The Ryobi is great. Had it for a few weeks and already used it WAY more than I thought I would. It was great for cleaning up vinyl tile trimmings between cuts while doing my floor.

Thanks for the stik-vac review!! I saw this on the "new tool" list on the RYOBI website, and was on the fence on getting this for our vinyl floors in the house for the boss (wife), ... We have a Dyson stik-vac and not impressed, ... $$$$ as well. Gonna add this to my RYOBI collection as soon as Home Depot gets them in stock. Thanks again !!

I’ve gone through 4 Dysons. The batteries last 2 years and then they are garbage. And 3x the cost. External batteries, relatively cheap, great reviews across multiple reviewers. I’m just waiting for the new model to be released, the the Dyson gets binned!

Seems like this past year ryobi has really stepped up there line of tools. I'm just a home diy guy so I do have alot of ryobi tools and they haven't failed me yet. But the stuff they are coming out with now are far better than the past. Just my opinion tho.

Thank you for this review! I use Ryobi for work. My wife appreciates a variety of home use tool options using the same batteries. I don’t get the stink eye from her anymore when I buy Ryobi!

Small error, but the Ryobi is only .05 gallons less. Which doesn't sound like much as a number, but as a percentage, 20% sounds decently smaller.

I have been waiting for this thing for weeks, but no stock at Home Depot yet. Specifically, the PBLSV717. HD has the PBLSV716 in stock, but not the dual roller 717. Anyone have any idea when this thing will be on shelves? Cuz i need.

I have the single roller version of the Ryobi, we have had it for over 6 months now. It has REPLACED our big plug in vac. We can do the majority of our house with 3 4ah batteries. We has a dog that sheds a bunch. It has no problem with the fur. My only complaint is the high pitch noise of the vac. We use it every few days to keep up with the dog fur. I have not had to remove the roller for cleaning yet. I highly recommend this vac.👍👍

I'm a Milwaukee guy who recently jumped into Rye-Oh-Bee during their recent promotion. I am impressed with the variety of tools that they offer, especially at the price. I recently bought the Rye-Oh-Bee cordless heat gun and from all the reviews I read it performs equal to or better than the Milwaukee model... at almost half the price. Plus... Rye-Oh-Bee gives you the extra heat deflectors at no extra cost. Milwaukee charges extra for them.

I must had gotten a defective one because that exact tool is what caused my downhill spiral to being a crackout and Milwaukee fuel addict! But, I will say some tools by Ryobi are still my go to just because I don’t want to buy them again in Milwaukee fuel form. (Ie the max daddy 1/2 torque with 1350 ft lbs breakaway I think it is, the crown stapler and the heat gun)

I think the Ryobi one is more of a general catch all vacuum. while the Milwaukee with the extra filters and such is meant more for dealing with fine dust. the split bin with a large dust area and small large parts area, the double filters, being dry only. its meant for cleaning up dust and fine particles without spreading them around. in theory that is; i'd love to see a smoke test with both of these and see how much smoke they leak. see if that milwaukee really is fully sealed. i assume the ryobi will probably leak smoke. milwaukee im 50-50 on.
Im an at home DIY type. so i just have my dyson for general cleaning and fine dust. and the larger box cordless Milwaukee for my shop vac.

I bought early Ryobi vac thinking it would have the cyclonic filter. It didn't, and is practically worthless because the "filter system" clogs after seconds and looses vacuum. I keep hoping someone will after-market a replacement cyclonic filter. This is the only Ryobi tool that has disappointed, but I will not get the newer one.

  • @ToolHombre

They went to the Craftsman style filter housing.
Which was the right thing to do. Craftsman V20 design was Correct. Everyone should just copy it so we can all enjoy a solid cordless vacuum on their desired platform.

Question, how does the suction compare to the 2 previous models? I have the original which was ok, then the newer version with the "prefilter" that loses suction really 'quick like' Muhaha! So needless to say I don't use either regularly. I used to have a Dyson stick which really sucked! If you get me, but yeah that price tag! So is this one worth it now that the filter system seems to have moved to a cyclonic filter style system?
Mahalo and I really enjoy your channel!

@tool review zone - you would happen to be wrong. The M18 is a beast, but you HAVE to have two extra sets of filters cause you can clog them in minutes and they need time to dry after being washed. Seriously, you can pull dirt and dust out of brand new rugs with this thing!

@@ToolReviewZone It took time to adjust but it's been awesome last year+. A hook on the wall (Ryobi link) fixed the storage issue. It has a HEPA filter which other stick vacs don't. The old Ryobi stick vac is so loud and whiny and the new one is MUCH quieter. The single roller one I have does okay (I think you can buy other heads and switch), but doesn’t have as much suction as it claims. I am not happy that the accessories from the old stick vac don’t fit on this at all and on the old one you could empty the canister without having to remove it (if you try what he suggests the lid hits the bar and will only open a little on mine and the dirt falls toward the vac anyway). But if you have batteries it is a nice general purpose stick vac and overall a big upgrade from the old ones.

What amazes me is how much these vacuums from pretty much any of the big tool names costs. $150 is a lot in my mind. I rarely pay that much for a full-size standup let alone a dust buster type small one. Paying $200+ for one of these seems absurd. I use Makita tools and wouldn't mind getting one of their vacs if they weren't so freakin' pricey.

Have you seen much of a difference with standard 4.0 batteries vs the HP ones?

There's a saying: "competition breeds excellence". I'm sure the parent company has a fire lit under all their subs to turn out quality product ... or else.

Yea but that's an old saying. You say that now and someone will get BUTT HURT!!!!.. In today's world you gotta say.... "ohh it's ok, they are both just as good,,"... Smh

So you said they have to be light, portable and have great suction. Seems like red sucks more. So does it mean it's better? 😆

You’re the one; got me buying ryobi batteries for tools that I don’t even have yet. I said I’d never buy anything babyshit green and black. But them batteries are ridiculously cheap.

Stick vacuums have way to many issues I’ll stick to my ridgid 16 gallon shop vac and 50ft hose reel. Covers all my vacuum needs in the garage. Both great products but not for me.

I purchased that Milwaukee stick vac, and it's awful!
I thought i would be able to use it in my basement and garage... not so much. Any small material clogs in the hose, dust goes write past the seperator and gets into the filter. I have spent far more time cleaning the filtera then cleaning the floors.
