Seriously, some of their post-war projects are just as crazy as some of shown here.
the fiery hedge hogg is a funny concept. It also gives a literal interpretation to raining fire.
I am convinced the designers of these weapons definitely had something to drink before they drew these things up
They DO drink vodka everyday
dont think so, some of them are genius art examples.....not vodka , just brains.
It was probably cocaine
Or they wanted to do art instead of effective weapons.
@@glebb..3416 some of them are top science examples and used even in our century...
Wow, just strap a bunch of guns on the belly of an airplane. That’s some Battlefield 1942 tactics right there.
Next up: soldiers standing on the hoods of driving Jeeps firing straight from the hip!
Imagine how modern military doctrine and operations would've been so different if some of these designs like the TU 2 actually became a success.
The TU-2SH was actually a great idea. Today we call it the AC-130

I'm the only one who noticed the three white stripes of Adidas on the A-40 tank in the thumbnail? Nice easter egg!!
I expected to see the soviet dog mine in this video. Think about doing a video on that, it's an important and sadly often overlooked part of ww2 history.
Got to love those N64 Golden Eye sound bits.
Imagine how different warfare and the outcomes of different wars would have been had certain experimental war projects had succeeded and were commonly used
What do you mean by “succeeded”? The reason why most of these experimental weapons were abandoned was because they were too ineffective and/or too expensive to produce. There would have been no logical reason (apart from sheer stupidity) to use such impractical weapons in mass.
For example, to make the Tsar tank effective, it would have to have been completely redesigned to something that would ressemble your typical tank design.
Most of these weapon concepts were doomed to fail from the beginning.

The Fiery Hedgehog is GENIUS!
The Tsar tank reminds me of the Hail fire droid from the clone wars
The fiery hedgehog sounds like the solution to a problem when someone put one too many zeros when ordering SMG’s from the factory.
Flaming Hedghog is new to me... Maby would have worked better if they could stagger the rate of fire or build a bigger drum for the rifles... or just have 12 guns + belt fed...
probably had no time and resources
Could you guys maybe think of working on a weird NATO/American weapons series? That would be neat
The fiery hedgehog is by far the funniest thing I’ve ever heard of it’s just a plane with 88 posh-41s strapped to a bomb rack and pointed downwards 😂 just imagine this thing as a killstreak in call of duty or a vehicle in battlefield that would be amazing
Well germans had Shräge Musik on their Dornier-217 which you shoot others planes higher than you without aiming them on head on
Flying tank is impresive 👍
Can you cover how America’s police got more militarised in the 80’s? Great Job btw!

The real ultimate Russian weapon is saying they’re not invading when really they are
To be fair, they said they’d move the troops away from the border, they never said which direction
Imagine a movie with a some inspiration from these inventions
If done properly, the tu 2sh could’ve been genius, the guns being detachable could help if a crash happens.

В конечном счёте из летающего танка получилось БМД, так что идея не ушла в истории, а получила дальнейшее продвижение.

United States: we have the best inventions for war
Meanwhile in the Soviet Union:
The first 2 guns will NEVER work. The first one, the pistol. In order for a gun shot to be quiet. Even if they found a way to not need a silencer, you still need to use sub sonic ammo. Bullets break the sound barrier, that's the Crack sound you hear. Even with a silencer on a gun, you still also need to use sub sonic rounds.

Russia has some surprisingly unique ideas when it comes to making weapons. I can't say the flying tank or the Tzar Tank was brilliant, but the hedgehog, silent pistol, and water gun are so fascinating. If only Russia wasn't ruled by war-hungry tyrants and used these weapons for good (if they still existed and I believe some do).
Great vid by the way

"The PSS Silent Pistol or Pistolet Sppecialneich Zamodzoraizneich" WTF?! As russian, I can say that this is "Пистолет Специальный Самозарядный" (Pistolet Specialnyi Samozaryadnyi)
Gliding tanks is actually a really good idea. Imagine dropping in armored reinforcements that glide in instead of putting aircraft in harm’s way.
Such a "landing" of technology still exists. There is a special kind of airborne troops in Russia.
Ok hear me out why not just use a armoured helicopter? It could fly over manpads unlike a drop tank and it is way more stealthy than a flying tank
Also it would be more likely for a tank to be hit than a helicopter also it is a common myth that helicopters and planes are, in terms of amrour, are weak. This is only true for planes helicopters are armoured enough to take small arms fire and some calibers of AA can fly high enough to not be shot down by manpads
@@h4per_txt565 because an "armoured" helicopter would be heavy, and slow. so it would get shot down anyways, you also seem to think that the concussive blast wouldn't just kill/stun the pilots anyways, even if it didn't, it's hard to control a helicopter that just got slapped by a fast moving explosive.
@@krainzyrumie6426 :/ regular Helicopters are already armoured
Soviet Union came up with dogs as anti tank bombers. Explosive pack having a wooden stick when the dog thinks he is actually going for a doggie treat. They actually went towards German tanks for the treat when the stick tilted at the German tank then it exploded. Sometimes the Germans would actually shoot down those dogs and sometimes the dogs went back to the Russian tanks.
The Topolev could have been the first Ac-130-like Invention in the 2. World war from the Russians. From the weird invention. Why is no one came with the Idea of a slow flying bigger version and Put some Anti tank guns into that and some 14.5 mm Heavy Maschine guns into that.
I mean that could have been that thing!
Reckon the fiery hedgehog has one advantage, it would be very good at transporting large quantities of PPSH’s around. (if it’s better than other forms of transport like transport planes or air drops is up for debate)
Just a fun thought
In Russia, they have flying tanks. In Ukraine, they have tractors towing tanks!
yes SLAVA
except that was a bs propaganda and that tractor was actually evacuating a broken tank
How the ... Did the tank tracks roll that fast?
