Hi all!...... have you ever considered retiring in Malaysia? We'd love to hear from you.... and it happens to be our next country to explore! 👍
I am considering moving to South East Asia. I first considered The Philippines, then Thailand. Need to travel around quite a bit more + all information is appreciated.
@@TheGandorX it's definitely affordable.... you just have to find your "vibe" and what clicks with what you want! You'll definitely find it! Thanks for watching! 👍
Please visit somewhere other than KL or Penang/Georgetown. They been done to death. No one does Sarawak or Sabah on Borneo 😮💨
@user-vq8yk1wc1u hi there! I hear ya, we are starting in KL.... not sure after that? We might stay and do some day trips from there? Borneo is on the list, but I don't think we'll get there this time unfortunately. If you have any recommendations for day trips from KL let me know! 👍
I have been in SE Asia for 35 years and including 5 years in Sarawak.
I really enjoyed it there and pqlced like Miri and Kuching are nice ..but quiet.
A great apartment can be had for USD700 per month.
I would recommend at least a 2 bedroom plus 60sqm apartment.. the smaller dog boxes drive you crazy.
Sarawak had an interesting culture of Chinese, Malay and local Dayak. The language easier to learn than Thai as well
Thanks for the clips, they are really well put together, informative and really well narrated. Think i will pick Thailand for my retirement location for as well as all the obvious things. The health care system seems really well put together. You only have to see how much medical tourism there is. Lets face it, not many of us blow out a hundred candles.
Hi there David 👋 I agree about the 100 candles!....I might steal that 🤣 but it's so true! Also appreciate your feedback, thanks 😊
Great Video. I am contemplating where to rent for a year in a few months. I stayed opposite the Arcadia in City Garden Tower last year. Their rooms are pretty similar to Olympus, but not with that weird TV setup. I never knew Olympus had that and I will sadly have to drop it as an option. Arcadia has a Isaan night club on the left side of it as you face the building. Before staying there I would advice to check the noise pollution at night. BTW, same goes for pool side of City Garden Tower.
This basically goes for anywhere you rent in Thailand. Understand that noisy pollution is real there. The strict noise restriction laws we have in western countries are not policed in Thailand (well certainly not Pattaya) and we are talking live music, heavy base and drum sounds till the early morning.
You view the apartment during the day, you sign your contract and you give your deposit during the day...sooner or later you will spend your first night, don't let that be an unpleasant surprise.
That is SO TRUE! renting for a year is a great way to find the right spot! Noise pollution is REAL here! Thank you for mentioning that and thanks for watching! 😁
Beautiful scenery and condos. ❤
@@lindawilson795 is a beautiful area! 👍Thanks for watching
Had to stop video to say, great job ! Thanks ! New, but subbed, even though thinking chaing mai or hua hin.😊
@mauimixer6040 awe, thank you so much! I think you made my day! Appreciate your feedback. We DID do a few condo videos of Hua Hin while we were there, you might be interested in?
Chiang Mai is a great area... lots to see and do around the north! Love it! ❤️
Thank you so much. At least we get an idea. You went into details.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Barb! 👍
I like youre first video with the amazon , i lived in the city garden bevor it was very nice ,but they do to much chlorine in to the water ,they even trow it in the water when youre in ,so we moved to the amazon , my daughters skin had always Irritations from the clorine ,and i needed to cut her hair ,all of to much chlorine...no trouble with the chlorine in amazon😊👍
That is good to know! 👍
Excellent information and presentation - Please show more!!
Awe, thank you so much and thanks for watching!
Wash machine is a deal breaker for me. Even a short stay of a month. Makes life so much easier
Agreed! 👍 💯
The Riviera looks awesome for long-term!
It's definitely a nice building, but very busy
I stayed there, and it's not a great place at all. The air conditioning was as noisy as a jet engine, and the temperature control didn't work. The view was great, but you soon get over that. When having a shower, if I turned the lights on in the shower room, they would flicker. So had to shower in the dark (I didn't want to take any risks, lol). Would never recommend staying there.
Hey there, thanks for sharing your story, sorry you had a bad experience there.
@@wattstraveling Not your fault lol
@Quarmbie-3000 no, but I appreciate you sharing a real life experience 👍
Excellent video with concise information. Great job! One question what is the wifi scenario in the Riviera. Could you use the co-working areas as an office? I do a lot of video editing? Thanks.
@@lesliebyrne801 hi there! Thank you for your feedback. We did see people working on their laptops in both work spaces, so I'm assuming it's okay.....BUT tourist sims are affordable with great speeds! 👍
Great job and info. Thank you , enjoy ...
Hi there! Thank you for that and thanks for watching, means a lot! 😊
After touring Serenity Wongamat Beach and Unixx Pratamnak, I moved into Orient condo Jomtien in December
Hi there! I heard that the Unixx, altho in a good spot.... waiting for elevators can take 20+ minutes.... glad you didn't pick that one! 👍 curious what is the monthly rate at the Orient?
Cool video. Kudos.
Thank you
i lived at City Gardens for 6 months 10,000 baht but dealt with a owner direct there is no decent eateries for westerns close by
Dealing with the owner direct is probably the best option to get the best price I'd say! 👍
All those condos remind me of the huge city size cruise ships. They're big, new with plenty of amenities, but they're just too big and too many people. Like cruise ships, i prefer the smaller, less crowded condos that are also usually larger as well. To each their own, though.
I can understand that! Good thing is there are plenty of options here!
the last condo was the best :D
Great choice! The Riviera has a lot of amenities and the views are SPECTACULAR! Thanks for watching! 👍
Love the video very informative Currently in the Philippines coming to Jomtien on Monday I always get mosquito bites at least once daily what’s it like there for mosquitoes please and what would you recommend to repel them please thanks
Hi there! Ohhh, the Philippines 👍 There is a product they sell at the 7-11 (good place because they are everywhere) its a small spray bottle with a pink lid...lol....sorry I don't know the name. Send me an Instagram message, and I'll send you a picture of the bottle 👍 lol
And thanks for your feedback much appreciated 😁
@@wattstraveling thanks ever so much very much appreciated happy Saturday have a fabulous weekend
@@wattstraveling can I ask you one more question please I need a SIM card that I can use for 2 phones and my iPad in uk it’s called hotspot let’s me connect to all devices at same time do they have that in Thailand please ?will it work with the true SIM card this is all new to me thanks again Jim
@jimbopoker3204 hi Jim, good question to ask. From our experience hot spotting is possible but you do need to make sure when you buy your sim and plan that there is no hot spot limit. Many plans I have seen have a 3gb or 6gb (or less) limit on hot spotting. May not be an issue for some but if you plan to stream Netflix or something like that you would eat up the data limit quite quickly. Cheers! 👍😊
@@wattstraveling thanks I have just been in a live and a lot of people recommended AIS for Thailand unlimited hotspot for all devices just make sure you get an unlimited plan they all say
Thank you teaching me the term "Murphy bed". Hope that's a different Murphy than Murphy's law.
Hahaha..... yes, different than Murphy's law! At least that's what it's called in Canada! Thank you for watching! ❤️👍

Do more content like this.
Hi Barb 👋 I'm hoping to do more, but not only in Thailand but other countries we visit as well. We just haven't found "the one" yet.... and we keep looking! Thank you for watching! 😊
What is the name of the place with that great gym with all the free weights?
Hi 👋 the Riviera and the Arcadia BOTH had great gyms 👍
Would it be cheaper to rent a small house in an enclosed compound area?
That's a good question and if you had a vehicle I'm sure you'd find a compound that can be cheaper. 👍
Usually they are farther away from main areas that's why you'd need a vehicle, but they are definitely an option!
Arcadia Millenium is the best
It looked like a great place and that gym! 😍
I dont know,how about 30% Discount?
Discounts are always good 👍
You may want to actually show all the rooms
@sd6458 I did show all the rooms? What are you looking for? They are 1 bed, 1 bath?
Thanks for your videos, may I suggest pronouncing Pattaya properly.
You are welcome.
Chicken Stall... to expensiv... sam electric 8 Baht... normal only 4 Baht😂
Yeah, I feel like some people increase electricity just because they can, while others just charge government rates. 👍 it definitely fluctuates from building to building.
Overpriced as usual.
Should 10k max
@bobbyzipp9947 we'd love to pay 10 but overcharging tourists will never stop....so we have to find something reasonable, kinda in between...
@@wattstraveling You will find it. Maybe offer 6 months up front. They will lower the price. They will lower it either way eventually. They will find only so many people to over pay.
Newest equals more expensive.
To expensive.
It might be for some, but overall, there's lots of affordable options! 👍
Aha , jail rooms for rent ! 555 !
In Thailand, you don't spend much time in your condo ....OR as you would put it jail..... life is OUTSIDE ❤️
@wattstraveling I accept your answer , but for me are such condos to small , and I have the feeling to get not enough "air" in it !!! I know Thailand more than only 40 years , and you can believe me , how to live in Thailand !!! Have a good day !!!
@kanoi009 Wow, 40 years!..... AWESOME
See how that would cost in Miami or LA. Lol
hun your being conned its 10000 b for that room
Hun, only if you stay long term. 👍
