    Hey! Thanks so much for the quality content! Did you like this one or the Hohem Multi better? I just bought the Hohem and I am getting a LOT of motor noise and limited motion in the tilt forward. Should I consider this one as opposed to the Hohem Multi?

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hmm, I think this one has quieter motors.
      My suggestion is to wait for a few weeks - heard that moza will release a hybrid gimbal and it will be quite interesting 😊

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jana. Indeed - the lack of noise coming from the motors is a great strength. I will use the gimbal once again in the next video appearing - this Friday. About an action camera. And you can never guess it was attached on a gimbal. 😎

    I am enjoying using mine and really have no complaints about the gimbal. Mine did not, however, come with a smartphone or action camera mount. A generic phone mount was about €3 on eBay and my action camera has a tripod mount built in, so not issues. Just be aware that there must be different accessory packs in different regions. Panasonic cameras (I have an FZ300 and an LX100) are not much use remote controlled by the Feiyu app - this is because when Panasonic cameras are under remote control the LCD screen turns off after a few seconds, and this is not user controllable. I have added a smartphone holder to the side socket on the Feiyu and control the cameras from the phone using the Panasonic app, which keeps a live view on the phone all the time.

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Howard, this is very useful! Thank you so much for sharing all that.
      I am quite surprised about FT not including the accessories - such a shame for a device which is rather a bit expensive. Hopefully they will reconsider.

    I've just got this gimbal and tried it for the first time last night just for a couple hours. I'm using it with the Sony A6300. I haven't linked it up with the app yet I'm going to give that a go today but I have to mention the mounting plate which is an absolute killer for this gimbal. It is so hard to use and could be a deal breaker for me. The A6300 needs to be removed from the gimbal not just for the battery but also to replace a card. Also the batteries on the A6300 are small and don't last long which I understand will decrease further when using the WiFi function. This means that the camera will need to be removed and reset often. I knew before I purchased that this would be the case but I didn't realize the mounting plate would be anywhere near the pain it is when removing and mounting the camera. Just a word of caution to anyone wanting to get one of these. I'm not saying the gimbal is crap, I haven't tested it properly yet but just on initial impressions the mounting plate needs a solution for easier mounting and remounting or it going to end up on the shelf for a lot of us and eventually on eBay.

    • @TechMishka

  • @norm949
    @norm949 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the great review. I am seriously considering this gimbal for my Lumix G7 because I don't want to buy a large stabilizer meant for full size DSLRs and there seems to be little competition in this range except for the new Zhiyun Crane M2. What lens did you use on your G7 for your test?

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was the 25mm f/1.7.
      This gimbal is a little expensive; You may also think about getting the new smaller DJI Ronin SC;
      Since I also used the Panasonic G7 and still do - going to a Body with stabilziation is well worth it; There are some G85 second hand bodies which are really affordable.

On all pictures and feiyu homepage it shows a round button - but yours and mine ... are oval - second the lock for the quick release plate changed to the side of the plate - all official pictures show it under the plate - strange isnt it ??? And a fast question : when your gimbal is turned off does the pano/360 rotator sound like a ticking clock when rotating it (quite calm noise)? Thanks and have a nice day👍🏻

    Just got this mostly for my iPhone XS Max + Moment lenses cause there's no smartphone gimbals that can handle this weight capacity except Movi and I'm not a fan of it. Anyway, I have been going nuts trying to balance this thing. The problem is getting the phone to stay in place before turning it on. It keeps wanting to either fall forward or backwards. I can't find a sweet spot. But when I turn it on, it props into position. I'm just wondering if this isn't balanced properly and if you have tips. thanks

    @Dinos0001 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Although the review was great... it made me NOT wanna buy this gimbal. The footage is so shaky. Look at 1:14, it's like it's not even on a gimbal. Don't know if there was something wrong in the balancing but it is unacceptable for a gimbal to be that shaky. I own the Smooth Q (phone gimbal) by Zhiyun and the footage is not shaky at all. I was looking for a gimbal for my Sony a5100 but I will stay away from this one for sure. Dodged a bullet there, so thanks!

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      konavy - having stable footage is a sequence of a number of events. THere always be shakes visible if you rely on mechanical stabilization with a lightweight gimbal. Most likely you like the Smooth Q footage (by the way - my favorite gimbal ever!) because your phone adds EIS - something that I was shutting off for the testing. That's why filmmakers use much heavier gimbals with counterweight - having more weight reduce or eliminate the normal human body movements and give buttersmooth results.
      That's the theoretical part. On the practical side - to me it is also hard to justify the price of the G6 Plus, and if you need gimbal for actioncams and smartphones - the Smooth Q is still a great choice.

All of a sudden it got SO TIGHT you can't manually unscrew it anymore, yet the arm and the camera-plate it carries stays loose and adjustable. I've tried with all my power and there's no way it's getting unscrewed - never experienced anything like this before with any electronics. Any idea what's causing this? I mean it feels like it's just a locked super tight screw, but the camera platform is still loose vertically and I can't balance the thing because of this... Hope I made any sense lol. Great review, unfortunately it contributed to my decision of purchasing this product. It's my first gimbal, and it looks, feels and works apparently fine. BUT. The Feiyu ON app, required to control EVERYTHING on the gimbal (updates, settings, camera controls), is a piece of crap - as mentioned by the more than 1000 users (of 2000) in Google Play store, which are giving it only one star... It has a overall rating of 2.3... So everybody interested, be aware of this aspect...

I've just set up using a Google Pixel on an old Feiyu I picked up for 20 bucks and for what I'm trying to do meaning just try it out with two phones no camera I like it as a learning tool. I agree "never use as a pro" as they're stealing Propietary information and should be only had as a dirt cheap training device. Still worth having imo.

      If it is not balanced - quite normal; You may try fine-tuning the motors too.

    Just a warning to everyone, DO NOT UPDATE the firmware on these gimbals from Feiyutech, very few people have success with it either doing it through USB or the app it almost always bricks the gimbal. Ask me how I know....

      Now I feel lucky for successfully flashing mine. And you are not the only one that speaks about this problem. Hopefully there's a way to recover it.

    I thought I actually did hear something/motor noise in the beginning

    • @TechMishka
      @TechMishka  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possible - there always is a little motor noise with a gimbal, but is almost unnoticable.

    I purchased a G6 Plus. I've completely wasted a whole weekend on the #FeiyuTech #G6Plus gimbal. I've sent multiple emails and social media messages for no response. It turns on and the motors activate but the buttons do nothing. I've tried to update the firmware but it just keeps crashing. Compete waste of money. Don't buy. #DJI for me I think. so pissed off 😡

      Maan, so sorry to read this. Sounds like a DOA item - so simply return it and get a replacement.
