Very good technique. Buhurt and SCA people are the only ones that really know how to use a one-handed sword and generate power. HEMA people make straight arm cuts that wreck the elbow and shoulder. Nice Pell concert for footwork and practicing range.
@mymedievalcorner115 for sure bro , we have some good events , carolina carnage is a must , we had the biggest turn out in american buhurt history this year I fight with steel coven and imperium , get in touch if you end up coming out this way we would love to have ya !
What about using a modu? It seems like the extra angles to block would help and doesn't weigh a shield down like an oversized shield like a pavice but that's just my not so humble opinion
@@adcaptandumvulgus4252 Thanks for the comment! I loooove Madus! It was a required fighting style in my SCA household. The angles will work great but instead of using the “cone of defense” you’d play “hide behind the tree” then you’d tip drop or flip up the bottom for the stab. With obvious flexibility in stance and situations. Since I am training for Buhurt where stabbing is NEVER ALLOWED, I have stepped away from a stabbing format. For those wondering, a Madu is a short double tipped javelin originating from India and other eastern fighting styles. It would be used as a defensive/ offensive weapon used in the off hand (shield side) Pair the madu with a talwar sword and that’s a deadly combination.
@@mymedievalcorner115 Has anyone tried angled shield shafts as a defensive modification, to trap or deflect? Maybe a slight curve to the angled shield hafts to redirect strike energy away? Deflecting that kind of force might be a tricky grip to harness reliably though but possibly. A mancatcher also would be funny, if allowed in a duel to pin them to the rail. Double the fun with dueling with mancatchers & ancient secret quarterstaff techniques) Thanks for all the info.
@@mymedievalcorner115 I'm in south Eastern Washington. Friends of mine got me involved in the empire of medieval pursuits, and are drawing me back in after several seasons off doing other life things. 😁
Less chance of catching on the shields in my experience. You can always create a diagonal shot off of flat and vice versa. Diagonal shots work well within combos getting your opponent to open up. Thanks for the comment, I’ll go over that in the next one ⚔️
@mymedievalcorner115 I do a lot of fighting where we stab where the armor isn't or is only covered by mail so a cut that lets me set the point just has to get in. I'm trying IMCF duels so I have a lot of questions about this game.

Your generalization is wrong.
HEMA, HEMA 1:23 Buhurt all have different contexts as does SCA
Great video thanks 👍👍
Another solid video! Wishing you a speedy recover from the surgery, and looking forward to seeing your work in the list again!
I've just begun my journey into Buhurt and this was a fantastic instructional video, thanks so much!
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching! More to come
Great and extremely helpful video. Hoping you make the others as this was concise and perfect for a rookie like myself.
Thanks for the tips bro 🙏
If you end up hitting any events on the east cost we may end up fighting 💪
Much love brother ❤
Much love ⚔️ now I have to get out on that side of the US 🤘🏼

Coming from other armor and sword games, what is the advantage of flatter strikes over diagonal?
