Good video. I’m 67 and do a lot of Taekwondo and gym work also I’m a fun runner usually twice a week including park run. Would this workout help with the activities I’ve mentioned Cheers

I keep commenting on these videos, the information is just too solid. Quick question again Coach, this upcoming season I’m playing like a LB/SS position. I’m essentially in the box but I have a lot of extra zone and man coverage responsibilities in our new defense. I’ve been working on my size and strength. Going from 200lbs to 215lbs so far, aiming to get up around 225lbs to 230lbs. I was wondering if I should keep focusing on strength, size, and power gains until April. Then switching over to speed, change of direction, and position specific drills until the season. Or do you think I should keep size and strength as my focus until June.
As for strength gains: Bench: 285->340 Squat: 425-> 460 Power Clean: (I just started training this my HS didn’t drill it) 250 My metrics: (current) 5’11 215lbs 40 Dash: 4.67 37: Vert 225 Bench: 15 reps
Question: Does the surface used for the drill matter, in terms of specificity? that is, if the athlete is playing on a grass surface, should they be doing these drills on grass as well?
This could be implemented about once a week or once every 2 weeks into an offseason program with majority of focus rest of week on strength building and technical refinement
Hey Coach, Biggest fan here from Brazil. A quick question about hill sprints, Would I have the same benefits if I did them on a treadmill? Do you recommend doing them on a incline treadmill?
Aren't these reps a bit too long? He's gonna get tired real quick and subsequent reps are not going to be done at maximal output (so it becomes more of a conditioning session).

Love this channel, but really enjoyed the weight room analogy. Really helps put speed work into perspective for meatheads like myself

@@GarageStrengthsir can it also help for wrestling endurance 😅 pls reply
Could you do something like this on a incline treadmill?
Just the sprint itself. The change of direction drills will not translate to a treadmill, unfortunately.
YESSIR been waiting for this !

i think hill sprints on glass in general are better than anything, its better on the joints and works the smaller foot muscles
@@kerwynwilliams3182 no hill sprints on sand are the best way
How often would you schedule this type of acceleration work into your programming?

outside better believe me
Sooooooo good

How many sets and reps for each e exercise?
We did 3 to 4 of each set each side and 5 to 6 sets for the single start sprints
@@GarageStrength thanks. And how much rest in beetwen?
@@simo_03roma4 About 1.5 to 2 mins including walk back

Does this hill workout apply to sprinters?
Hey Dane, why do you call straight leg bounds "Deons"?
Took them from Deion Sanders, guess they should be Deions lol

How steep of a hill?
Where is your location?
Fleetwood, Pennsylvania 💪
@@GarageStrength Thanks! I am having a hard time finding a hill here in Florida.
@@brianbachmeier34 same here in Massachusetts. Only grass hills nearby are industries or golf courses.
Any concern about a car coming over the hill???
