Now it makes sense why we get teleported to Enir Ilim instead of using the big door that we go to after the Dancing Lion boss. Isn’t it weird that they showed us this huge sealed door all for us to not use it? I think Miquella used that entrance while we got teleported to the other side

the first line was cut, because that thing he calls the tarnished (which i cant even type here without getting shadowbanned) is a slur.

My interpretation of the Romina line is that she's speaking to the "Children of the tower", probably the hornsent, telling them that butterflies take wing

Mesmer is said to have tried to caste out his fire, like Morgott expelling his cursed blood. He literally cannot free himself of the fire, the kindling is integral to his being.

Miquella can ask his family himself. He has the best chance of convincing him. Messmer likely refused, so Messmer has to die so that tree can be burned. I actually dont know why Miquella wont just charm messmer and gain another minion... perhaps he doesnt like the risk of getting impaled.

Im sad as hell than those are cut because some pf those actually give vredit to the tarnished being a demigod theory

When he said “my loyal blade and champion of the radahn festival” i think miquella had been guiding us to do things for him for awhile like the others. Its grace showing us things but people also interfere in what grace even has for us like ranni, fia, and dung. Heavily implied torrent is his so killing messmer, rotgirl, burning tree, radahn, you could say even killing radabeast. All we do helps him until we actually fight him which is the only thing other than fighting leda is in his interests so we are kinda his blade in his mind

The dlc should have changed some of the base game aspect as DS1 dlc did with sif, so i agree that malenia's story is over but i wished we had some differences in her bossfight if the dlc is completed prior

I think it was added later on that miquella abandoned his grace aswell as everything else, which made their interaction pretty moot since messmer's whole purpose is to endlessly punish those that are shun by marika's grace, it would have been too complicated to write around that without changing much of messmers purpose

wasn't the idea that "malenia being dead so she couldn't be here in the dlc" strange, considering the land of a shadows is "where all form of death wash up"? her being dead would on the contrary make it weirder that she isn't there yet. to me it kinda imply that she IS still alive, but unavaillable due to being either eepy in the haligtree, or in process of blooming, depending on whether or not you fight her.

I agree with another commentator - I never saw Miquella as needing to get the kindling or burn the tree to gain access to Enir Ilim (either because of his demigod status or by divesting himself of his physical form, or both.) We, of course, need to get the kindling to enter though, as well are just lowly corporeal tarnished 😅

Miquella might not have needed the kindling from Messmer. I mean he’s already there when we arrive at the end of the DLC. Who’s to say he even needed it in the first place? :0

Miquella probably couldn't use the kindle himself, if it were an issue of Mesmer being unwilling, Miquella would just charm him. Unless he was somehow immune, maybe his grace eye offers some protection.

I feel you captured the essence of any Miquella-Mesmer interaction great. Miquella trying to over-please then when not getting his way saying he’ll send someone to kill, and Mesmer just going “I don’t care, I’m going to go back to my room, not caring”the whole time.

Just a small titbit of feedback: The music is to loud and makes it hard to hear your voice.

I would also say its a tangible way to show how she turned away from the Carian Royal Family to embrace serving under Messmer. Her singular lone chair for just her vs a whole circle of chairs for many to sit on.

Rellana and Romina's cut lines sound like things they would say when using abilities in the boss fight. Not sure why it would get cut.

Terminator ladies are cool in their own way too. Dane became alot less cool when he yapped at the end.

When miquellas rune and charm breaks .. Although he’s divesting himself of everything .. I always felt like someone just took him out completely.. in order to ascend completely because the crosses are already marked on the map you get meaning he’s been there already .. .. did messmer embrace him with the flame since he was stripped of the grace of gold ? His purpose does standeth unchanged tho ( I know he abandoned the rune near the sunflower ) but it’s already broken at that point .. someone definitely took him out

I fought Romina as my first remembrance at Scadutree lvl 8 on my NG+5 playthrough. I know exactly what you’re talking about.

It would have been nice if Rahdahn said his line. By mentioning his mother and saying he’s bred for battle he’s acknowledging both his parents are great warriors. Which is better than the base game where none of Rennalas sons mention her.

i think your neglecting the possibility miquela didn't need to burn the kindling tree, but the rest of your presentation and insights were great. I thought as a spirit the veil didn't apply to him, the beast warriors and locals there don't appear to have any association with miquela. Except the companions who came with us probably. So the physical space was operable, just not accessible, maybe it 2qs accessible just not to the living. A spirit summoning it's brothers corpse might not have needed to burn the sealing tree thus just skipped any conflict with his brother. Just walked by and gave him a wink and a snake pat. I also think its likely they were cooperative because miquella likely researched the ritual with messemers library, thus spent time there not fighting (edited as i watched, cooking dinner and didnt want to lose thoughts, all my statements remain unchanged just cleaned up edits after)

I think messmer is the gloam eyed queens son and marika either claimed him after geq died, or radagon is his dad. Either way,his flame seems to be a cross of black flame and the fell gods. Maybe miquella couldn't charm messmer, or he understood messmer wielded a flame that thwarts him. Idk i just speculate that the geq is a godskin like snake god.

When it comes to Mesmer being surpirsed that we are a tarnished, I think it has to do with how Miquella plans things. He told Mesmer something like "I will send a champion and you will give them your fire" And Mesmer was like "Sure thing, kid. It'll be interesting to see what they have to trade." THEN we show up. Now Mesmer is oath bound to kill someone like us so for Mesmer is a sort of ..."Oh...miquella meant for this champion to TAKE my flame." So there is a level of deniability there. Miquella just sent his champion over, he didn't expect (*wink*) Mesmer to just attack like that!

Actually the reason Mesmer fights us is because after being in the realm of shadows for years alone on the crusade, he realizes that his mother didn’t care about him at all
