    Ahh see I have been operating with the assumption that Radagon was a Shadow like Maliketh, but being a mimic tear makes more sense. He isn't her "shadow" he is her "reflection"
    This is rock solid in my mind.

    Best theory I've seen so far is that the target of the Black Knife assassins was actually the Elden Beast inside of Marika, but they accidentally killed Godwyn instead cause he has blond hair and it was dark at night too so Ranni got mad and locked away Alecto. I see no problems at all with this theory. No holes in it at all :^)

    Time loops. Radagon is a mimic tear because Marika is the perfected mimic tear the nox were trying to make. It happened before they ever did it because Marika shattered the ring later. I know that sounds awful, but by my reading almost every story in ER can do this, loop back in on itself in strange ways. Embracing the lore being a broken series of time loops and the lands between itself as a giant evergaol can lead to interesting lines of logic and makes room to explain how different "worlds" exist for each player, even

      As far as it being a "time travel" thing, that's not what I mean: The Elden Ring controlled the natural flow of time and space in the Lands Between, now that it's broken, time is experienced subjectively on a "by world" basis. When you run into a group of enemies, you're essentially fighting a time echo. That's also why they keep coming back. An Evergaol works the same way on a smaller level. Its how Farum Azula can be in the sky, crashed into Limgrave, and wherever that version you nap to reach is all at once. It's how we have 2 Vykes. It may not be time travel, but it is time-fuckery 💯

    I think we will almost certainly fight the Dragon god in the DLC because of how they describe them as having disappeared in the Placidusax items. Could be nothing like Gwenevere and the god of fire in DS1 but it also reminds me of the vagueness of what happened to Artorias and how ultimately it was us who stopped the abyss and caused the death of the taken Artorias.

    Addendum about the stone tablets the Uhl/Uld statue holds:
    The one at his feet, is basically a one-to-one copy of the "Babylonian Map of the World“, an ancient map from 900 BC.
    Babylon was situated in Mesopotamia, literally meaning "between (2) rivers“, namely the Euphrates and the Tigris.
    The second one, that the statue holds in his arms, is of a big tree, most likely signifying the (new?) Erdtree.
    All in all, the statue seems to depict either an ancestor, predecessor or at least Prophet (think Moses and his stone tablets) of the Erdtree!
    (Or the primordial form of the latter)

    The Albinaurics were created by the denizens of the Eternal Cities. Some item says that somewhere. The Carian family, I think, came up from the Eternal Cities too, perhaps seeking the lost Black Moon, and found the Full Moon and Dark Moon.

    The thing that confuses me the most about Rennala is that we get her remembrance at the end of her fight. How tf does that even happen 😂? Remembrances are hewn into the erdtree after a very legendary figure dies. How do we get the remembrance and then still have Rennala in the game? Which one is a copy? Is there a copy? aaaa

    THE REASON YOU CAN'T TELL HOW LONG AGO THE SHATTERING WAS IS BECAUSE TIME DOESN'T FLOW THE SAME WAY ANYMORE. THEY BROKE TIME WHEN THEY SHATTERED THE RING. They only have a day night cycle, no seasons or years, every day will be the same day over and over until a new age starts. That's literally the point of the game. Sorry for screaming. I thought that was textual.

    The lands between, the question that must be answered in my opinion with okam razor theory in mind is that the land we play is called lands between, between what?
    Material plane and afterlife? Between land of Light and land of Shadow?

    One question about Radagon that isn't answered at all is why he didn't did anything about Rykard and his actions. Because it is said in game that Radagon is the hound of Golden Order.

    I was invested into this theory with Fia being the culprit. The problem is that we can stop progressing Rogier quest while still progressing Fia's quest and Rogier will be alive after we fight his phantom in Deep Root Depths. Same thing with Lionel. His phantom will still be present in Radhan fight after we fight his phantom in Deep Root Depths. I even killed Fia just to see if he if Lionel was not participated in this fight as a doll controlled by Fia. His phantom was still there.
    When we kill Tragoth in Volcano Manor quest line his summon sign vanishes from all locations.
    So it is a question on how Fia's ability works... i suppose she doesn't require her champions being dead for summoning their phantoms.

    I love the Radagon is a mimic theory. I think the most compelling part is the line from the mimic NPC and Melina’s quote of Marika talking about not yet being me. It really seems to fit. However, I did have two questions/problems which are stopping me from taking it as reality.
    1. For me the most convincing parts of the theory come from cut content. It really depends why the quest line was cut. For example, in DS1, Quelaag had dialogue which was cut, and we were told it was because talking at you didn’t feel like it fit for her character. So the cut dialogue is more able to be taken for theories, as the issue with it wasn’t its content. But that’s very different from something being cut because they have changed the story or whatever. Obviously there was something wrong with the mimic quest line so it’s hard to have it as such a fundamental part of this theory. It could even be they saw the connection you are making and removed it cus they didn’t want this connection being made and throwing people off. It could of course also have been cut for dlc reasons, but that’s unanswerable yet.
    2. The second thing, is Radagon’s hair. It is referenced so many times and so explicitly, I feel it must be key to understanding something about him. The giant’s locks item in particular. Your find of hair in the amber egg is really interesting. Are you implying the amber nature of the egg is what made the hair red? If so, I’m not sure that’s right. Amber could be described as orange, warm yellow, off gold etc. but I don’t think you can describe amber as red, which Radagon’s hair is, so specifically.
    So for me, I love the theory, but not fully convinced. Loved the video nonetheless and looking forward to your next.

      Im pretty sure Marika is a Zamor. Which would make her "reflection" being a fire giant make sense. They seem to be opposites in some way.

      @@darkhobo Marika is firmly stated as being a Numen

    • @darkhobo
      @darkhobo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@genericgorilla yep. And Numen look exactly like Zamor. I think Numen is simply the name for female Zamor.
      The Black Knives are Numen and all Women. They are the same height and share that hunched over stance. The only place to get Numen Runes are from Queen Ants, which means female.... You see the connections I am seeing?
      Like "Zamor" is like saying "Human" while "Numen" is like saying "Women" something like that. Ultimately its just a mote descriptive word for the same thing. They are both described as "Long Lived"
      Then there's the obvious associations with the Zamor and the Sidhe of Gaelic myth (or the Others, if you happen to be a GRRM fan but I doubt it for some reason) and their Opposite force the Fire Giants.
      Almost like a Dark Crystal (The Jim Henson picture from the 90's) situation. Two races out of one race. Ice spirits and Fire Giants. Marika's other half Radagon has obvious Fire Giant traits.
      Something to think about anyway. Its not super solid but its got something too it for sure.

    For marika it seems to me that if she leads us (I have doubts that she did) she want to be us that we put her out of her mizery.
    About my doubts
    If MARIKA'S grace is leading us, that doesn't explain that all the npc's try either to deceive us like Varre and Gideon, or why they want us begone, it seems most of the npc's want us begone, and want someone else to become elden lord.

    I think it's possible that Renalla is infertile, and that she couldn't produce children, or at least healthy children, without Radagon and the egg at all. This would make all of her kids a product of the egg, which makes more sense to me than JUST Ranni being so. The larval tears help confirm this for me with their appearance, which resembles a placenta, and the fact that we must provide one for a healthy rebirth because this is something Renalla lacks. This could also explain how peace was brokered between the Golden Order and the Carians. They had two wars leading to stalemate before the marriage seemed to seal a peace, but what did Renalla get out of this deal? Why not continue to resist when they were clearly able? I'm not sure I believe she would submit to Marika and the Erdtree simply because she fell in love with Radagon. I think they also gave her children and, specifically with Ranni, a hope for succession.

    Gosh, there's so much I could say about all this excellent discussion, but I'll stick to the subject of Rogier and Fia. My interpretation of his questline is that Fia has some way to only be visible to the ppl she wants to see her. I just can't imagine D being chill with even the concept of a Deathbed Companion, and between some of her dialogue and what D's brother says, it sounds like the Roundtable Hold are aware of her and her plans to an extent, they just might not know who exactly she is. With that in mind, she kind of tests the waters with each new Tarnished she meets, to see how receptive they are to her being a Deathbed Companion, and if they're trustworthy enough to start doing her favors. Rogier, despite being close with D, was one such Tarnished. He followed D around less out of belief in the cause of hunting down TWLiD, and more out of curiosity about what TWLiD even are, and why they're in such a state. Fia likely would've thought she could use Rogier to get at D, but instead discovered that he was open-minded and compassionate.
    Thus, Rogier started drifting away from D, and towards Fia. Whether he learned about Hex magic from her, or used whatever he did learn from her in order to figure it out on his own, he still knew how to read into the Knifeprint and discover who was behind its creation, so I think Fia probably did send him to check out Godwyn's corpse beneath Stormveil, likely in search of clues as to the other Hallowbrand half and the Knifeprint. But that corpse was just an offshoot, and Rogier, using some kind of magic to examine it, accidentally got Blight'd. The reason why he "survived," I think, is down to the weird immortality that Tarnished have. Like, why is it that other Tarnished stay dead when we don't? Bc we can still see Grace. When a Tarnished loses sight of it, they have one last life to lose before the end. Rogier tells us he can't see it anymore when we meet him, so that death beneath Stormveil was the last time he could revive, but even then, it didn't totally rid him of the Blight. But even in spite of that, he still says he pities TWLiD, and wants to save them, so Fia absorbs the rest of his lifeforce to make him one of her Champions instead of leaving him to the Blight.
    Honestly, I think she ended up being as honest with him and Lionel as she becomes with us once we tell her that we're not intending to persecute her in the Deeproot Depths. I even think they were willing participants in her plan. Rogier says he feels like he's about to fall into a deep slumber, and apologizes ahead of time, sensing that he'll cause us trouble in the future. It makes sense that he'd keep it vague like that if he doesn't know whether or not we're aware of Fia, and also doesn't want to admit the whole story when he lacks the time and energy to explain and make sure we don't take that info to D.
    Rogier and Fia are high up on my list of favorite NPCs, and their questline is my top favorite, so I've spent a lot of time pouring over it. I even chose Fia's ending the first time, really wanting to see what would happen… _(:'3 」∠)_

    • @darkhobo
      @darkhobo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So as someone else that also played this quest line to death (pun intended) I would like to hear your thoughts.
      I am personally of the mind that Fia is just the human persona of the Ancient Dragon Fortisaxx. They go WAAAYYYY back. Back to the Defense of Lyendell. Where the sword monument says he fought to the last against Fortisaxx and earned their friendship.
      The Deathbed companions is the (literal) sister organization to the Dragon Cult you could say. Because Fia started the Deathbed companions right then, to keep Godwyn from true death.

    • @elleofmusic
      @elleofmusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@darkhobo I do really like that theory, but sadly there's not much of anything to back it up. Fia couldn't be both a Tarnished and Fortissax at the same time, bc the Tarnished had to leave the LB for centuries, and the implication of Deathbed Companions is that their whole life's purpose is to absorb life energy and then transfer it and their own into a corpse, which ends their life in the process, so Fia couldn't be nearly that old. And Fortissax had to have been nearby to know what happened to Godwyn, and to be able to somehow enter his mind soon after the Night of the Black Knives in order to try to fight off Death throughout the entire Shattering war. But perhaps the greatest evidence against it is probably the fact that Fia didn't seem to expect Fortissax being there, and had no way to defeat him or complete her plan while he remained. If he and Fia were one and the same, they should've been able to merge and reconcile, especially if Fia's plan really was a way to grant Godwyn new life.

    • @darkhobo
      @darkhobo 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@elleofmusic that's just it. We enter Fias mind, not Godwyns. We enter the Deathbed Dream. Fia is the Deathbed companion. We dont enter the "Prince of Death Dream" or whatever. She is the one who is sleeping. (Godwyn's eyes are wide open lol) We interact with Fia. Enter the Deathbed dream. Where we fight Fortisaxx.
      When we come out D has claimed to have slain Fia. Whatever you say man. Your prominently displayed sword is perfectly clean, and she doesn't look like she was cut down.
      And a Dragon Entering a Mind is not something we have ANY lore explanation for. A Dragon Becoming human is described in Fortisaxx's sisters item descriptions. Thats how she founded the Dragon cult. At the very site Godwyn fought Fortisaxx and where you can still find her today.
      And as for why she is Tarnished. Well a Tarnished is a Human Exile from the Lands Between. And well, Fortisaax is kinda stuck as Fia, transferring life to Godwyn. When Humans got Exiled she was too. Because she was a Human at the time. I mean, its not like the Tarnished were ONLY godfreys clan. Reedlanders. Numen. Northerners. Nightfolk. Theyre all Tarnished.
