I love that you use your hoodie to shield the interior components. I had my kids' Hello Kitty blanket when I used your videos to do this on my 2017 LX570. Congrats on being 'Lexus approved!' I was at an electrify expo here in Florida and the Lexus representative told me he had your work done on his RX. Wish you continued success! One 'feature' I'd like to have done in software is that when using Siri it ALWAYS defaults to using the bluetooth with the car as if you were using it without CarPlay, as I can never get the volume loud enough when you trigger Siri through the CarPlay device or when Siri is reading your text message through the device. The ideal 'behavior' for me would be how it is when you plug your phone through the digital factory iPod USB connection, it ALWAYS defaults to using the mode where the iPhone shows a large image of car icon, and you can use the car's systems to adjust the audio. ANYWAY CONGRATS and great product, great videos!
Thank you for your feedback! We’re happy to hear of your positive experience and our products being talked about in Florida! So Siri has its own volume level on the phone and you can adjust it by asking Siri to turn up Siri volume or by using the side buttons while Siri is summoned. Most of the time your phone music audio volume will be in max, and to ensure your Siri is heard at the same audio level as your music, you will need to set your Siri volume to max as well. Please reach out to us for any questions!
@@BeatSonicUS You guys are very responsive, I should record a video of what I'm talking about. There are two ways to trigger Siri, either using the vehicle to trigger Siri THROUGH the CarPlay device (the way that even if you adjust the volume it's always quiet relative to the music) or holding the side button on the iPhone, that will go through the car. Through the car you can make it so loud that it's uncomfortable, and you can 'set it and forget it' within the Lexus interface. If there was a way to FORCE the CarPlay gizmo to only use the vehicle interface (as when using USB) it would be ideal. I even have this problem on my 2021 Mach E, which has factory CarPlay, it's probably up to Apple to change this behavior. It is jarring to set the volume through the car interface, you can make it very loud, but when it plays through the CarPlay interface (Siri icon on the display) it will be quiet, even relative to the music. This reddit post has others voicing the frustration in the opposite direction, they want the mode I want always on to be always off. www.reddit.com/r/applehelp/comments/xmfeiz/how_do_i_turn_off_this_car_mode_for_siri_ios_16/
Awesome! Thanks for the video-it made it really easy to install. Took me maybe 2 hours going slow and double checking everything along the way. The only thing that wasn’t clear was how the 2nd box was mounted. I eventually found a way that kept it out of the way of the cup holder and away from the parking brake cable, but it took some trial and error.
Do you still recommend mounting the two boxes near the shifter / cup holder like shown in this video, or alternatively is it better to mount them behind the screen like gx bob does in his video?
@@BeatSonicUS Just a quick update -- I installed this in my truck over the weekend and it's working flawlessly. Ended up mounting the boxes near the shifter/cup holder area. Loving this product, thank you!
I just ordered this unit, but haven't installed it yet. With android auto, what are the different ways to call Google assistant? Does the button on the steering wheel still work, or do I need to say "Ok Google"? Or something else?
Installed ZZ2 and it has been a NIGHTMARE. Had it is installed and it is a NIGHTMARE. Disconnects constantly. Get duplicate routse with CarPlay and Lexus navigation. Also, ZZ2 claims the USB which connects to phone does NOT supply enough power to consistently charge the Iphone. If you want to SCREW UP YOUR CAR.....GO FOR IT!!!! Taking it out!!!!! All navigation, radio and AC is integrated!!!! I lost my mind for having it installed and cannot wait until I get it out!!!!! If you want CarPlay....put iPad on your dashboard and ride while your AC continues to work!!!!!!
This is the best upgrade I’ve purchased for my GX. Beat sonic customer support is fast for any installation help. 💯 recommended
