Thank you Chris for this great review of this EXCELLENT car. I have the 2023 GV60 Performance…and after having Tesla 3 and Y, Polestar 2, this is by far my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE I love the looks, performance, and the build quality second to none. It is fast and comfortable all at once…The face recognition and fingerprint reader are phenomenal. And it even has a crystal ball. I LOVE THIS CAR. THANKS AGAIN.
Thanks Chris for the great review as always. I talked to a GV60 driver a few months back after seeing one parked up and he was very happy with it. Visually the external design did look good and I also thought it was a Mercedes EQ* when I saw it. As an Ioniq 5 MY22 owner I recognise many of the features but the GV60 luxury/performance obviously goes to the next level. Not saving i-pedal setting is something I read is due to government regulations in various countries on what the car should default to on restart. It is a bit annoying losing it when you change from drive to reverse and back but it is something you get used to🙂 Wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay are not available with the Gen5W navigation system used by Ioniq 5 and GV60 cars and from what I read it will never be added. It is delivered to cars with the ccNC navigation system which includes Ioniq 5 N and new Kona.
I have a GV60 Advanced and am getting 300+ mile combined range and 260 mile highway range. Out of spec got 235 miles 70 mph highway on the performance, which is the EPA rating.
Electric motor vehicles are meant for solid simplicity but this model has so many complex “folly systems” that can and will easily break. The squeak n rattle is my biggest PTSD bugbear with cars (early KIA guy ☹️) excepting Toyota and Mazda endemic in big asian mass car makers. Ok for low speed big city realities but our ever deteriorating Australian road system screams demands the robustiness superpower. it worries me that they know this and warranty AGAINST it EVEN IN luxury models. All in all it despite your glow on this one i forsee it as a “Chequebook at the Ready Ownership” more than sound n solid environmentally focussed
@@chrisvanderstock recently the group has had a significant number of genuine recalls and pretty basic manufacturing failures. The Chinese would have been eviscerated for such performance. Fandom is blind.

I have a GV60 and it is an amazing car. The phone connectivity is available on all models currently for sale in Australia (the early 2022 models did not have it). The car also comes with a free home wall charger (I am able to charge at 11kw/h at home). I have done both city and a long 2,500km road trip and my efficiency is averaging about 18 kw / 100km. I am very happy with the car.
Sure it looks really nice, but is the 30, 40, 50k + above a Tesla or BYD or other worth it? Given what's available and the FBT etc benefits, I couldn't see myself paying above ~75k for an EV. Like really, over $100k for a Hyundai? How many do they sell, how many dealers are there? If you did have an accident, how long to get parts in?
@@chrisvanderstock I enjoyed your review... I just looked it up, and it appears they are in fact using genuine Nappa leather... so I take back my previous comment. I assumed from your review that it was made with fake "vegan" leather, or in other words plastic. Thanks Chris.

Thanks for these notes Lynn. Lovely car, beautiful to look at and drive, just some minor issues taint what is a great car.
Definitely the nicest car I've ever been in, Thank you for letting me
No problem 👍
Have been lucky enough to drive a GV60 and really enjoyed it. However the lack of range was the killer for me. Great review as usual Chris. Thank you.
Thanks Kevin, it was very nice car indeed.

I used to see the Hyundai Group as being utterly reliable and long term trustworthy………. Not so much today
Same - Hyundai in the 90s was a car brand I avoided. Now, they're one of my top recommendations.

No leather = no thanks. I like a car that doesn't have a nauseating plastic smell and vegan vinyl seats
Fair enough - it's a pricey car.
