- Aka's coming out party: 6 goals even though he only played the game's last 2.5 quarters (came on mid-2Q with the Bears down 4 goals). Vossy 32 possessions and 4 goals. Leppa 3 goals. So that's 13 goals from red-heads. I'm not the only one who noticed the hair colour -- listen for Peter McKenna's frequent red-head references.
It was effectively a 12-goal turnaround in just over 2 quarters; the Bears were down 25 points midway through the 2Q and won by 47 points.
Also interesting to note that this game was played on a Saturday afternoon, an unusual slot for the Bears when hosting.

So interesting. I wasn’t young enough to witness the build up of football’s invincibles; only the finished product in the early 2000’s as a young and jealous opposition supporter. I didn’t realize there’d be so many familiar and iconic players in this team, humbly unaware of the history they would create

As Gerard Healy said before the final siren sounded it was actually Brisbane's first ever win against the West Coast Eagles in Queensland (Gabba/Carrara). From Brisbane's creation in 1987 to 1995 they never defeated the West Coast Eagles in a home & away match. Early in 1996 Brisbane finally defeated the West Coast, but they won in Perth, when they had the return match at the Gabba as it's shown on the video above Brisbane won again making it a clean sweep against the Eagles for the first time ever in a AFL season. In that 1987-1995 period it must be said that Brisbane did draw with the Eagles early in the 1992 season at Carrara. From 1987-1995 Brisbane defeated every team except the West Coast Eagles. West Coast were the last team Brisbane won against, with the amount of teams the AFL had at the time.
