He snatched 206kg during competition prep, but replicating that in contest is something else. Also I think he had a lot of political issues in Russian, he said that in some interview. Similar with Koklyaev. He did 200/250 in contest rather easily but they never sent him off to compete either.
I just came out from Qatar 2023 competition video where Garik Karapetyan shatched 180 kg for the 1st place in the 102 kg category. This just shows how insanely strong Klokov was.
That guy is just insanely strong! at 3:10 doing 170 kg with pause. Just holding it and POW... 170 KG!!! That is insane!!! Most people cannot even lift that off the floor... and he uses the weight as a warmup toy... Incredible! Huge respect for this guy!
