Södermalm my beloved!! I had the extreme luck and privilege to be staying in Stockholm for 6 weeks many years ago, and my apartment was in Södermalm! I LOVED walking around and exploring the area - my apartment was very close to Vitabergsparken so it became my standard ''walk in a park'' destination. I went with a friend to have lunch at Hermans, went to see an opera at Folkoperan, spent a day walking around Tantolunden... oh the memories! Thanks so much for this Julian!
I have an apartment in that area! That little park was where we’d have picnics in the summer, take our dog for a run and just have the best time. The building was built 1925 and there are no elevators. We recently moved out just over a year ago and we miss it so much!!
this has honestly become one of those videos i rewatch over and over. and now i have a burning fiery urge to visit södermalm at least once in the next two years. thanks, TFS
Now my list of slappee endeavors I wish come true has increased from one to two: - The makeup channel (I will NEVER leave you alone) - Fake cheese business
I lived in Stockholm twice. First between 81 and 82, and then between 89 and 92. At first we used to live more in the suburbs, in Hägersten, then we moved to a more central (and fancier) neighborhood, Vasastan. I enjoyed your somewhat sarcastic view on Stockholm and their people, you nailed it. Grattis och tack så mycket!
Hey. I just wanted to say that you have literally Perfect Videos! Your manner of talking and the visuals are something I'll be trying to emulate if I ever get around to starting my own channel :D
Hilarious xD as always. Love the way you make fun of the pretentious Stockholmers ;-) ... All in all a premium video with actual exploration tips in the end
I ended up in Mosebacke by accident! :D By following a staircase... Trying to find fresh air and peace away from the city centre x) Anyway: Grazie for the lovely video! :D

how sad it is for me to (kinda) fall in love with södermalm at first sight but got stuck in the north for a month of visiting stockholm 😅this vid makes me wanna give södermalm a chance before deciding to move south (of sweden) for good
If you would make a new video about the suburbs of stockholm i will appreciate if you include the newer part with the newest real estate (apartments, houses…). And how much time it needa to come in the city center. Thaks!
Hi, snob from Danderyd here ;-). I am quite fond of some places you showed, especially DOVAS with the cheap beer hehe. Sadly I have not made it to Southside yet, although I passed by it. If you want to have a propper pint in there with me I would be up to it. It always like to check out new places to get obliterated.
@@FluffyPoopPrincess No problem. It's always nice to talk to an actual swede. Even though I live in Stockholm I have not met that many. Honestly, no clue in which hole you guys are hiding. Even in my master's the is only 1 out of 9 Swedish.
Yep, Moosebacke is great! Also, the area where the Girl With the Dragon Tatoo lived. The views from Söder out over the rest of Stockholm are the best views in town. You can stand there admiring the view and talking shit about the fuckers over in Stureplan. What could be better?
Warm wishes on New Year to all of our wonderful and very special friend. ❤ May you have a meaningful and successful year 2022 that brings you many joys and great big smiles! 😁
I found out the word for island in Sweden is "ö." Part of me is like, that is really easy while another was like, come on Sweden, you guys could not have used more of a creative word!
I did the opposite. I moved to söder om Söder from Södermalm were i grew up. People asume a lot when i say I’m from Södermalm since the haven’t experienced the pretty rough blocks before our politicians sold out all our apartments to the highest bidder. It’s fun when you drink beer every weekend but I don’t miss living there now.
@@FishSlappee Oh, just because when I double checked on Google translate it said “rock” or “ore” maybe depends on context. Also, I think rock means “coat” in Swedish and jacket is “jackan.”
I love your videos. They do inform, but more importantly they entertain. You are fucking hilarious. I've always loved Sweden and your approach to explaining it and exploring it is just great. Plus, it doesn't hurt that you're really hot :)
Cool! I saw my building in your video. It’s from 1904 and the residents bought the building already in 1923. The working class identity of Södermalm isn’t really that old. A hundred years ago all of the neighborhoods of Stockholm were rather mixed - the gentry in the front apartments and the common folk in the back (’gårdshus’ in Swedish). It was the same in Södermalm. The big turn of the century houses on Hornsgatan and around Mariatorget were built for and lived in by the middle upper class of the day.
@@FishSlappee Always these cheeky moments in which you wonder why the f you commented something like "hello dad" to months ago under a youtube video about a city in sweden. Guess I have to rethink my life
Know Soderlmalm well, and you're close to spot on, but save the curse word placement to English speakers. It sounds like you're trying too hard .... lol
Dear Fish, Interesting guide to a part of Stockholm I like, although I was born in Vasastan. Only one comment: You don't need to use the word "fucking" or dereivates with such frequency in order to confirm your good English. It's overdoing it. Doesn't sound natural.
Damn. Why do I have to be such an outsider when I am clearly a Södermalm stereotype. A fish in its own pond doesn't need to shamefully stimm off around the internet with weird comments or remain a bonsai of a human creature. God's birth location placement coding is clearly darn bugging since a while, or maybe some vengeful hacker have been blinding around it in despair. Comment whatever do blah blah blah make a vegan's channel more visible cause well eccetera.
