Agreed. I didn't have my team in the Superbowl so it was fun to just watch Mahomes in peak competitor mode without having to root against him. When he got the ball in overtime we were all like, this is it, this is what they've planned for, here we go. And then boom. They did it.

@@lovehate8286 Then that becomes the 2007 Patriots (Tom Brady's 8th season, 7th as a starter; Mahomes is entering both of those). They acquired Randy Moss, Tom Brady set passing records, they went undefeated, and then a plucky upstart team beat them in the Super Bowl. Fortunately, Steve Spagnuolo coaches _for_ the Chiefs so that latter bit shouldn't be an issue, but I could see the rest potentially unfolding that way with the defense as dominant as it is.

the play from last night I can't get over is the 4th and 1 in OT. How many teams would collapse under that pressure? How many players could handle that moment? And of course while we were all on the edge of our seats on that play, when Mahomes went for the run to pick up like 8 yards I think a lot of us were like "oh, right. They'll just do that." And we saw that from Brady plenty, but for the most part that's only something I've only ever seen from NBA stars in clutch moments from like Jordan, Bron, Curry etc. But to see it from an NFL star in the clutchest moments is nothing short of amazing.

In my opinion, Mahomes doesn't need to tie Brady 7 rings or surpass him with 8 to be called the G.O.A.T. (For me) all he needs to do is do 3 things Brady didn't do in his 23yr career. (1) Win next year's Super Bowl and 3-peat. (2) Win his sixth Super Bowl ring in half the time it took Brady***Brady won his sixths in his 19th Season. Mahomes just finished his 7th year as a player and 6th as a starter with 3 SB wins. So, all he needs to do is win 3 in the next six years. (3) Not lose multiple Super Bowls. *** Brady was 7-3 in SB*** If Mahomes goes 6-1 and retires in his 12th or 13th year as a starter. After just winning his 6th ring. He would walk off as the G.O.A.T.

Mahomes is an absolute beast. No one can deny that. If he retired today he would be a first ballot Hall of Famer. The question going forward is can the team keep this up once Reid inevitably retires.

Patrick is a truly great quarterback and at this rate will be the best ever but the NFL has pivoted to an offensive game which is great and not his fault ,it was a slightly different game even when tom Brady started but you can only play the game by the rules in your era so all the best to number 15

  • @CalienteQuack
    @CalienteQuack 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

the reason Brady was so "good" as he got older was the rules, it protected the QB and allowed the offense to flourish with the pass. with the same rules Mahomes will beat every one of Bradys records including Super Bowls

I know this is a little out of the scope of the topic but it’s insane how Joe Montana won with the niners and retired with the Chiefs. It’s almost like his magic was left there and passed down years later to Mahomes. I’m a die hard niners fan but I feel like we are the Bengals of 80s and the Chiefs are like the niners. It feels so strange being on the other side

I am sooo not tired when all they do is win win win :). I think they have a really good chance of a three-peat [ (c) Pat Riley ] Shaq and Kobe's Lakers were the last major sports team to win three championships in a row. Now Mahomes and Reid's Chiefs can try for it in 2025.!

Fatigue? What fatigue? With all due respect to the rest of America there’s no fatigue here in Kansas City! This “small market” that many on the coasts call “flyover country” lived through 50 years of being nowhere close to a Super Bowl! I get it though; I hated the Patriots during the Brady years too because it felt like they were inevitable….like the Borg from Star Trek where “Resistance Is Futile”. But now here are the Chiefs…and we just want to savor every moment.

    ⚠️ Warning ⚠️
Doubting the Chiefs has been shown by the state of Missouri to carry the following side effects:
    1. Winning seasons by the the Chiefs.
    2. Lamar Hunt Trophies returned home.
    3. Lombardi Trophies not seen by other NFL teams for years at a time.
    4. MVP seasons for Chiefs QB's.
    5. Super Bowl Rings given to Chiefs players during "rebuild" years.
See your doctor if you experience any of the following: poor performance by other NFL teams, lost games by other AFC West teams, belief in other QB's being better and / or death of your teams payoff berth.
Do not consume alcoholic beverages while doubting the Chiefs. Do not doubt the Chiefs while pregnant or breastfeeding, as this could lead to your child becoming a bitter Raider's or Bengal's fan.

He's going to be on every box of corn flakes on the grocery isle looking at you. On TV endorsing everything from insurance to socks. He'll be a regular on all the talk shows, and may buy his own sports team of some kind. It's just starting folks. Buckle up.

I can promise you this… Whether it be through the draft or free agency, I put all my money on Veach to find a receiver. We don’t need a superstar or #1 receiver honestly. Rice isn’t a #1, he’s the next Deebo and honestly just find another play maker like that and Pat will be just fine (I’m praying as a lifelong fan tho that Veach finds the next superstar in the draft or signs one). They do need to find a replacement for Trav, just someone young to come in and gain experience from Trav because gray isn’t the answer.

I think the problem with comparing Brady to mahomes in the beginning of their careers is not a good. The two problems I see is the differences in the era and coaches. Eras were offensively different. Brady’s era is was more of a run style offense and machines era is a high passing era. As far as coaches Andy has always had his qb at the highest statically in the league every year. They always had huge stats. Bill is a defensive coach and didn’t give much to the offense. And OC for NE weren’t the high passing coaches either during the beginning of Brady’s career. So the stats will be very scued towards mahomes. At this point.

Their team has proven what looks unbeatable on paper. Wilts in the spotlight of the big game. Titans? You want the next shot? Coach Callahan? Lol....and a bunch of very expensive free agents. Who t f'k is your QB? Malik Willis?...lol.
