I have owned G63 (2020) almost for two years and it has 50.000kilometres (about 36.000miles?) and I got to say, the built-quality is spot on in this vehicle. Entertainment system kind of "entertains" sometimes, a little... but that's all of the problems I've had. I live in Finland, so it tends to get cold and I don't own a garage to keep it warm. Just an amazing vehicle! Great you're enjoying yours as well! Love the brown wood!
Our dealer just offered a pretty penny for our 2020 E63 Wagon. I’m not tempted, MBUSA screwed us by discontinuing the 8s. I would never sell that G brotha
Your video reminds me that my big worry with my VW is that the drivetrain seems solid as a rock and should easily get me to 200k (am at 91k now), but the bolted-on electronic systems all seem janky as hell. Example: every now and again bluetooth fails and the only remedy is to reboot the car. I could end up with a car that runs and drives, but nothing else about it works.
I got a question bc I wanna by buy one in the next few months. Did you experience a lack of performance, like the car only using 420hp of the 585hp because I friend of mine had that happen actually. He had to turn the car off and on ago and then it was fine again tho.
@@youtoobe169 ok, thx for the quick reply but I meant like he drove many miles and after that he made a little drag race and on carwow there is a relatively new video where they put the m8 comp against the new rs7 perf and a gt63s and in the video the car was also already warm I would say and if you may watch it could you let me know about what you think please. They also had the issue with the car using only 420hp and then they restarted it and they had the full 639hp again. Do you think the car might be broke or do you thing that these things can happen bause it isn't only dangerous if you wanna overtake someone and the car somehow stops using full power but also I don't wan't my 200k mercedes not use its power.
@@v-klasse9448 I would recommend they take it to the dealer and see if it has any error codes. That's not normal. Only other thing I can think is it was overheating so the car reduced power, but that would all be in the computer.
Where did you hear they aren't making them... here 2 years after you made this video... and there are 2023 G550's/G63s and there are now 2024 Gs showing up for sale at dealers so that information was totally wrong.
That was correct at the time I made the video. There were several months where Mercedes would not sell G class in USA. Do a bit of googling and you can find this information.
@@youtoobe169 Ah.... funny thing with all the EVs..... they aren't selling for squat. I think Mercedes had talked about going all EV at some point like 2030 and those plans are thankfully nixed. EV's are just so sterile to me, like eunuchs of the car world. I'm hoping I might be able to swing one of these in the not so distant future. Saw another video with the 2025 models and they're even better than the update that happened in 2018.

Never had any issues related to power, but it is possible the computer may reduce power until engine is warm enough

If I remember correctly, I could get well over 20 MPG on the highway.
