    I absolutely love hill sprints and have seen huge improvements in terms of explosive speed and overall cardio improvements when I play competitive sports. If you do not have a nearby hill, you can put a treadmill on an incline, which works quite well too. Let's go! You won't regret this training. 1% better everyday. You go this.

    Great video.
    I read Bartolo Colon's book and he talks about walking up and down hills as a kid in the Dominican Republic which built his legs and made him a dominant pitcher.
    I applied that knowledge when I wanted to lose weight. There is a steep hill in my town and I would walk up and down it for three to four miles a day. Once I got comfortable enough I started running it. Eighty pound later, I'm a firm believer in hill training and running in general.

    Both ways are needed. Soft sands also good for hip flexors and leg turnover

    There was this steep ass hill I’d do sprints up which took only 8 seconds, but at least a 50-60 degree incline. It’d take about 10 seconds to walk back down and 20 seconds later I’d go back up. Did that about 10 times and just huffing and puffing the entire time. But I can’t remember any other time where I felt fit as can be, and flat treadmill running felt so easy thanks to that increased speed and conditioning

I'll sprint a hill which takes like 15 sec or so, briskly walk to the next one which takes like 30-40 sec, and keep repeating until I reach the last hill on the top level. Then I take the stairs back down to the bottom and repeat the gauntlet. Go through it 3x in 35-40 min.

    I was a defensive end who didn’t start playing football till my 11th grade year and I regret it. Hill springs and power cleans were the only workouts I focused on. I ran 25 hill sprints in the morning and 25 after practice. I was 6’3 and ran a 4:38 40 at 260 but I didn’t understand the game of football so all that talent was worthless. I promise you he is telling no lies.

      No possible way you were that big while being that fast. Any college in America would have picked you up, no matter how well you didn’t/did know the game. They’d have taught you very patiently. These numbers are e-stats

    Often when people use professional long distance runners and professional sprinters physiques as examples of why not to jog, they are not looking at the full pictures. Both of these are at the top of their fields. Marathoners for instance run at 5:00/mile for a full marathon. That is almost inhuman for most of us. In order to achieve that, we would have to have very low body weight. On the other hand if all you want is to lose some body fat and gain some cardiovascular fitness, you need not run that fast for that long. Jogging can have great health benefits. Why not do both. Sprint and jog, to become a more complete "athlete". Develop both power and endurance.

      @paulsimpson8255 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jogging builds up stamina long term but you need to vo sprints as well for short term indurance like wen fighting you can use a hell of a lot of energy very quickly but as the round ends you can recover quick so jogging long is good and sprints is good too i always look to be fighting fit as you should have both long an short fitnesss

    One thing to clarify with hills. You don’t want the “turnover” motion. You want to PUSH up the hill. Don’t cycle.
