This video is exactly what I was desperately searching for. I am 100% new to printing and Creality included basically zero instructions on how to get started or to print. Thank you for making this with such high quality instructions and detail. You the man!
Hey Vlad. I'm about 6 weeks into my exciting 3D printing journey, and I just realized something: Your old Ender 3 Pro unbox/setup video was one of the first videos I watched on the subject, and gets credit for convincing me to take the leap. You're putting out good stuff, and pulling more people into the hobby. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for doing this video!!! We have had our 3d printer for 6 months and just could not get it to work right. We were just crushed that it wasn't working. Showing how, where and what to adjust on the plate and rollers absolutely made the difference. I watched many videos and none of them mentioned the rollers and how to tighten or loosen. Thank you Thank you!!!!
AMAZING!!!! I was seriously banging my head on a wall last night trying to figure out my issue with printing - went step by step with you and printing my first project (the rabbit) successfully!!!
First of all i thank you for the video Vlad, it was extremely useful, well explained and complete. I also want to point out something critical in it so nobody else (or maybe another noob at 3d printing like me heh) gets hurt in the process. At 16:20 you tell us to loosen the adjustement nut, i do understand the need for a smooth movement but now the problem i got from doing so was a loose platform/bed, it was wobbling and messed my second print up. I did stress out all day believing that my printer had a factory defect but no, the solution was quite easy. Instead of loosening the thingy at 16:20 you need to be really careful or even TIGHTEN IT UP until your platform is stable and doesn't wobble. Cheers folks and i thank you once again for your video Vlad!
Rookie mistake: the Y axis didn't make that click noise, (started making a grinding noise) scoured the internet for answers, then moved my printer forwards and it turned out I didn't give the wire at the back enough space to move all the way back. Just posting this here in case anyone is trying to figure out the same thing, lol
Newbie here just got my S1, i had a very small childish printer send to me to try it out and in about 2 days i was so hooked up with this hobby! Really love it! BIG/HUGE Thanks to you Vlad for helping me out set up this nice Printer! Your video is really what we all starters and non starters need when purchasing something new!
Unlike 90% of these YT videos, this one is extremely well done and informative. One can actually see what you are showing, and even better, I can understand what you are saying. I will be setting one of these up tomorrow and this was a great help. I have to watch the last few minutes to be sure that you didn't, but about the only thing you didn't address was printing from a PC with a USB A-C cable. If that's the case, that might be a nice additional video. I've been printing from a PC on an Anet A8 for several years and prefer that to cards or USB thumb drives.
New to the hobby and picked up this model on the black friday sale. This was a great vid and will be watching through it a few more times once it shows up.
Thank you very much for your helpful video. I got an S1 from Creality refurbished on Amazon but it didn't come with instructions. This was able to help me set it up correctly the first time and achieve great print quality on my first time ever 3d printing anything. Thanks again!
I simply need to thank you for your help. This video saved me. I opened the box and almost cried 😅the instructions were terrible and I don’t think I could have done it without this video. Thank you so much!
This was really great. This is my first printer so I appreciate the in depth things to check beyond the assembly manual. You're a legend and this was super helpful.
By far the best most complete overview and basic tutorial I have seen. Thanks so much for making this. I will be sure to follow and support you in the future. I am on my way home with my first 3d printer and 3 rolls of filament to play with.
Idk is it just me, i swear the instruction paper was missing some steps. Thankfully I came across your video before i turn it on cause I definitely missed on connecting 2 wires, didn't know where to change the voltage, and have no clue about the leveling. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Awesome! Just got my Creality Ender-3 S1, and had some issues w setup and initial use (using the Creality docs and videos). Searching for help on TH-cam, I found this video. It soon became clear what the problem was (user error of course), and all is now well. Creality should pay you to make their unboxing and first use videos. Thanks!
just got this printer, possibly the last one anywhere as i can see at the moment. Microcenter even said they were out. On the way back to get a different printer altogether.... he found it misplaced and no one knew where it had come from. LUCKY ME! Yours is the first video I have watched on unboxing and review as im about to start my journey today! Awesome job and keep up the good work!
I'm getting this exact 3D printer and this video was so helpful. It was super satisfying to watch as well from setting it up to actually printing. Thank you!
Wow, I learned so much watching this video. My first 3D printer setup and print came out perfectly, your detailing was so helpful. 200x better than creality’s. Truly 3D printing intimidated the heck out of me, just reading anything about it, half the terms were unknown to me, I bought the printer and let it sit for a month because I truly dreaded putting it together. If I’d seen your video first, I’d have jumped on getting it done right away. Thank you so very much for all the detail and walkthrough, even the quick overview and explanations of controls, & adjustment recommendations for the programing on the computer really made working with this printer seem doable, lol!! 🎉🎉❤❤ Thank you very very much! I’m putting your video name in my Amazon review to help others like me!
This video might be the best way to display a 3D printer. I’m looking for my very first printer and this made feel very confident of my decision. Thanks a million.
Looooved how you went over the parts while saying their purpose and whether they were optional. Really helped put a goal and direction in my brain before the actual instructions.
33:00 Why do you need a handle on an already heavy heated bed...?? In the slicing software (Cura, Prusaslicer, Orcaslicer, Superslicer) it is enough to enter a g-code command to push the bed forward at the end of the print (G1 Y220 F3000). The main problem with bed slinger printers is the heavy weight of the bed...to increase it further is stupid...
I was too lazy to read the instructions and found this video. So glad I did, I learned a LOT more than I would have reading that pamphlet. And it was much more enjoyable. Thank you!
I put the instructions down and watched your video. Got it going. I have a few other Enders even though I am still very new at this. You helped get me started with this printer easily. Thanks. Rabbit printed fine but there is a bitcoin looking gcode with Ender on it that I had to tweak with some to get it to stick. Plain white PLA. I managed. Like the duo z rods and direct path from the spool to the extruder. I have so much to learn and promised to not buy anymore 3d printers after this one. Lol.. I use all my printers.. I love how easy you are to understand. Please keep making these videos for noobs like me.
hey dude, when we compare the creality ender 3 v2 neo with the Creality Ender 3 s1 print quality, which one do you think is better v2 neo can print at 0.05mm layer height, s1 is 0.1mm layer height. I'm thinking of buying the v2 neo because it's both cheaper and more up-to-date.
28:47 What?? Does anyone know how he raised the printer after "disable stepper." I tried pulling on it after hitting this option and mine wouldn't budge!
I SHOULD'VE WATCHED THIS VIDEO FIRST! This is my first ever 3D printer and I built it straight out of the box with the included instruction manual...a manual that was apparently made for ants since I had a hard time reading the microscopic prints! Either I missed some essential parts or it was omitted from the book but I connected the wrong cables to the Z- Axis motor. So when I chose the leveling option as per instruction the motors creaked out loud like an old car and dragged the print head across the bed. Now, here's a scratch mark running right in the middle of my magnetic plate! I took a break and finally watched this video. I discovered the mystery cable still taped to the base is the actual connector to Z-motor. It ran smoother and quietly as it should but it still took me a couple of more hours to solve the failed prints(the print head was way too high from the plate).
@@jacobholmes8982 TH-cam was my fix. I started adjusting the bed level using the paper technique at optimum bed heat so the early failed prints begin to get less. The early failed prints still pop up occasionally because the bed's height fluctuates with the heat and messed up the calibration. Failures or errors past the early layers, however, are a bit harder to explain. Currently, I'm facing a particular filament that is giving me a lot of headache. It blocked two hot ends and fused one of them.
Just got this for £219 a Black Friday deal! had to cancel the V2 Neo i had ordered but they are the same price and this one looks load better. Hhope ive made the right descision!
, I am Daniel from London I just have to say I I am so impressed with your video. I've just bought one of these and you have helped me so much you explain so easily and simple. Awesome video. I used it to set mine up. The problem I’m having is leveling the bed I manually level three or four times and then set a Z offset and Ron auto leveling readjust, the Z offset at the end, and when I come to print the nozzle is either dragging on the plate or about 3 mm off so I am constantly adjusting it in the beginning of each print. I tried the leveling process know multiple times but it’s the same outcome, it’s driving me crazy. When I go through the leveling process everything is perfect. I click on auto home and bring Z down to zero, and every single time zero stops at a different place than where auto leveled but most of the time it sits right on the bed, so I have to check before each print if not, I will drag the nozzle. I use the PA sheet and when he drags it damages the nozzles subcontractor nozzles already because I forgot to check the leveling before printing.
I have a question about this ender 3 S1? I have this ender 3 S1 and I don't know if I can see anywhere on the screen during printing which layer is being printed at that moment. Is that visible somewhere?
Are you going to be using the Sonic Pad with this? Could you show an install with it on this and how you'd mod a PrusaSlicer profile for it for tuning and all ?
When you start an ender print, it does a line of filament from front to back to purge the nozzle, now when you pause a print, and want to resume, and the print you've paused is higher in hight than the gantry does it still do that filament test from front to back on the bed again because if it does the arm will hit the print?
I want to swap out the touch screen on my S1 Pro for the V2 display with rotary knob. Is it a simple plug & play? Or will there be additional steps required?
Hello Vlad i bought the Creality Ender-3 S1 and i have been trying to do test prints but the cooling fan touches the print and then knocks off the print from center. do you have any suggestions to fix this from the fan moving the print?
This is a great tutorial, however the slicing software seems a lot different now, unless it because I’m on a Mac. Anyway you could do an updated video with the updates software? I don’t see any of the settings your talking about.
Very nice but too perfect from an expert who does it in his sleep. E.g. When putting in filament into extruder you must have heard about people having problems with inserting this. It would have been great if you could have included possible errors or problems and how to fix them. My filament did not go in beautifully and now I am off researching ...
So I'm not going to make a dig or anything but I'm new to 3D printing... as in I brought my 3D printer a few days ago.. Hey Vlad, Your videos are my go to when it comes to 3D printers. I spent the morning looking high and low for the E3 S1 bed handle file. Go figure why Creality named it “shaking hands”? I finally found it and printing it now. I own three Creality printers, CR-10 Smart Pro, E3 S1 Pro, and E3 S1 and they were all very easy to setup and run especially after I watched your step by step video. The all run 24/7 with very few problems. Still working out a few adhesion issues but it’s part of the learning curve. Only printing PLA for now until I figure out recipes for TPU and PETG. I’ve recommended your videos to others on Facebook. Thanks again!
He demonstrated that bed leveling, but I wonder if you have to store the Z axis value after tuning in. He did not showed it. Is it automatically stored? Because if not all these settings are lost when powering off, giving you some nasty surprises when powering on and start printing without checking the Z-axis. I very much like to buy this printer. I guess it's a tad less modifiable then the standard Ender 3, because it looks like you cannot replace the motherboard for another brand like BigTreeTech. However - There seems to be a very much improved (open sourced) version of Marlin firmware available, so you can at lest do some tweaking (unlike the Ender 6, 7 and Sermoon printers that only have closed source firmware, what is definitely holding me back to purchase them).
i got the s1 plus and of course the sd card reader wont work strait out of the box. very common problem the chat bot auto finishes and reply's with send us proof as soon as you ask for support. idk if ill ask for support from them, seems quality control is complete trash.
This was a great video. It helped me a lot. Do you worry about fumes with PLA? Should I take precautions when printing in my living space? I am new to 3-D printing.

Your videos are my go to when it comes to 3D printers.
Buy an item called a Tidy Pen to remove glue residue, also handy for cleaning marks off surfaces.
I did not get an SD card with my Ender 3 S1 so I did not get that handle file. Do you know where it could be downloaded from?
very great video I really enjoy your video on the printer
It's my personal opinion,
CREALITY has more FDM 3D prints than SLA 3D prints
I think I'm good at making it
This one or the Ender 3 V2 Neo?
I hope this video helps because all I'm getting is stringy items.
i got the s1 plus and of course the sd card reader wont work strait out of the box. very common problem the chat bot auto finishes and reply's with send us proof as soon as you ask for support. idk if ill ask for support from them, seems quality control is complete trash.
Thank you! Saved me a lot of time!❤
How did you get the display screen to auto black out?
Btw well described video. 👍
This was a great video. It helped me a lot. Do you worry about fumes with PLA? Should I take precautions when printing in my living space? I am new to 3-D printing.
Can you please share tha red one stl files sir it's nice i love it
This video is awesome, thank you very much for the explanations
