+stefanos lisgaras Can you explain how to breath while squating. I never used to think about it and have been doing fine but now when I hold my breath before going down and breathing as soon as I go back up I feel like passing out. All the pros do it this way. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you
+Christian Lionel If it feels like you're about to pass out then maybe you should use less weight, try that and see how it goes. It's not something to ignore,if you pass out with 300 pounds on your back ugly things can happen. The technique you see on the video is simply holding your breath as you descend and then slowly releasing air as you go up.The purpose of the whole thing is to fill your gut with air so that the pressure will help you ascend,it's the same with deadlifts and pushing your gut against the belt. You take a big breath, hold it as you go down and then release it as you go up,simple as that. If your technique is fine you really don't need to do it the way a pro does it,I mean you don't necessarily need to go that deep or hold the bottom position for that long. You can get all the squatting benefits just by going parallel regardless of what you read online or what "experts" say.
@@stefanoslisgaras8718 good comment until the last part... squatting ass to grass has benefits that just going to parallel doesn't; like a deeper stretch of the muscles, increased mobility in the joints and stronger and more injury prone ligaments. the "experts" say it because it's true.
I love the VASTLY different styles here. Klokov dropping down deep and holding the bottom position but only doing one rep, Polovnikov not going rock bottom but repping it out more.
Klokov has talked about this in seminars, he does the slow paused squat to help his snatch and c&j, it helps eccentric strength during thr catch so he doesn't have to drop as low. He also does higher rep sets of squats on different days...
я с 20 лет тренируюсь без тренера, а это уже 10 лет. И всего чего достиг в спорте, это благодаря своим мозгам, труду и терпению. За это время столько было травм, боли и крови, что я имею право просить за это возмещение !!!
Awesome due to the different heights of both men they reached a middle ground so they could still train together without altering or time wasting adjusting.
+Germe look your 1 rep max in squat is 100kg so you go up 10% per warmup set i guess but if your 1 rep max is 300kg you go the same 10% up per warmup set which are already 30kg per set. and now we are talking bout klokov :D so 50kg is ok
if you are talking about Klokov's then he said in an interview that they are used to keep the warmth in. Due to it being his method in keeping his weight down. The bandages arent meant for the common thought of increases ones squat strength
lol thats 580 lbs pause squatted and repped out beltless with grace, minimal screaming, just another day attitude why cant they teach this shit in north america this is way more functional than bodybuilding and seems way more fun to do than powerlifting, the oly movments are an art! this is why china, russia, iran and kazakhstan rake in the medals every year
Yeah, up here in Canada, the oly community is tiny, makes me sad. I think PL is the goto fad of fitness, and when it dies down, bodybuilding will go back.
Bodybuilding isn't about function, it's about size and aesthetics. Powerlifting is about moving maximum weight. Weightlifting is about weight, form and technique. No point is arguing which is better since the end goal of each is very different.

Dmitry Klokov what's the cause of your Bowlegs ? I respect you big time you are an amazing strong beast, but I notice you have bowlegs, Do you ever notice you starting to have bowlegs when you were going heavy real heavy on your pro oly liftings.. at what age did you develop bowlegs ? sorry for asking too many questions .. but even with your bowlegs you still perform amazing. I was starting to show some bowlegs stretching before my weightlifting squats clean and jerk snatch and all that, all leg knees, hips, everything stretch before my workout, I stop working out for about a month and my legs coming back to normal I don't show any look of bowlegs, reason why I was doing all different type of dynamic stretch and warm ups so I can reduce the amount of injury for my workouts, heavy days and light days with high reps. I see you use alot of knee straps so your knees don't come out more , I never use any of that probably I will start to use some of that so I can avoid the bowlegs look . sorry for many questions but Would like to know few answers and results of the bowlegs Dmitry Klokov have.
you gat a part of genetic thats right also its an adaptation to many olimpic lifter the deepest position is more easy with bow legs he build it cause he start lifting very soon and deep
Wooden floors may not be ideal for this..... btw, is that frikin 260 kilos?? Holy shit, they are squatting 3 times my body weight! The only thing holding these monsters back is the length of the bar.
So Klokov was doing ATG squats with no belt and a 6ct pause 570lbs@RPE 7. Is there any footage of him testing anything close to a true 1RM squat? Must be north of 650-700lbs?
Дмитрий, спасибо за ответ. Я беру свои слова обратно. Вы правы, я не знаю вашей кухни и то каким образом вы пришли к своему успеху. Приношу извинение за своё сообщение, я не хотел вас задеть. Удачи.
you sure? All the fractional plates i know are a tenth of the big plates of the same colour - so a small red one will be 2.5, blue 2, yellow 1.5 etc. the white ones are 5.
There should be chess books and board to review while resting. I like the point at 10:50 where the guy is deadlifting in the background. When I was 19, repping 500 lbs for sets of 5 on deadlifts like this, people always would want to fight me because of this strength. Why is Vasily doing more reps than Klokov? I train like this at home, but during rest periods I review chess games from books. Thanks for posting this raw footage, its kick ass.
I think I heard him saying something in another video about how he will wrap certain areas to prevent muscle growth. Preventing excess mass = getting to lift in a lighter weight class. I'm not 100% sure so don't quote me on this.

Especially the guy at the end in the background doing deadlift power shrugs, or whatever that was. Lol
If the entire concept of squats were a person, then that person is Dmitry Klokov
Is it not mind boggling to anyone else that these two just slab on 50kg/110lb per warm up set?!? absolutely incredible
110lbs isn't a lot at all
