In this video we will cover 5 little known facts about Suzuki's high speed icon, the GSXR1300R Hayabusa.
So, sit back and enjoy as we dive into the details.

My 2008 made 239whp NA on pump 93 octane with ONLY a Carpenter Racing 240 setup that was sub 5,000 total with labor INSTALLED. Suzuki did an AMAZING job and underpowered the engine to meet emissions and shitty fuel standards. That plus the affordable price and legendary "firts 200mph bike" thing and being the biggest CC streetbike really made it an icon

Love love love my Gen 2 Hayabusa! But……as always, I have a need….a need for speed! So, I just placed an order for a Supercharger for her and I can’t wait to feel 350-400 hp at the rear wheel on my Hayabusa! Can’t wait!!

@@pumpedupbro4200 yes Sir, a friend who builds turbine powered jet boats is going to help me do the install.
The kit is due to arrive late next week so I’m super stoked!
Kit is avail from TTS-Performance and is $4400 BP-British Pounds. However it is recommended to replace the head bolts w super high strength head studs and nuts as you have to drop the engine, pull the head, and install a base gasket/ spacer to lower the compression due to add so much boost!

The kit arrived and looks amazing, now I’m just waiting for the parts to come back from getting Cerakoted gloss black to blend in w the side fairings and existing engine parts. Some folks might want to show off the blower but I’d rather hide it as much as possible and let the HP and quickness for the talking! There are plenty of bikes out there they are way faster than this will be however for me this will be a great street and strip beast with great linear power across all RPM’s and power right from the first crack of the wrist! I can’t wait….
Hoping to exceed the 400 Rear Wheel HP w MR12 or another oxygenated race fuel! Chris “Moore Mafia” will be doing the dyno work and tune once the install is complete! So the bike and I will be taking a trip to South Carolina to have Chris work his magic!!

Love my Gen 1 Busa... Would love to see a wind tunnel comparison of all 3 gens for the drag co efficient numbers. I find it hard to believe the Gen 3 is a lower co efficient of drag as compared to the Gen 1. However, looks can be deceiving... The Gen 1 looks like it is smoother and all 3 Gens keep the smallish rider in a smooth air flow area relatively speaking. Ram air differences? Would like to see that measured precisely at 186 mph... wouldn't you ?

As a Gen 3 'Busa owner, I love the design of the Gen 1, especially the front and rear looking at them straight on.
I do think it's ugly, but it's the kind of ugly that for me is aesthetically pleasing and satisfying to look at. I think, "It's not beautiful, but wow...look at how it looks. It's...so good."
Maybe I need a different word for ugly and stop thinking bipolarly. 😀

    • @pumpedupbro4200

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks like that. Gen 1 busa design is beautiful and i would prefer it over gen 2 and 3. I had 07 busa which got stolen few years ago. Now i have a gen 3. The gen 1 also weighed less. Only if suzuki can bring it back again with improved engine. But that's just a dream

Wow, 115 thousand Gen 1s sold worldwide, I always wondered what the sales numbers were but couldn't find them anywhere. Would be interesting to know how many Gen 2s were sold as well, likely even more. If so that means the Busa sales number must be up around the quarter of a million bikes, have to be a record for large capacity bikes. Sure postie bikes might have those sort of sales numbers but I can't imagine any other sports bike getting near that number. Proud owner of a schmik Gen 2 yellow jacket.

I'm just really Curious how it is I own a 2020 Hyabusa if you say they were on a production break and doesn't exist

    • @MotoChatter
      @MotoChatter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi bigredtruck42, thanks for your curiosity. It really depends on where you bought your bike. For example, in the US the Hayabusa wasn't able to be sold after 31st of December 2018, unless it was already in stock. This was because it didn't meet the required regulations, so no new bikes were sold, only the existing stock could be, so if you have a US market Hayabusa that was bought in 2020, it is most likely built in 2018 and registered in 2020. This will be true of other regions too, but it really depended on the regulatory requirements of that region, for example, in India the Busa continued sales of newly produced bikes into 2020. However, like I said in the video, there was a production break from 2020 until the 3rd generation model began production. I didn't say they don't exist by the way, and I don't know the exact month or day the last one rolled off the production line in 2020, but that was the last year you could buy a new one and from then there was a production break.
I hope that helps clarify and congratulations on your choice of bike, 1st, 2nd or 3rd Gen, the Hayabusa is a fantastic machine. Thanks for watching.
