    I have the original one and the only thing I don't like is how it blocks the air. A little known fact is that on your Tesla Bluetooth settting , you can pair the audio passthrough with BTSLA ID. So, when you link up BTLINK, the Wifi automatically triggers CP-WIFI, which then connects BTSLA. It's the weirdest set up and I don't understand why they don't even mention in the direction on paper or screen.

    2. How well can you use the functions of CarPlay when the steering wheel is in the way? I use TH-cam Music and I assume you would still need to use the phone to change albums for example and therefore having the app on the screen is only useful for making it easier to see what song/artist is playing.

      Never actually have CarPlay connectivity issue unless you try to set up more than one phone then the display will get confused. If you just set it up to one phone then shouldn’t be any issue. As for audio, it will default to the display speaker every time you connect but can just change the out put on your phone to car speaker.

    Looks like it blocks too much air flow. That's the biggest issue with just about all of these aftermarket gauge clusters, unless you get the smaller ones that mount directly onto the back of the steering wheel. I don't think the included air diffuser is really going to solve the problem.
    Another issue is that if you ever need to take your car in for service, these kinds of upgrades that mess with the electrical will void your warranty. You have to remove and reinstall everytime, that would get annoying.

    Great product and install. One tip. On the wiring you should use zip ties or velcro straps. The adhesive on the tape is going to breakdown over time or quickly.
    I like these units. I don't particularly need it in my Model Y but I sure do wish Android Auto was built in to my Tesla....

    The only benefit of this one over build in Tesla is CarPlay and AA.

    Wish we didn't have to do this all ourselves and have Tesla do it standard :3

      I believe it’s for the cost and to streamline their production process. Also easier to service with only one display.

    will this void Tesla warranty? anyone with experience from Tesla? TIA

    • @dadstoyscars
      @dadstoyscars  ปีที่แล้ว

      This display is a plug and play unit which you can remove any time you need to. It's not permanently connected to the car. For that being said, I don't think this would void the warranty.
