That dude in front of you ripped! So fluid and effortlessly whipping that bike around. Thanks for the video, running the topaz 3 but thinking the coil would be a fun shuttle day/ park option.
Good timing for this vid! I needed something to keep me stoked, My bike is in the shop now (was hoping to get the call its ready today alas... no) having a MRP Hazzard installed.
See I'm one of those people that like the multiple compression/rebound adjustments as I come from a motorcycle background. My son's bike came with the DVO suspension and we got the Jade X upgrade and he absolutely loves it! I loved setting it up as it was the easiest to set up so far!! Looking forward to the next vid about your setup with this shock!
They don't design shocks for regular sized people. I just add the max rated air and either run it locked out or half open all the time. Have one coil fork and really like it, and have been curious about a rear coil.
Could you do another oldie but goodie tech trail video? There are no high quality videos I could find of anyone hitting Stigmata, all I know is its a rock roll.
Debating on this shock or the air on a Ripmo AF. What circumstances are open mode for? Tech? Makes sense to firm it up on jump tracks. How's it pedal in open mode?
Electrifying! (dad jokes⚡🤣⚡) I gotta get out to Creek soon, looks like so much fun. Not sure if my bike is ready for it though, 150/130 Diamondback 27+. I'll post about it in the fbook group, maybe see you out there.
Hey TB, few weeks ago after, a small "argument" with a tree, my bike got practically wrecked. Let's say that after the "argument" the tree was kind enough to stop me (with out a scratch) but my bike wanted to finish the trail on its own and after finishing it, I found that my frame was bend a lot and my rear wheel became my front one while the front one decided that it didn't want to live with my bike anymore. SO! I'd like to ask if you have any suggestions of a good bike for some one on a very very tight budget. Thanks :) !
I think you definitely want to go for a hardtail to get the best value. It is going to be challenging to find a used bike now because bike riding had gotten more popular due to Covid. Keep your eyes open, check Pinkbike and other local sites.
Nice review Jeff. I have the jade X as well and I find myself in the trail setting a ton ( tech climb , pedaling, flow dh) then I switch to open on the chunky like south mountain or Sedona decents For reference I’m 5’11 / 175 ish full kit and ride a 450# spring on my Ripmo af
Have a fox dhx2 coil on my Fugitive LT and like it a lot. Weight is high though. Where i like is most is riding over New England roots and rocks. The roll over is noticeable.
I love that tittle! Can't wait to try mine!
Rémy Métailler lol thanks dude!

He's a longtime friend, Pro downhiller AND head of the Trail Cruë at Creek, he RIPS
Awesome camera work and really well done comparison - thanks for taking the time to break down the different settings

thanks! I had the old Jade which had more adjustments, but this felt better.
Your a natural at this Jeff keep them coming 👍
thank you!

It's pretty rad! Like I said in the video, I weigh 225 maybe even 230 and it's pretty stiff, but still very active.
Great to see JL vids after that huge set back a few months ago! Awesome skills and great wealth of information 👍😊😁.

Check out Sprindex, they have a 550-610 lb adjustable rate spring. You can dial in your spring rate on the trail.
I'll check it out
Great video Jeff!
You seem so much better with the coil
Big jumps and dad jokes. Love it
Big fan of the coils! looking forward to more ride videos with this one!
At 6.22 you've got closed on left have you not? The lever goes from inwards for open to outwards for open 😜
I have the same socks, lol! good value sox... Have you tried the regular jade and have any comparison anecdotes?
I think you have your Open/Trail/Closed side-by-sides on the drop mixed up.
I noticed this too. He got the left and right panels reversed on the drop. Watch the lever.
excellent video !
So good 🤘🏻 I can’t wait to get a coil on my bike.
Sweet video as ever. What mic set up do you use to achieve such clear audio when riding the trail?
I just had my go pro with a wind screen.
Jeff Lenosky thanks Jeff

Shocking vid
Post up your bike, I rode for a few weeks on that configuration and it worked fine. LMK if you head up.
may i ask what mount you used for the camera to record the shock?
appreciated
Thanks for this Nice vidéo 👍🏼
What bike park and jump trail is this?

What is a very tight budget amount for you??
It's not a good time in the market to be looking for a deal.
@@justinwbohneryou never know man. Sometimes lucky happens at the oddest of times...
right now around 1000-1300 euros

Does the shock have rebound adjust?
Years later: Yes. 18+ clicks.
What bike park is this?
Mountain Creek in Vernon, NJ
@@JeffLenoskyTrailBoss thanks! Looks so fun man! Nice review too.
im more impressed with the camera placement on the downtube..like..WHAT??! lol..How can i do that??
Waterbottle bolt through a Go Pro mount.
@@JeffLenoskyTrailBoss you little smart thing you! :D
Jeff Lenosky hope you don’t mind me stealing that for my videos! 😆
not getting a lot of hits on a jump trail? maybe I should rewind
Wish I could run a DVO shock on my bike but they are having issues on Knolly Fugitive frames.
In what way? I have a Knolly fugitive and have been running a Jade-X, just got a Topaz T3 in to run as well!
What have you heard? Maybe you need a Reeb ;-)
@@CottonTheMoth None? How long have you had them?
@@JeffLenoskyTrailBoss DVO says they have to change some bushing overlap on the shaft to make it a lot more durable.

I see you're also a right foot forward rider
👍
I use my shock settings. I can tell the difference between two clicks of lsc on my DPX2. So can Shockwiz.
awesome!
I'm in the video!!!
really? where?
@@JeffLenoskyTrailBoss me and my dad with the matching jerseys on the lift

I thought your bike said beer.
I can do other things in (way) less than 4-minutes by my ex-wife apparently wasn't impressed. :(
lol
😂😂😂😂
I see what you did there
;)
clickbait
Mark Ifi so, you’re telling me you don’t find it shocking?
