    Absolute great tutorial! I bought this trimmer last summer and it ran flawlessly all of 2021. Put it up for winter storage with a little Stable gas conditioner. Took it out yesterday and no start. Watched your video and felt confident in my certified TH-cam mechanical abilities and sure enough the jet looked clogged. I did not have any wire small enough but I did have a small drill bit the did the job perfectly. Only turning by hand. Flushed with some carb cleaner and it fired right up. Also the o-ring and white plastic you mentioned did stay on the engine so I put them back on the carb before reassembly. Thanks so much!

    Great walk through. Fixed my problem. When I removed the bowl a small metal disk fell out and I put it to the side after not seeing an obvious place for it. After reassembling it started then ran a bit rough. I stopped it and put a bit more gas in the tank thinking it may be hitting a few little bubbles of water in the line. Then I saw it was flooding all over the v place, coming out the carb. I took it apart again and removed the float assembly and found the recess where the plate goes and tapped it back into place, reassembled and it's starting on one pull like it should. Again thanks for the walk-through. It was well done, good video and sound, unlike many I could mention. I have been skimping on alcohol free gas I'll admit. Anecdotes aren't proof but 1000 county gearheads can't be wrong, miright?

    My husquvarna mower has a fuel shutoff lever so I usually always try and turn that off right before I’m done mowing to let the mower carb run dry. This way I haven’t had an issue starting since I’ve owned it. Knock on wood. 👍🏼😊

    After a winter in storage, I put new gas and a new plug in my Husqvarna 675hwt trimmer, pulled, pulled, pulled and got....nothing. What to do with all repair stores closed due to world bug freak-out and the Husqvarna manual of no use? On the theory that TH-cam has a video on just about everything I did a search and--sweet baby jesus--found this. Followed along step-by-step but wasn't very hopeful as I didn't encounter any noticeable gunk. Reassembled, then BAM, started on the first pull. Don't know who you are, but my lawn, pocketbook and sanity thank you.

I use Sea Foam in all my fuel cans but as much tall grass as I use it on I've been pretty sure the carborator is the problem. I would add a fuel valve in line with the carburettor,switch it off after use then run the carburettor dry so ethanol fuel,etc won't ruin the carburettor.
    I just leave fuel in the tank of my 3 hp Briggs and Stratton lawnmower because it runs the choke O Matic carburettor which sits on the fuel tank so it's not affected by the fuel.
    That sticker on the air filter cover is the stupid one that I'm talking about Briggs & Stratton putting on their engines,I always change the oil so it won't end up like the Briggs and Stratton engine which was off a Murray lawnmower base & fitted onto a Poulan base on one of the other videos !

    Just running a piece of wire in that little tube fixed it? What a unreliable engines they're putting on machines these days! My orange string trimmer is less than a year old - with an automatic choke - and also won't start. And I've used only "ethanol free" gas in it. • @Patriottoo2
    @Patriottoo2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Took my friend's carb apart, today, and found the suspect orifice blocked with a tiny bit of something. This orifice acts as the ONLY fuel filter on the engine, so will likely plug again, unless a filter is added between the fuel tank and carb. I find it strange that none of the repair folks, working on these carbs suggest adding a filter to prevent having to clean the carb over and over. UPDATE... I just happened to look inside the fuel tank, and discovered a wire mesh filter at the outlet for the hose. So, it either doesn't trap particulates in fuel, or there were remnants left inside the carb, during manufacture. I found a 3/8 long bit of flexible material about 0.5mm in diameter inside the cavity that holds the metering unit. Obviously, the carb wasn't assembled in a "clean room". After reassembly trimmer starts on first pull every time. These engines are made to fail, as indicated by the manufacturer's suggestion to not change oil, but just add to it. Probably, they realize that gas powered stuff is on its way out, due to the eager acceptance of battery powered tools by the public.

    I have one similar to this and the plastic housing where the weed eater string goes has a gash in it. So anytime I weed eat, grass wraps around the inner metal that spins the wires eventually stopping the engine. Or sometimes it will work still but due to all the grass inside cause embers and smoke. I don't see how to take off the part to replace.

      Do you happen to have the model number off the ID label?

      @@cdub5907 have you look the bottom of the plastic ball? there should be a big nut there. Take that off, and the part you're talking about should Slide off so you can replace it.

      @@INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE Feel dumb but yes. I noticed before but thought there was a way just to take the casing off and couldn't figure out. Didn't want to make problems worse if that wasn't it.

      I would have never tried this without your video. My machine started first pull after I did the carb cleaning. Thank you again!

    I have this same model. As long as I use Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer it can sit for a year and still start and run after a few pulls.
    Thanks for the very detailed troubleshooting procedure though!
