    I really enjoyed my stay at the Riviera Jomtien. There are 4 Riviera buildings in the area. Quick tour of the property and a studio room with costs for daily (technically illegal), monthly rental and to purchase.

    This a REALLY GOOD video. It shows the attention to detail of the shared areas. Excellent 👍👍.

      Thank you very much. There is a lot of detail and great design in the common areas throughout the property. Definitely a luxury location.

    I checked out the Riveria and the condos were just way to small for me I went to Cetus right on the beach and got a 58 sq meter 1 bedroom for the same price with an incredible ocean view and great amenities also

      I appreciate you getting back to me. I worked for the DOD for 35yrs. I’ve been retired for 6 yrs. I’ve traveled around the world but never been to Thailand. I’m looking to go to Thailand next yr sometime. I’m not into the party scene( too old for that now) I don’t smoke or drink. Kinda laid back you might say. Just looking for a quiet room with terrace and a view of the ocean. Where I can bring a different young lady maybe once or twice a week ( I’m not that dude anymore I have to pace myself). And see the sights of Thailand by myself. And thats about it.

    Thailand has a sewer gas issue in its condos. Not sure why, but it’s better odds than a coin flip that if a building is older than 5 years it will be filled with sewer gas.
    Just have to pray it’s not in your room. Mostly it’s in the hallways and bathrooms but I’ve seen it many times where the sewer gas is circulating through the ceilings and drops down into the rooms via room vents / any other crack in the ceiling like a light fixture / pit light.
    It’s a real bummer

      Probably because they don't have traps in the drains

  • @skiptumilu2620
    @skiptumilu2620 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Does it always smell like sewage in the hallways? I have heard that is a problem in condo buildings and on the streets in Pattaya. Thinking about retiring there , but not if I have to smell that all the time.

    • @RetiringToAsia
      @RetiringToAsia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't notice it anywhere else on the property. It was most likely the garbage closet where residents take their trash on each floor. Since toilet paper can't be flushed, it's thrown out with the garbage. There are many different smells in every country of the world. Don't let something like that stop you from exploring or living your dream.

    • @lkabong5529
      @lkabong5529 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wait, WHAT??!! I was in Pattaya for 8 weeks in 2018 and 8 weeks in Hua Hin, and NEVER out of the numerous hotels that I stayed in, could you not flush TP down the toilet . ???????

    • @RetiringToAsia
      @RetiringToAsia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TP is meant for drying a clean bottom after washing with the bum gun. Many tourists aren't familiar with this and will throw away dirty paper. The pipes are narrower than western standard and clog more easily so it should not be flushed. There is "fast dissolving" paper that can be flushed, but it's not very comfortable to use. 😂

    Very nice! The monthly price broken down is only about 13 bucks a day.I'm sure it doesn't include some other costs but seems hard to beat.

    • @RetiringToAsia
      @RetiringToAsia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on the rental. For short term and some monthly (airbnb), everything is usually included, but definitely read the fine print. If you buy or rent long term, you'll have to set up utilities.

    Nice looking condo. How high was the barrier on the balcony? I haven't got a head for heights so I'd probably be looking for as low a floor as possible 😢 Also, can you pay extra for room cleaning etc.

    • @RetiringToAsia
      @RetiringToAsia  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You won't fall over the balconies. I'm not a fan of heights either but now I live on the 20th floor in my building. 😂 It's cheap and easy to have a cleaning service come in if you don't want to clean yourself.

    • @stevej3296
      @stevej3296 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks. I think I'd like that if it's affordable. It would feel like being permanently on holiday even though you're retired! Living the dream 😊

    I've watched at least 60 condo tours. This is the first one that has people using the facilities. It always seems so deserted like where is everyone?

    • @RetiringToAsia
      @RetiringToAsia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm well, legally, condos can't be used for short-term rentals so many people are actually at work or out enjoying other things I guess. There's SO much to see and do here.

  • @WilliamFluery

    Looks like a good bit of open land between condo and beach. What’s the risk of another condo building in front of ocean view.

      I'm not a party person either and as you will see in some of my other videos, even in the U.S. I'm pretty frugal and tend toward a minimalist lifestyle. I'll enjoy my retirement and won't be going without but based on what I've seen so far, my ideal budget is $1,000 USD and $2,000 on the high end. More videos to come on that so I won't give it all away here. Thanks for subscribing!
