. For what it's worth, it's great to have goals, but getting faster and continuing to have fun don't always go hand-in-hand. Focus on your why before making a big decision :)
@myswimpro ❤️
Which ones will improve my surfing? Sounds like butterfly and freestyle
My favorite is freestyle is the best
First time learn swimming I think breaststroke really hard to learn,,but now breaststroke easier than four stroke😅😅
A testimony to your hard work! 👏
Thank you @myswimpro I watch your video before do practices
For me it was the opposite, used to find breast the easiest, now I dislike it because it feels so slow and awkward.
think you I have learnt all strokes
😍😄😄😄😄
i am a swimmer and i love swimming ❤❤❤
Freestyle or front crawl. I really like butterfly it just looks
Funny thing is I love butterfly but never master it. And I do swim since I was 6 ( I’m 36 now). It’s a shame I haven’t learned it properly so far, I’m doing only 3 stokes. But have to master it finally. I’m doing 4-5 times weekly swimming regularly and I miss that one stroke to make things more fun ❤
Fun, in Sweden we learn breaststroke first, then backstroke (mandatory in elementary school) crawl and butterfly can be learned in our freetime.
Most likely elementary school will accept either breaststroke, crawl or butterfly on "physical exam" day. But backstroke is mandatory for 50 meters. Then 150 m for any other swimstyle.
I'd like to learn the breaststroke lt looks easy and interesting 🤔
Learning swimming as an adult and struggling with breathing correctly, I find the back stroke the easiest for me bcz I don’t have to think too much about water, breathing , or drowning
Backstroke is by far my favorite, since my heart valves leak and I can breathe most easily on my back, so I have the most power. (I'm in my 60s)
so much knowledge in11 minutes, great! Still wondering when to STOP exhaling in free style, though
Glad you enjoyed the video! Some swimmers exhale underwater the entire time and then stop when they turn their head to breathe and inhale. Some swimmers exhale, hold their breath, then inhale when they turn to breathe. It's a personal preference!
One challenging thing about practicing butterfly is also how much space you need, which is almost the whole lane. If you're just an amateur swimmer who has to squeeze in practice around work hours, you'll almost always share a lane with a number of people, good luck doing butterfly.
I like the butterfly
The kicks in butterfly are still giving me muscle pulls
I suffering from ankylosing spondylitis is butterfly stroke is good for me
I’m in high school and swimming starts next Monday and I haven’t swam for three years and I am panicking. I also have asthma and born with weak muscle everywhere even my eye muscles are weak and I have to train them ten mins a day. So what do I do if I drown?😅
As a kid I was scared of water and never had a chance to learn swimming. Now, being a mom of 6yr old wanted to learn swimming at the age of 34.
Learning it with my son..
I don’t know how easy it is going to be learning.. I’m pushing myself hard..
Breaststroke is my favourite stroke I do swimming for a club
Whew.....lots of rapid fire info. I think I need a beer. 🙂
For free style, Pls show slow motion for the arm movement.
Freestyle
The only Jeff abs I can do for the whole minute because of 30 second break after each set
Free style
great thanks
Butterfly & frestil
I thought when the coach said freestyle it meant do whatever swimming I wanted to😅 that probably why I didn't get picked from tryouts
Though BREAST STROKE IS MY FAVOURITE IFEEL BUTTERFLY MORE COMFORT WHICH COMES LESS TIME THAN BRESAT STROKE
i have a swim team tryout coming up, any tips?
Focus on technique first and foremost so you're building a proper base! We have tons of videos on technique - start with some on freestyle basics :)
Hmm..... You said with the fly that you want to pull straight back rather than the old S shaped pull, but all of the swimmers are using the S pull. Generally the fly is taught with the S pull, and freestyle is taught to pull straight back with no S. I never could swim breast stroke unless I used a scissor kick. I am naturally pigeon toed, and my feet will not turn out enough to be able to get any power with the whip kick. My favorite stroke is the old over arm side stroke which is much faster than the breast stroke anyway.
No elites use this s shaped anymore. But the 90s swimmers used to.
@@eminem565 With freestyle, yes. With the fly, no.
Generally how much time does it take to master in freestyle, if i practice 1 hour a day , 6days a week. I know this depends on individual.
Keep up the good work! In a few months you should start to see some improvement, especially if you are incorporating drills and technique work into your swims. Stay consistent and try to get 1% better every day!
That library interview with the chick with no arms brought me here
Butterfly
Freestyle stroke
I like butterfly stroke
Best s
I am 8 and go to kafou sports for swimming
I need more help with the butterfly 😢😢😢😢😢
you forgot the 5th stroke tehcnique which us men mastered many moons ago
my favourite stroke is
Can a person how has dorso lumbar scoliosis be a lifeguard?
I hate backstroke. I can’t stay on a straight path, I splash too much water on my face and hit my head against the wall😂.
Back strokes
100% Butterfly or Freestyle ( Crawl ) ❤
Freestyle is so hard for me
My main stroke is back stroke though my favourite stroke is breast stroke
Does anyone recommend using a snorkel to help with freestyle until I can get breathing better? I feel like I can’t go as long swimming only because I don’t have breathing down yet.
Is it too late to start advanced swimming at 15? (I already know how to swim)
Not at all! It's never too late to start - and you're still young :)
Am a beginner, and I've problem with my legs, arms, brath all of it. Hahahahah
How can you handle the body not shaking while swimming?
Why is your body shaking 🤔???
Back stroke
I struggle with freestyle
freestyle
I do want a swimmer body 😭😭 NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER WHAT?
I just wanna know who came up with these strokes
I end up not breathing out (blowing bubbles) at all and then attempt to breath in again and add up to the air I’m already hoarding in my lungs 🤦🏾♀️
