He sets himself over the bar forever. But it certainly does not seem to affect his strength, does it? So much explosiveness! He's using straps, BUT is standing on a block, thus necessitating a longer pull. The Russians have the three best guys in the world in this category, with K. Akkaev and D. Bejanyan. Where do they get these guys?!?
@VastChoirs His father, 83 world champion is his coach. He trains with the team a lot but his father writes his workouts. Akkeav, others have personal coaches.
@gn270 He is trained by David Rigert, as are most of Russia's top lifters. I don't think they've talked extensively about how the programming for lifters works, but if you want some general ideas about how Russians train, you might look at the books "A System of Multi-Year Training for Weightlifting" by A.S. Medvedyev or "The Training of the Weightlifter" by R.A. Roman. The modern Russian system deviates from the old Soviet texts, but it should give you an idea of how they approach programming.
@needabloodyname you're right. nobody should ever be happy about their lifts unless they're world champions. This includes Klokov. he only got 2nd in this year's worlds.
@anxfoley Is this what Klokov is saying at the end? Google Translate says it means "That's right, fuck!" Please tell me this is correct as that makes the lift even more awesome
@needabloodyname You also have to realize that NOBODY gets to be good at anything if they lack self confidence. Yes Jon North may go over the top with some of his celebrations, but the guy isn't stupid. He knows he's not actually #1 in the world, he knows that people in lighter weightclasses around the world lift more weight than him. Regardless of that, the guy is happy about his PRs and he should be. Not many people in the world can lift the weight that that guy is lifting.
@supramano8 I think you are being a bit harsh there. Obviously people will celebrate personal bests which is fine but the problem with some of the American lifters here is that they post a video of a Personal Best on youtube and have hundreds of deluded fools claiming that the US will now win a medal at the Olympics. The need to understand that the russians are breaking records in training all the time but don't around shouting about it.
I miss this klokov and his adistars.
Now you can see him riding horses shirtless.
he was preparing to destroy London
They must really like this song, its also playing in the video of Lapikov.
The secret is in Russian Techno
Beast! I ´m looking forward to seeing him at the Word Weightlifting Championship. Gold for Klokov!
world champion in 2005, this lifter has been promising for some time, wonder if he should be a super
This is the most awesome video ever posted on TH-cam
he is tremendous! i really hope he wins gold medal in london!!
Hi Mr. Klokov. Nice videos as always, good luck in London 2012! I hope you beat Armanau.
Awesome. :-)
Is the training program for Dima and Coo. available somewhere as an additional motivation material ... !?
Thx.
DEFINATELY NOT powerlifting, this is simply immense!!!!
The weight is impressive, no doubt, but what I am REALLY impressed with is his shirt.
I find it amusing, how Klokov manages this lift and NOBODY cares lol. Some are not even looking, no clap, nothing.
@VastChoirs His father, 83 world champion is his coach. He trains with the team a lot but his father writes his workouts. Akkeav, others have personal coaches.
just realized this was a deficit lift. fucking christ.
this is very robotronic futuresque what with the music and his awesome outfit. Anyways, Klokov is a beast.
Klokov is just a badass....period
Dinka - Canonball (Claes Rosen Remix)
What is chigishev planning to do with that weight.. finger curls?
@AdmiralSeadog yes, he is pulling from a deficit so he has to pull for more distance = increased difficulty
This song is just as amazing as the lift itself, but what is it called?
hanks for uploading. worlds this year will be interesting.
this is almost expected in the russian community.
202 from a DEFICIT? 12 kilos off the world record? No, this is not at all expected...
Jimmy Struthers no the current record is 200kg in 105 class. klokov did 202 from deficit.
+Ivan Drago Uh... that caliber of a lifter isn't really to be expected from ANY particular country.
@gn270 He is trained by David Rigert, as are most of Russia's top lifters. I don't think they've talked extensively about how the programming for lifters works, but if you want some general ideas about how Russians train, you might look at the books "A System of Multi-Year Training for Weightlifting" by A.S. FLuero stripes? What a styla.
THE MUSIC IS AWESOME!!
When one has been in a gym that long, it's difficult to be impressed
inb4 everyone starts training to electronic house music and using 4" deficit blocks.
Russian happy house beats...the music of champions!
0:55 to see the lift.
THE BEST
its not a real weightlifting dungeon if you don't have at least a couple of old guys sitting in the back looking depressed af
202kg DEFICIT SNATCH, wow
Chigishev about to squat big there!
Aramnau is from Belarus, not Russia. I know it's pedantics because they were both in Soviet Union when Aramnau was born, but there is a distinction.
@AeacusCanti No, this is Klokov
Anyone know the name of the song in the background??
@needabloodyname you're right. nobody should ever be happy about their lifts unless they're world champions. This includes Klokov. he only got 2nd in this year's worlds.
@ozwunder69 I think he's staying 105, lapikov moved to the supers.
song?
Why would Aramnau be training with the Russian team? It's Roman Konstantinov
Like a boss.
Whats the weight, and what does he say at the end?
202kg/445lb
he said: "Vot tak vot, blyat!" censored
turbomode Please translate "Vot tak vot, blyat!" please!
8acun It's like-"that's the one", but with a swear word)
Don't know why he didn't ever attempt a 200kg snatch ever in competition!
@NicolletIslandSlim They get them in the chemistry department mate.
@MultiTrollHunter different weight classes, but regardless I am sure he has seen it
machine !
@anxfoley
Is this what Klokov is saying at the end? Google Translate says it means "That's right, fuck!" Please tell me this is correct as that makes the lift even more awesome
@BROZKNOWS I don't know how he does them on such a small space. I have to use a huge platform to avoid breaking my ankle!
is he still human?
@HedgeFun35 yup, that's correct, Klokov is awesome
This is what happens when you mix Powerlifting with Tron
Klok is a machin
@AeacusCanti no it's not- it's a place far far away where men get strong and party hard
I saw that same shirt in Tron
YES! SPACEMAN SNATCH!
@MultiTrollHunter why...?
I think I just crapped my pants.
haha totally. this is highly futuristic/badass (combo please).
this guy is a fucking monster
chigiscev is alive....too bad he did not gone to paris

Is this real life?
multitrollhunter: ahaha yes!
