Great performances but plot flaw to me is why the dog wasn't enough company for Buddy? And also who cared for the dog the days Buddy slept at the office?

Truly. Even Rob was acting gutless. If Buddy had stayed longer at their house, she should have made him scrape the eggs off the wall.
Dog watching his trainer so closely, he wasn't noticing the actors.
The really dumb thing about this episode is, the guest room was actually across the living room from Rob and Laura's bedroom, next to Richie's room, not adjacent to the living room at all.
Right, but we're generations removed from then- I remember we never thought about things like that when we were watching these when they first aired. Just enjoyed the fun.

The. Hypocrisy and lunacy of Hollywood and our society during this era to think that it might harm the sensitivities of Americana to depict a loving married couple sleeping in the same bed. What kind of marriage would involve two people as in love as Rob and Laura are portrayed sleeping in separate single beds?
TV standards back then were much higher and better than now. Hence, separate beds.
People knew they were not actually married would be my guess. I personally think society was better back in those days. People respected each other much more and parents taught their children manners and to respect their elders. It’s a shame that in these “modern times” people are acting so horrible to each other!

It was a TV network thing, the network considered a married couple sleeping in the same bed too risque. The first married couple on television to sleep in the same bed was Darrin and Samantha on Betwitched. Lucy and Ricky Richardo on I Love Lucy got around it a few times by having their beds shoved together. They couldn't even say the word "pregnant" on television, they had to say "expecting".
