WWF D-Generation X In Your House took place on December 7th 1997 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The event featured Triple H taking on Sgt. Slaughter in a boot camp match, the first ever PPV meeting between The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, and the show was main evented by a WWF title match, Champion Shawn Michaels defending against Ken Shamrock.

Was this before Jeff Jarrett went to WCW or after because I know he came back I didn't know he had returned to WWE I remember he was in the four horsemen for a short time I can't remember

As much as I'm not a huge fan of the character, Jarrett only ever clicked with me on a visual stance when he started being the women-hating "Slapnuts" character in WWF. Also, not sure what podcast it was I heard it from, but I cannot ever look at Jeff again without thinking he looks like Gordon Ramsey's stunt double.
HBK's DX attire was enough reason for me to buy the action figure version of it via a pre-order before people started overcharging for that figure on eBay.
Props to Sarge for being game enough to bump around like that.
I actually enjoyed the bootcamp match (I thought it was the 2nd best match on the card after the main event).

@@TheGillenium I felt the IC Title match was too short to really get good (presumably it was due to Austin's neck so I can't really blame anyone for this).
Iv just watched the PPV and Slaughter vs HHH was honestly my favourite match of the night
Despite how lackluster this show was, it was the debut of my favorite HBK gear.

Fun Fact: We Ordered this PPV from my Local Cable Station and we didn't know but we were put into a drawing and we ended up winning a T-Shirt.... We got a size Medium Golddust T-shirt....Best Oil Rag we ever had. lol
Slaughter's corner bump is a thing of beauty and needs to be stolen by someone.
Claudio did that in WWE and messed up his tooth. I don't think anybody has done it since then. But people like Dolph used to always do that too
This is the best DX attire Shawn Michaels has ever worn. I know there's WrestleMania XIV attire but that was okay, but the IYH DX attire is the best one.

@@jamiepasquariello2652 true but it was 2 wwf generations later, the wrestling landscape was way different so it felt like a much longer time had passed as the product had changed so much. also time seems to go more slowly when you're a kid watching this stuff i suppose.
Same when you consider the way WCW guys of the same age were doing things I gave him massive credit for the bumps he took during the match

We didn't know it at the time but Vince was just indulging in a bit of post modern interpretive booking with the gang wars stuff. He was trying to make a point about the pointless futility of gang violence. It was a point well made.

I was lucky to grow up rurally. I still remember my fear of the big city of Fresno nearby because I'd been warned about gangs. But, gang violence only touched my life once until I moved to a more populated area. Thank you for sharing.

Another great video. The difference between NWO Souled Out and The D-Generation PPVs is that WWF had Steve Austin and the Rock in their stable.

You know it was always weird to me. The episode of RAW were LOD won the tag titles from the Godwins, it was supposed to be them proving that they still had it and were not past their prime. Then just a few weeks after, the story is that they are past their prime and they need to step aside for younger and fresher tag teams.

With Owen attacking Shawn Michaels at the end of the show, I’m surprised they didn’t have Owen challenge him for the title at the next PPV. Looks like he was getting over as The Black Hart.
Shawn didnt want to work with him because he was scared hart would try to get revenge for montreal.
He was very over but hbk being who he was X'd it which is sad because their RAW match was excellent
According to Bruce. They felt that undertaker vs hbk was more of a marketable match then Owen vs hbk
I don't know, Shawn and Undertaker had the hottest fued in the entire business at the time and it was all leading up to crowning Steve Austin at WM 14. Owen was a great, great worker but he just wasn't a top guy in the United States.

At the time, wcw Starrcade was the only ppv I was allowed to buy for the month, snapping a streak of 16 consecutive wwf ppv's. I always knew that with dx in retrospect I didn't miss out on anything.
Except for Rock Austin, this was a very skippable show.

Praise Sky Sports. Starting with IYH14 Revenge of the Taker, we got all WWF PPV In the UK. Ironically back then the only ones we had to buy were the UK shows

It is kind of crazy how none of the ppvs named after Stars or groups work out. This, Souled Out, and 98s Rock Bottom all leave a lot to be desired and hell, Vader wasn't even booked on IYH: It's Time and that's his catchphrase.
The first Rock/Austin ppv outing, little did we know how fun the rivalry between the 2 would be and I think this is a food start to their long running feud.
But don't forget, the DX PPV series really turned out to be not this, but Fully Loaded, and those PPVs would have better cards than this one
No Chance In Hell did pretty well
Canadian Stampede was centered around the Hart Foundation, and was one of the best PPVs of 1997. It was named Canadian Stampede to pay tribute to the Stampede Wrestling promotion that was started by Stu Hart and in which Hart Foundation members Bret, Owen, Davey Boy, and Pillman spent their early years. And of course because it took place in Canada.
One of the highlights of this entire PPV was Shawn Michaels' black and green DX attire.

After this, it's officially Rumble season, when everything REALLY explodes for WWF. Can't remember when exactly we started hearing the Tyson rumors, but I remember that's when me and about 10 million other people started paying attention.
So that must’ve been when the big turning point in the ratings war was then. Sorry I didn’t grow up with this I was born in 2001. I know a little abt the mike Tyson stuff but not much
@@tylercox1875 Technically the turning point is a couple weeks after Mania 14 where Austin wins the belt, but the hype was all driven by the Tyson angle. It's really the most perfect use of a non-wrestler celebrity in the history of the business.

Love the channel brother. I ain’t watched any wrestling since the attitude era etc. And was a major WCW over wwf guy growing up when WCW came out hard. But when they died out I did go full wwf. just have to say thank you for all the walks back to memory lane. For real. Good times in life 🤘🏻

I won 3rd row tickets from a local radio station for winning a costume contest where I dressed as Raven. During the Butter Bean match, the top of the broken stool rolled into the barrier and I ran up there and took it. Young teenage Chad that that made me famous lol. Thanks for covering this, I've been looking forward to it

SUESS was born, & raised in Springfield, Massachusetts, & G.D. reading the "GREEN "EGGS & HAM" was PURE HEAT! I'm actually surprised that was lost on Our Host here! He's usually AMAZING with the research! I STILL live in Springfield, as a matter of fact, I live about 5 minutes from this building, & the street (Mulberry) & House where Theodore Guiesel (Dr. Suess) grew up, & penned His first book "TO THINK I LEARNED IT ON MULBERRY STREET"

That attire on HBK was fire. Also from what I heard, Owen and Shawn actually got along well behind the scenes, as opposed to Shawn and Brett.
Those shots to the face from Owen looked pretty damn stiff though, and Shawn had a little trickle of blood dripping from his nose afterward. I can't blame Owen for throwing a few potatoes in that situation.

Thanks for showing all the ppv and raw i missed when Brett left wwf. i knew i didn't miss much lol dx never impressed me as much as the nwo did. it's still funny to see that dx is now running wwe.
It's interesting, because DX and the NWO were essentially both splinter groups of The Kliq; Shawn and Hunter in the WWF, Nash and Hall (with Hogan) in the WCW. Hah, now that I think of it, Shawn actually alluded to this in a promo addressing Brett, saying something like "Don't confuse expansion with separation" or something to that effect.

This was my first wrestling show I ever saw as a kid our my brother brought me to the show for a Christmas present and I’ve been hooked ever since the pyros were a little scary as a 4th grader not to mention Kane but it was one of the most important nights of my life and I am soo greatfull to have attended it

I was never a Brian Christopher fan but have always cheered the Japanese Wrestlers when they are here on our soil. I hope they do the same for our guys when on their turf.

The antics of Marc mero and cheap shots had me rolling as a kid to be fair lol loved that part
only thing i remember from this was Stone Cold stunning D-Lo on the truck 😂 and man The Rock had ALL the heat 😂😂 and the beat of the Nation theme song allowed for fans to chant "rocky sucks" in unison 🤣🤣

I can't say enough good things about all the pre-match shenanigans to the New Age Outlaws vs Road Warriors match. I'm watching these shows alongside Wrestling Bios, and the way the Outlaws kept trying to dodge the fight, coupled with Road Dogg's running commentary and smack talk, had me in stitches. This segment was a great example of how pro wrestling is more than just the in-ring action, that the angles before and after a match can really elevate it and make it much more entertaining.
I know the attitude Era started after the screw job but this felt new generation

I was at this show! I was like 8 and had floor seats and Owen Hart ran down our aisle. I remember a guy patting him on the back as he ran by and freaking out that he touched Owen lol.
Also, Dr. Seuss is from Springfield, MA so there's the significance of that. Though I'm sure you already know.
