0:46 so i'm guessing he's the one that send those 2 flying with those shield punches, very nice indeed
Whaaat? Man that's intense, didn't know that this even existed. Interesting though :) thanks Mark for bringing this to our attention!
My pleasure
At 0:45 was that Fenton sending three fellas flying in quick succession ? 😂
Metal AF. I just saw a clip last week a guy ate a high kick with greaves on, amazing
I found a local place near me and I look forward to starting my journey hopefully Wednesday.
any chance we can get more updates on this program with Wes as it progresses?
I was thinking of turning this whole series into a subscription-based things so that we can spend a lot more time, focusing on the videos and the program and have follow long videos but I’m not quite sure if I can pull that off or not. Do you think that there would be interesting that
@@MarkWildman Sounds a good idea.
My philosophy of individual liberty and responsibility supports your right to do this. My sanity forbids me from doing it.
I have been watching buhurt for some time. I need to mull it over still, I don't know how I feel about it. It sure is helluva impressive competition, that is not in question. the athletes there do have that bit of extra OOOOOMPH
DO STUFF!!!
I’ll be anxious to see how you design and progress this program.
Start easy, play NHL first…
no one else read “butthurt”??
3:20 walks into brutal left hook😆
Sensei Seth tries it out on his channel. Very taxing!
This should be a great series!!
The comment on him voluntarily fighting as a southpaw, and that most people don't train that way, reminded me of when I studied Kendo. We had some SCA people who were into Shinai Fighting want to visit and we thought it'd be interesting. Kendo has 4 defined targets...head, wrist, chest armor and the front of the throat. You get very good at protecting those places.
The shinai fighters, however, were like Epee fencers...everything was a target so we were getting attacked from directions we weren't expecting, leading to a lot of initial success on their part. Once we figured that out...and we decided to open up our target selection to match theirs, we had a slight edge. Their attacks were generally medium to large swings, which were easy to parry setting them up for a fast counter attack.
It was a very fun day and both sides learned a lot. Since I am naturally left-handed, I would occasionally switch from right to left during our sparring matches, sometimes in the middle of the fighting. That always through people for a loop, esp if they'd never fought me before.
This is so fun and unique . Very cool
You should get in contact with some HEMA folks, it would be really interesting to hear your advice for us historical fencers.
When mad max happens, those people at Buhurt will definitely rule the earth.
7.62x39 mm disagrees.
I am reminded of The Simpsons when Homer becomes "Chief Knock-a Homer" in the "I, (Annoyed Grunt)-Bot" episode. Homer basically becomes a robot and fights real robots in Robot Rumble. This is an interesting topic but I wouldn't partake LOL. If I was forced into this, I don't think I'd trust myself to build my own equipment and I would pray I didn't buy aluminum foil coated cardboard or something marginally better than that LOL
Me a novice: I'm interested in trying medieval combat sports
Him: So here are all the injuries I got
Me: Never mind.
LOVE IT
My friend would be perfect for this he's 6/2 and 400 lds id watch
Man this boohurt stuff is pretty cool and all but when do we get to the bowhurt thing?
Entry price into the sport can be high. Buy once cry once though. Best sport I’ve ever been in.
I would love to get into this. The only problem is that the nearest place is two hours away😂
1:17 guy gets a few liver shots in 😅
Bro playing smiter irl
That is badass!!!! Dudes got stones !!!
Shield smash
Love it
This is a lot of great information. A lot of respect for the people that do this. I'll stick to SCA .
THANK YOU for the armored combat videos !!!
Please DO continue sharing the details about the programming for Wes and how he progresses.
I'm curious to learn about your approach - implemented for a professional in real life.
Is it really required to have a weapon in buhurt or I can just go in with full armor and no weapon/shield?
No idea? I’ll
Investigate
@@MarkWildman I looked it up and it said that if you have a two handed weapon, you must hold it firmly with at least one hand or you will be considered disarmed and the enemy must cease attacking. So i think it's required that we have a weapon before we enter. Thanks.
Huzzah-cha-cha!! I want to see this in person. I'll bring some bandaids...
A lot of people are starting to find out about Buhurt/Armored Combat. It's nice to see those interested and those who talk shit on it. Everyone locate your nearest chapter and give it a shot!
Am I the only one that wants to bring all the “safe space” people here? For science….and gamboling
Armour-wearing, axe and shield wielding, no hands falls and get ups?
Ooooh, the sport is popping now, that all the celebs have brought it into the light.
MARK WILDMAN AND BUHURT THIS VIDEO IS CUSTOM MADE FOR ME
Super cool!!! Love to see the yearly progression of his workouts.🛡
Wow, great video, I never knew this existed
2:42 dude runs into metal fist and gets creamed 😂
True modern day Gladiator! 😮
and now I'm in a unhurt rabbit hole
Just crazy 😂
Super interesting
Fuck yeah!
😮
I would think meaningful scoring would REQUIRE BYPASSING THE ARMOR thus directly compelling the striking where armor is not???? What am I missing? I assume caving in the other guys armor via A hammer or mace is frowned upon?
Yeah a mace would surely do some mega damage. 6kg, light enough to be speedy with some training & would crush bone like eggs
Looks like fun but breaching a building at 2am in downtown sadr city, Iraq knowing you gonna make contact is much more exciting.
That looks like fun.
Bro, would I be able to use a KENABO in this? I'm thinking probably not, cause I don't think armour is really gonna do much against that monster (I own one, it's ridiculous)
I don’t know if a Kenabo is that much more powerful then a Halberd or other pole arm.
No it’s because the purpose of that weapon is to break armor and human bones. Plus during the medieval times, Kanabo weren’t used by Knights. They were used by samurais. So in Buhurt League rules, it’s not allowed.
@@bpstumpy Yea, well I wanted a samurai getup, so I figured it'd be okay. Sadly, y'all a buncha chickenshits
@@a_fuckin_spacemarine7514It’s Buhurt. It’s a derivation of HEMA…Historical EUROPEAN Martial Arts. That said, it’s not always strictly disallowed. Japan has a team; their captain does have samurai gear.
