My opponent hit Etail, Primal Conqueror, and it exiled my entire deck and I died from having no cards in my deck.

As a f2p arena player momir is one of my al time favoriete formats. Its always free, it doesn't require a lot of skill and its a lot of fun to watch/play.🙂

But seriously though I’m F2p (doesn’t keep me from playing MOST of what I want) but something about momir makes me drop it all and grind it out. Love this format. Ended up booting MTGO back up not too long ago to crush a few games.

On Magic Online, you can play with the Momir Vanguard, the Jhoira Vanguard (which gets random instants/sorceries), and the Stonehewer Giant Vanguard (which gets random equipment) all at once. It's pretty fun. I haven't done it in years, but still looking to play if anyone reading this is interested. All these Vanguard cards cost basically nothing to buy.
Honestly love Momir content, brings back good memories of MTGO

I think Serra’s Emissary is probably the best card in Momir. But 7 drops can be rough

there are actually some really good 7 drops, like platinum angel, agent of treachery and etali, which just wins the game instantly
My opponent rolled Toxrill after I got Platinum Angel and I couldn't get an answer to it lol
The Arena Momir used to have a deck with some "interesting" creatures mixed in... But I think it would be more fun if the deck had like 20 combat tricks in it.
On the draw starting on 2 mana should be the correct strategy. This allows you to get to 8 when playing a land and a creature every turn, maximizing your chances of hitting Avacyn.

I hit a Nyxbloom Ancient for my 7 drop, and proceeded to cast eldrazi the next two turns before my opponent scooped.

With 7's you have Etali (insta-win), Cultivator Colossus (1-turn clock), Serra's Emissary (insta-win most likely), Atraxa, Hornet Queen, Agent of Treachery, Zopandrel, Ghalta and Mavren, Platinum Angel, Koma, Elesh Norn, Ancient Gold Dragon, Dreadfeast Demon, Sephara, Angler Turtle, Pursued Whale, Junkwinder, Demon of Loathing, Dusk Mangler, Herald of Anguish, Sheoldred Whispering One, Toxrill, Angrath's Marauders, Phyrexian Fleshgorger, Terror of Mount Velus, Balefire Dragon, Drakuseth, Terror of Mount Velus, Ancient Bronze Dragon, Pelakka Wurm, Rampaging Brontodon, Titan of Industry, Thorn Mammoth, Zopandrel, Treeshaker Chimera, Omnath, Lord Xander, Soul of Emancipation, Meteor Golem, Terror Ballista, and Threefold Thunderhulk as insane hits, with many of the ones I listed in the beginning as game winners.
Besides those, there's just a lot of decently sized fliers.
With 8's you have Avacyn, End-raze forerunners, Sundering Titan, and Craterhoof as game winners. Griselbrand, Rakaseth, Vilis, Vorinclex, Cityscape leveler, Zetalpa, Ancient Silver Dragon as insane hits. There's far fewer 8's, so you have a roughly 1/10 chance to hit something that more or less ends the game on the spot. However, there are quite a lot of 7's that also end the game on the spot, there are more fliers, and there is a surprising density of very solid hits. Stuff like Pursued Whale and Angler turtle that force your opponent to attack suck in constructed because of not having an ETB, but I imagine they'd be quite effective in this format. The average p/t for 8 is a bit higher, but I think there are enough insane hits and game-winning hits that 7's might be better, especially since topping out at 7 gives you an extra creature earlier in the game. It also just seems more fun since a lot of the good 7's are cards that never saw constructed play but can shine in a no-removal format.

The scary one on 7 in modo was always Phage. 7 is probably good on Arena, plat and all that.
An opponent of mine hit an Avacyn in one game making it impossible to win, then in the next I drew Platinum Angel so things do even themselves out
So.. .I just played a game where the opponent got a Tergrid.
You have to discard to get creatures... xD
The only issue with 6 mana on MTG Arena is Demonlord Belzenlok, which is an instant defeat if you cast it. Scryfall says there are 347 6 mana creatures on Arena so in theory, you should be safe however, I have lost 4 games from Belzenlok so I tend to avoid 6 even though I love the flying creatures in there.
Been playing this, rolled a Sundering Titan for 8 and blew up 5 oppo's lands 😂

My only real strategy is don’t play any thing until 3 mana. Momir is truly playing the slots. If they hit and you don’t, scoop quickly and move on. Get your ICRs and get out.
It's only a sample size of 3 games but I have won every game easily by holding off on starting to make creatures until my opponent starts. Logic is that more expensive creatures are generally better but you don't want to get too far behind so you just want to be slightly greedier than the opponent.
momir is genuinely some of the most fun I've ever had on arena
I absolutely can’t stand this event, just frustratingly go through it to get the rewards. Different strokes for different folks I guess
12:44 Wouldn't really say all 1-drops are bad. My opponent in my first game today made that red 1-drop that taps itself and gives haste to other creatures. Got completely wrecked by it giving every big thing haste.

I find most of the good hits are at 7 so I usually stop there, but this week I lost two games in a row to opponents who got to 8 and hit Avacyn angel of hope
How does he have everything crafted? Just an abundance of resources or money? Or special streamer rights?
he had all the non-mythic rares from MKM a week ago, just from drafting

he just plays/wins more than most
you can go infinite with 4 win decks
He drafts all the time
His job is drafting, that gets you a lot of cards.
9 is meta 9 is i think the best mana worth to spend for the creatures u get especially zacama
There's a lot of prototype creatures and emerge creatures, don't think 9 is where you want to be. 7 looks to have the greatest density of high rolls and in general just has a lot of good sized fliers.

few years ago 9 was auto win because u always hit the dinosaur but now they added more stuff

i feel often tehre are more RAID then HASTE u get on some levels so often attacking first is better

I mean - could have attacked with the 3/4 impulse draw or deal 3 when attack and 4/2 deal 2 to any target when die and let the blocker do the rest of the math.
Remember - in Karlov Manor attacking is the right thing to do and blocking is a crime.
momir has cards on arena that are not in any format not even timeless that u only have in momir coded
On arena it's better to stop at 7.

Dude, I always give the Timmy’s shit for blaming the shuffler for flooding/ land variance causing them to be a below average player and losing games going 0-3 constantly because of it. Playing momir I finally got hit with it and man. It seemed like all I did was draw land after land after land. I guess the cry babies were right. They arnt bad at magic, it’s definitely something wrong with everything else. 😂😂😂😂😂
I hate Momir with a burning passion.
