Dread it, run from it, destiny arrives all the same. Patrick Mahomes is inevitable. After Mahomes won his third Super Bowl in six seasons, many are now asking how he stacks up historically with "the people's GOAT" Tom Brady. The definitive breakdown of the two players' careers:

@mattprssmn4 He's got more skill than Brady. More athletic, better improvisation, better arm, already two League MVPs, etc. Brady is great, has the most championships, but Mahomes is simply a better player on the field.
And if Brady had the decimated O-line Mahomes had in that Tampa Super Bowl, no way he runs over 400 yards behind the line of scrimmage trying to make something happen, attempting diving throws. Brady would have been sacked immediately.

@@michelleblanc6377 Brady has almost never in his entire career had a defense lower than the top 5. Brady's first 3 rings are directly because of his defenses and kicker. @@dalehammers4425 Never in 23 seasons had a defence that was not top 5. First if you said in his SB years and a top 10 I would say maybe. But what does it really change? You want to make the same insipid comment that you made on another one of my post that he won because of the kicker and the defence? Well let’s start at the beginning the 1st SB. He won during his rookie year as a starter this is something Mahomes failed to accomplish by the way. You do know that if he does not orchestrate a game winning drive to put Vinatieri in a FG position. They do not win. Period. You do realize that? For someone that pretends knowing football you seem to forget that during the SB against the Panthers early in the game Vinatieri actually screws up not one but two FG attempts early in the game before actually finally doing his job after Brady putting them again in FG position late in the game to seal the faith of that game. But yet you want to insist on the quality of the kicker? Do you want to insist on the quality of the defence during the game against Atlanta? Or during the Philadelphia/ Foles SB? Or the screwed up sack during the Tyree helmet catch? It is funny the Mahomes fans always forget to mention those. The same way they will not mention the lucky bounce that gave them a short TD against the Niners, the injuries to Greenlaw and Samuel or the missed PAT by the Niners kicker. But they will never forget to mention the Dee Ford penalty and the injured KC O-Line at SB LV. Tell me why you know what did not go your way but you always have no clue as to what did. As far as Brady’s defence goes considering how the KC season went this year and the way it might go in the future you will be hard pressed to find another argument because KC defence is going to be just as good as the Patriots was. Will we have to start saying Mahomes wins because of the defence?

Great spotlight on Mahomes's career thus far. I'm a 49ers fan, and even though this guy has ripped my heart out twice, he's certainly on an unprecedented pace. I'll always take Joe Montana if I could have one QB for any game, but objectively speaking Mahomes' greatness can't be denied. The only pushback I'd give to crowning him so early is that he certainly has some advantageous playing in the era that he does. I do wonder how well he'd be able to hold up if he was playing in a rougher era like the 80's or 90's even if he was on as good as a team as the Chiefs are now. We'll never know, but like with all of modern quarterbacks that thought crosses my mind. If Mahomes does the impossible this upcoming season by getting a three-peat, I'd probably be ready to anoint him as the best to ever do it. I feel like that's more impressive than 7 overall rings over 20 seasons.

I like to compare Brady and Mahomes to Kareem and MJ
Brady/Kareem- 7/6 rings, broke a bunch of records due to longevity, boring but effective play style Brady was the check down king and Kareem had the old man sky hook. Both won the majority of their rings not being the main contributor.
Mahomes/MJ- by MJ’s 3rd ring people were already saying he’s probably the GOAT, was dominating the league in scoring and was extremely clutch in the 4th quarter just like Mahomes. MJ/Pat have a very exciting play style doing things we haven’t seen before. Yea there are guys like Allen, Stafford, Jackson with exciting play styles just like Wilkins, Clyde Drexler, and Barkley but just like Pat Jordan stopped all those guys from winning rings.
The final similarity is Kareem was crowned the GOAT shortly after retiring only to lose it to MJ just a few short years later. I already feel like Pat is the GOAT but if he 3 peats he cements it.

It's longer, but let's call Tom's career as lasting 21 years, because then it's easy to see that with seven rings, he averaged one every three years. In his six-year career, however, Mahomes has won three, which averages to one ring every *other* year. That's a glaring difference, easy for even a 5th grader to see. Just goes to show that a well-trained, well-organized statistical set can say anything you want it to say.

So we not gonna talk about Tom Brady beating Mohomes 2 times in his 40's while Mahomes was and still is at that age where quarterbacks reach their prime. There are so many other factors why Tom is still the GOAT but yall youngins jump out of your set after he won 2 champtionships in a row. *cough* *cough*. Tom did that too. RELAX. Yall also think he the GOAT because he has terrible wr. So did Tom eldalmen wasen't even that good of a player. He just gets overrated because yes, he was catching footballs.BUT most of the time it was just Tom Brady throwing dimes. So Tom Brady has the same wr problem like Mahomes does right now. Also Tom won his first Superbowl in just his SECOND SEASON!!! Mahomes toke a minute to get one. Even with amazing talent. Hill, Kelce, amazing a line, good D line. Decent defence. and he still couldn't win for 3 years. While Tom did it in 2 with EXTREMLILY worse talent . There are way more points but we will be here all day. SOOOOO. Tom still the G.O.A.T, relax youngsters Mahomes still got alot of work to do. Ill consider him a treat to the new G.O.A.T spot if he wins 3 championships in a row

I thought about mentioning that H2H argument in the video but decided against it since it is literally the most braindead take a person can have. And Brady had some of the best luck in terms of easy playoff roads the league has ever seen: 2011 Broncos, 2016 Osweiler Texans, 2017 Titans, 2020 Washington, etc. All those teams had negative DVOA. As shown in the video, the road the 2023 Chiefs went on was statistically the most difficult ever.
