      On all Nissan model years "prior to" 2013 using NS-2: Fluid level should be checked with the fluid warmed up to 122°F to 176°F at the dipstick with engine running in park with the car leveled.. If you changed the fluid or added fluid, run the transmission through all the gears and back to park before checking fluid level. When checking a 2013 or newer model Nissan CVT, the NS-3 CVT trans fluid will need to be checked at the fluid level check bolt on the transmission housing while the engine is running in park and vehicle is level.. Again, if you changed/added fluid, run through all the gears and back to park. You will need an OBD tool that can read the transmission fluid temp! The level of the trans fluid should be checked at 98-113 degrees F. If you allow the transmission fluid to heat-up to normal operating temp 122°F to 176°F, the fluid will expand too much, and will give the false impression that you have overfilled. Again, the trans fluid level must be checked at 98-113 degrees F.. and at that temperature, the fluid should be a fast drip or very fine stream overflowing from the fluid level check bolt hole.

      @damoncrowfeather4655 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pearlrival3124 Are you describing a Nissan CVT trans or a Toyota transmission? I ask, because Toyota transmissions used to have a 3/8 allen type plug drain on the side of the trans, but they now have the drain on the bottom and have a allen type plastic standpipe screwed into the drain, which allows for the proper level of the trans fluid. On a 2013-2018 Nissan CVT, the transmission pan has a 19 mm drain bolt.. and the 14 mm overflow bolt is located on the transmission housing. if you are laying under the vehicle on your belly facing the rear of the car, looking up at the pan drain bolt.. you will look just to the left of the pan drain bolt, on the transmission housing, and you will see the 14 mm overflow bolt. It's hard to describe here, but just do a google search for image of Nissan cvt trans fluid level bolt location.. and you'll get a better idea of the location.

      @@damoncrowfeather4655 nissan versa note 2015. in fact it does have a 3/8 allen bolt on the side of the housing closest to the tire-well. similar to a rear end you can fill fluid until it flows out of the bolt hole cold or you can use drain plug method at the correct temperature. you seem to be savvy: its not easy to be within the specified range 93-112. the overflow bolt you are referring to is underneath the car. most diy wont have a lift so that would be considered last option.

      @@leondetailing2415 Makes you go back to dealership for transmission fluid change also makes you feel the pain in your wallet for not getting their "extended warranty."
      I needed a new transmission at 32,000 miles at 5.2 years. JUST after their warranty.
      Buy Toyota or Honda. NEVER touch a Nissan.

    Don’t use any aftermarket wether it says it’s compatible or not because they lie and it ruins the CVT immediately

    I don't see why it is so different. I got an infiniti qx 60 and damn it's like another world. You cannot access the dipstick. The engineer problem didn't care about what people would do instead of taking it to the dealer

    Why can i not use the old school logic of what comes out, what goes in. Means 4QT drain out, 4QT goes in.

    He's funny it's very expensive stuff . But we're gonna pour it all in and if it's too full it's just gonna run out and waste it but it's expensive stuff be careful.

    Pours in 1/4 litre because it was too low, 1/2 litre pours out to get the full level "right", magic expensive fluid.
    Speculative assessment of when to replace the level check plug.
    This video just teaches that CVT fluid is expensive and the fluid level is close enough. It's gonna blow in 60k anyway.

    Why go thru all that extra work, just catch all the old oil on a measuring pan and replace the exact amount back with new one. It's not rocket science, CVT fluid might expand but it doesn't double in volume or multiply in amounts. I have done that for years on all of my vehicles and never had a problem and even if by accident you add a cup of extra oil I can guarantee you it will survive that awful punishment.....lol

      People might still need this information if they lost fluid. I had a hose that got a hole in it, and I needed to know how much fluid to add

    Certainly an asinine method designed by Nissan to accurately check trans fluid!!🤯
    Not to mention the waste of gallons of fluid with this method!
