"Hydrogen fuel cells are thing of the future because it's exactly the same as we have got now, unlike electric cars you need to charge up repeatedly and Petrol which will run out soon"- James May
"You can't put the fan on because that'll wear the battery down. You can't listen to the radio because that'll wear the battery down. You don't power windows because that'll wear the battery down. You can't go very fast because that'll wear the battery down. You can't stop because that'll wear the battery down" LOL
I was only trying to illustrate how much more pollution you make with an electric car , if you use the same fuel for the generator or for the engine of the car you wind up making 80 times as much energy (and pollution) as if you had used the fuel for motion in the first place, it works out the same if you use a diesel generator, coal, bio-fuel(fossilized or not) energy in = 80 times as much for electricity as motion(which is what the electricity is made with)
@1100HondaCB it's also a death trap, even WITH modifications, there was one news report where the driver of a crash at 40 mph was killed, the passenger was suprisingly alive!
@Paaka70 So the car battery has been the most environmentally harmful part of a car for the last century? I was always told that emissions were most harmful.
@aeMercury lol..i am not spamming..i copy my comment so it does not get lost while posting and sometimes i repeat it becoz i am too lazy to type!! Russia is a cool county.. :)
@NetMoverSitan I do recall hearing the G-wiz is made in India. I suppose it is good if you only commute a few miles to work and back each day, as I do, but I wouldn't feel safe in it and a top speed of 40mph (still motorway legal), you have no power to get out of danger. The digits on the mileometer are all staggered, so it looks as if it's been clocked! LOL. I suppose it's part of the poor build qualityI guess.
afraid that's not from a report, it's from the 2nd law of thermodynamics, every time you change energy or matter you have to lose a good deal of it, if you own your own solar panels,(or wind mill, or watermill or ,) you can charge a battery with zero pollution, and zero cost(once your panels are paid for) but if you charge off the grid,(powered by oil/coal) than you will use more than 80 times the energy that was there originally . You can do the math yourself. or find out empirically .
@VGMGarden he liked that one better than the G-Wiz as it's...better in almost every way (he didn't like the "Greenpeace lecture" built-into the sat-nav).
Those of us who believe in science believe in an objective world view. One of the most important laws of physics is the law of thermodynamics, each time you change energy (or matter) some of it will get away from you, with an electric car you are changing chemical energy(fuel)into motion, into electricity, into chemical energy(didn't we have that once already?) into electricity, into motion(didn't we start with that?) You can do the math yourself, an electric car uses 80 times the energy .
80 times? That's hot air. Brushless motors are what 85% eff? Call that 100% relative, as electric vehicles can regenativily break. I'll guess the losses in charging and power-stations ain't mush worse than refining plus the petrol engine cycle. It's fairly even except the one major caveat, powerstations don't need crude. That's key. In fact Tar sands and shale might tip the overall energy eff in favour of electric.
Sorry but that is a fact, The 2nd law of thermodynamics demands that every time you change energy you have to lose a considerable amount of it. I you own some solar panels and charge your car with it, you have zero pollution, but if you charge your car from the grid( as most people do) than you have to make 80 times as much pollution per pound per mile per mile an hour as a car that uses fuel. It's physics. not a biased statement.
if you own your own solar panels and use them for a charge, you create zero pollution, and use zero non-renewable fuel. otherwise you are way, way off 80 times is an ideal, if you had a perfect car, and a perfect road and driver, using a different fuel does not change that.same figure for veggie oil, alcohol, kerosene, wood, coal, whatever, unless you have your own solar panels(or windmill, or dam, or reactor) you are making 80 times as much pollution as the same sized car on the same trip.
imagine you are going to use a gasoline powered generator to charge your car. instead of using gasoline to create motion, like other cars, you will create motion, change that into electric energy, change that into chemical energy(the battery) change that back into electrical energy (gee, didn't we already have that?) and change the electrical energy back into motion(gee, didn't we start with that?) And that is just the pollution problem.
@JestaZX6R Well we drive our self respect! There are more billionaires in India than in Britian! Today most of the sales of Audi,BMW,Toyota etc., come from India and China.
i am sure grand son of that guy will be driving something like the same car he is criticising (hope the globe is still there in tact with human beings alive) because by that time no petrol, no gas, only solar and wind power, that too scarce. no luxurious gusslers will be available
Everything's got to come down to Apple, doesn't it? At least they don't spew acid and cause head injuries when they hit a wooden object, and at least they're actually useful for something. "I'm thinking about the environment" is a much more douchey reason to buy a flimsy product than "I wanted one," at least Apple users don't fantasize they're saving the planet, and don't get a substandard, hazardous product out of it. :P Though if that table could play MP3s, I'd rather have that.
That completly ignores a few things. Grid is wasteful already. I've heard that the stretched at peak time US grid could support most Americans using an electric car without upgrade if they charged at night. That's frankly astonishing. You seriously underestimate the eff of power stations=>grid=> batteries=>SC+motor. You also seem to be thinking about a car that runs directly of crude, not one that required mined oil shale then cracked... Which is the reality as of 2012 for future oil growth.
@627hjc Both those loss makeing over rated over priced car makers where sold several times becoz they where cronic loss makers. But TATA turned it to a profit makeing company.. u should thank them...and try to promote electric cars, which r far safer than falling off an Harley or sports bike..! Dont be unfair.
It should be called the G-Zzz as it's so slow and boring. Safety is obviously a main concern as if you had a crash in one, you would suffer serious injuries. You would be safer on a motorbike.
@jeremy915111 What do u mean Indians cant make good cars!lol The new Reva NXG and NXR are more affordable and safer than most EVs made in UK.We just started making modern cars and already we have so many great models like the TATA Aria,Mahindra Scorpio and tones more..not to mention the Nano which has passed European "safety standards"..Moreover when something gets owned that means legal properties get transferred including the workers who work for an Indian company now, that made it Indian.lol.
This was hilarious. I definitely like watching top gear, not only is it fun, but it will help me pick out an appropriate car XD (I am not old enough to drive, lol) and who gives a crap about global warming? It is good to be good to the environment but this is just ridiculous. I'm not putting my life on the line for a stupid myth, ya know?
any electric car uses 80 times as much fuel per pound/mile/mph Unless you own your own solar panels ,or live next door to a dam or nuke plant, You are making 80 times as much pollution as everybody else on the road, You are just making in somewhere else.
I really don't think that electric cars are the future, not even from an environmental point of view. The way i see it is like this: all cars are electric => no more polluting oil refineries and fuel using cars, BUT the need for electricity would increase dramatically => a lot more polluting power plants. So, where is the gain in that? We just trade oil refineries for power plants.
Too bad the process used to manufacture batteries for a car like that does more damage to the environment than a petrol car will do over it's entire lifetime, not to mention they ways electricity for charging it is generated, like crude oil and sometimes even coal. Electric cars sound good on paper but in practice they are useless
i like how the sound of the car crashing happens before the car actually crashing, quite funny
Jeremy forgot to mention that the table would also be even kinder to the environment!
"Environmentally friendly acid there" hahaha, i fucking love clarkson
This review convinced, i am going to buy a table tomorrow.
"Hydrogen fuel cells are thing of the future because it's exactly the same as we have got now, unlike electric cars you need to charge up repeatedly and Petrol which will run out soon"- James May
LOL THEY BOLTED THE TABLE DOWN.
GO TABLE!!!
"You can't put the fan on because that'll wear the battery down. You can't listen to the radio because that'll wear the battery down. You don't power windows because that'll wear the battery down. You can't go very fast because that'll wear the battery down. You can't stop because that'll wear the battery down" LOL
"If you want to go to work quickly, get a table"
i'll take that as recommendation and go to work with table everyday
That table was crazy fast off the line
I was only trying to illustrate how much more pollution you make with an electric car , if you use the same fuel for the generator or for the engine of the car you wind up making 80 times as much energy (and pollution) as if you had used the fuel for motion in the first place, it works out the same if you use a diesel generator, coal, bio-fuel(fossilized or not) energy in = 80 times as much for electricity as motion(which is what the electricity is made with)
my table does 0-60 in 8.7 seconds
im soo happy they don't have those in the us.
@1100HondaCB it's also a death trap, even WITH modifications, there was one news report where the driver of a crash at 40 mph was killed, the passenger was suprisingly alive!
that has to be one of the best reviews.... in the world
Are u still alive??
What is it with top gear and not recharging their electrical cars?
even the table is not tuned for the drag race it won! LOL!
@MrRromy well this car is sold as REVA in many countries and its quite successful.........this is totally underestimating the car.......
@TheRguru1 You can get one only in Mother 3 got the Game Boy Advance
What is the song at 1:28 ?
@aeMercury Wasn't really spamming bro, He DID refer to the video quite a bit and the G-wiz itself. and Clarkson, lol.
@1100HondaCB Here's a little info for you about that car, it's made in india.
TABLE IS VICTORIOUS!!!!
And the price for "TH-cam's greatest speller" goes to Noavaileblenames, for $9.99!
i would rather drive a table to work. it's faster than an electric car, more reliable and more durable in a crash
It's probably on one of Jeremy Clarkson's DVD specials. Not sure which one; you should look it up on Wikipedia.
Go Table!
@Paaka70 So the car battery has been the most environmentally harmful part of a car for the last century? I was always told that emissions were most harmful.
My table does 0-60 in 3 seconds!
@aeMercury lol..i am not spamming..i copy my comment so it does not get lost while posting and sometimes i repeat it becoz i am too lazy to type!! Russia is a cool county.. :)
ROLF.. *gasps* LMAO... *gasps more* LOL!
the table beat the Gwhiz!
he must have some special variety of table. mine didnt come with 4 strong men in coats..
@Corerrai it's not a car, it's a quadrobike
@NetMoverSitan I do recall hearing the G-wiz is made in India. LOL "The most stupidest thing about this is that you drive it to "save the world" LOOK WHAT IT'S DONE TO THE WEATHER!!"
i like my table
@crzykilla10
This is from one of his dvd's.
Its a pity he has got very crude recently.
Which season and episode? Want and need to know, and quick!!
jermey clarkson supercar showdown dvd not top gear but he drove the renault a610 in this special episode too
now give him the nissan leaf.
3:18 That's acid
That is acid
cmon table cmon, :D , table has been damaged
129 people go to work with a table
20 people own a g-wiz and got defeated by a table
Yes looks like the Table Wins..
Uum, may I get a twin-turbo carbon-fibre table please?
@0554joe you forgot the spoiler! haha!
i so wish you could get a table in san andreas!

paint the table black and turbo charge it!!!!!!!!!!!

the sounds a bit off.
table was powered & strengthend by Chuck Norris

16 people didn't buy a table
GO AND BUY A RANGE ROVER, AND WARM THIS COUNTRY UP AGAIN
what episode is this?!?!?!?!
that is clarkson supercar showdown not grand tour or old top gear
Same
you must have spent a little extra $ when you first bought it.. im saving up for a supercharged breakfast
environment-friendly acid here... ah ah
Yup. That's why I purchased a Range Rover ;-)
20 people bought a G-Wiz
well BBC version of Top Gear
@tsherwoodrzero i mean i wished they put a table in san andreas it would of been more fun then
Jeremey Clarkson has an iPhone.
simply hire 4 firemen in white coats to carry you wherever you please. Sweet.
G Wiz vs NASA crawler platform
crawler would win..
imagine you are going to use a gasoline powered generator to charge your car. instead of using gasoline to create motion, like other cars, you will create motion, change that into electric energy, change that into chemical energy(the battery) change that back into electrical energy (gee, didn't we already have that?) and change the electrical energy back into motion(gee, didn't we start with that?) AHHHAHAHAHAHAHA
@myaddy714 If you honestly believe cars are damaging this planet watch the Top Gear Polar Special. Otherwise, do what @MadDwarfProductions said.
@ImmortalGray21 nooooooooooo. the table ;)
HA HA it was taken out by a table.
god has not yet created a ceature that would fit in the back.......=))
@JestaZX6R Well we drive our self respect! There are more billionaires in India than in Britian! Today most of the sales of Audi,BMW,Toyota etc., come from India and China.
The G-wiz is as good as the best pre-Nimh and Li-ion BEVs.
Clarkson did this purely for lolz
Wow, seriously ? The table broke the car ? How can they even sell that ?
i am sure grand son of that guy will be driving something like the same car he is criticising (hope the globe is still there in tact with human beings alive) because by that time no petrol, no gas, only solar and wind power, that too scarce. no luxurious gusslers will be available

@MacGyver920 Either eco-mentalists, those who are easily amused or just insane.
Why have they got a piece of shit out of the toilet and called it a car?
That completly ignores a few things.

Go James Hetfield!
@KarthikSoun you own them, but don't make them. ONly try to make them look worse! At least the Brit Engineers can make cars

You must be either American or Russian to use gasoline for a generator. In the civilized world, people use diesel fuel for this purpose.
series = Top Gear episode....I dunno
not top gear but clarkson supercar showdown
@KarthikSoun i would never buy an indian car
@jeremy915111 What do u mean Indians cant make good cars!lol The new Reva NXG and NXR are more affordable and safer than most EVs made in UK.We just started making modern cars and already we have so many great models like the TATA Aria,Mahindra Scorpio and tones more..not to mention the Nano which has passed European "safety standards"..Moreover when something gets owned that means legal properties get transferred including the workers who work for an Indian company now, that made it Indian.lol.

i dont care about the running expenses of the g-wiz... It's a terrible thing, and concerning running costs.. get a bicycle.... or a table.
any electric car uses 80 times as much fuel per pound/mile/mph Unless you own your own solar panels ,or live next door to a dam or nuke plant, You are making 80 times as much pollution as everybody else on the road, You are just making in somewhere else.
