The poets are just great. I saw them in Stockholm last year. Marko is a fantastic vocalist! Thank you for a great reaction. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.
I`m glad you saw this amazing video, but you should also hear him live. This band is an amazing live band. Please do react/ analyse Angel from their Alexander Theater Sessions with nothing but a piano and his voice, or this song from their Moscow concert 2013. They have so many awesome songs more, like Lift, Daze and Requiem From My Harlequin from their latest album.
"Don't walk away ... don't walk away .... when the world is burning. Don't walk away ... don't walk away .... when the heart is yearning." I have every Poets CD .... this is the most powerful and emotional part to me. Ever.
The carnival is the life/soul of the protagonist, who is singing for his love, who is either leaving, or has already left him, and he is left empty, dry and thirsty. You really should watch some of their other videos. Their lyricism really is poetry; they deserve their name. Personally, I love "Daze", and what I consider its follow up almost a decade later, "Requiem for the Harlequin".
I absolutely adore Poets of the Fall. I found them and this particular song in 2016 while waiting for my mom to get back from a surgery, which was removing breast cancer she had. Thankfully she fully recovered and is healthy now. Since then we attended three PotF concerts together, I traveled to other countries (Finland included) as well to hear them live. What is more, my mom is a midwife. Her patients love her, as she always puts some nice music in the background. Many Polish newborns heard Poets' songs as the first one in their life! Our other fav is Lord of the Lost, another great band that deserves more recognition, especially in their pre-Eurovision era.
Oh my, Poets is one of my favorite bands. Marko's voice is just....amazing, not that he has a exceptional vocal range but he uses it to great effect. You can really hear what he puts into the performance. Lift and Sweet Escape are my two favorites, but I'm sure you'll fall in love with this band, plus your vocal analysis is superb.
I always go back to listening to this band. I especially love the Theater sessions they did. His voice puts me in a mood that is hard to verbalize, but it’s something akin to peaceful thoughtfulness. If you feel like listening to more, then I’ll be here to watch!
I second the request for "My Dark Disquiet" as I think it is an outstanding song. You could also check out their alter ego, the fictional band "Old Gods of Asgard" with their songs "The Poet and the Muse" (similar style to Carnival) and "Take Control" (more aggressive Hard Rock/Metal)
Incredible song that has stood the test of time & is increasingly relevant today. The Carnival is the toxic parts of the world, hence the face mask, the coins she has to spend - the limited amount of time we have here, so spend it wisely. Try to ignore the temptations of greed & material things, watch out for two faced insincere people, take care of one another. Love is everything. Every scene of this video has deep meaning & Marko is a genius creative & lyricist, a beautiful soul & voice
Poets Of The Fall have a bunch of beautiful music. I recommend songs from "The Alexander Theatre Sessions", brought by the band during Covid-time. This one brought me to your channel, and going by this one, I think I'll stay. Love the analysis. Since you're getting into Poets of the Fall, I'll suggest their alter ego, the Old Gods of Asgard, and their songs 'Take Control' and 'Herald of Darkness' (Official Video)... And go from there. Greetings from Finland, by the way.
For really showcasing Marko's ability to sing, I recommend "Angel" from Alexander Theater sessions. It's just him and a grand piano in acoustically marvelous empty theater. And it's glorious. Also a tear-jerker.
I should listen to more of Poets Of The Fall. I've mostly just heard their songs as Old Gods Of Asgard for the Remedy games (mostly Alan Wake) which are more classic rock
They have songs that range from acoustic through to metal. They have a good range of music. Especially if you also include their work as the fictional band Old Gods of Asgard. A fictional 70s era metal band akin to Black Sabbath. A band made for a video game. They have songs that sound very similar to that 70s metal sound, and more modern metal as the bands comeback tour. All of them are great. And the songs all play directly into the story line of the games. As per the lore of the game world, artists like musicians can change reality with their art. The games are horror as well.. The games are how I found the band, as I learned who did the performances.
The founding members of the band actually met when they were making game music for the Finnish game company Remedy Entertainment. The song 'Late Goodnight', which they made for the game Max Payne 2, launched their career. Mark Wahlberg starred in the movie, which was based on the Max Payne character. They have kept making music for Remedy's games-also appearing in them as a fictional band called Old Gods of Asgard-and are well-known figures in the gaming community: "Old Gods of Asgard - Herald of Darkness (Alan Wake 2 | Official Music Video)". Relating to your thoughts on the lyrics and the video: "The BEST VR Headset IN THE WORLD Has Me Questioning REALITY".
Hey Ken! Awesome video as always! Poets of the Fall are favorite band of my mom and she loves them :) If you can, please, react to Leprous - Castaway Angels.. you'll love it I promise! You already have exeprience with Einar's voice and it's so fkin amazing in that song!
It is poetry, it is for you to interpret the meaning. Also, if you are going to react to more Poets, then might I suggest something from "Alexander Theatre Sessions"? During covid restrictions they had a chance to record acoustic versions in this old theatre. They really showcase Marko's voice.. You can find it here th-cam.com/play/PLf036d2aMIZ6D3wokATNETvpqszodvK8p.html&si=-2fX7LDh6RTg-7Eb
Why do you remind me of Bryan Dechart? Anyway, I love your videos. You're very polite, which is refreshing, honestly! I don't know if you did, but if you never have reacted to Ruthlessness from Epic: The Musical, could you? The singer that plays Poseidon is really something.
I really recommend the Alexander Theater Sessions. The power of his voice comes through so much better live. You could honestly do any of them, but in my opinion Angel and Lift both stand out.
Thanks for this reaction Never heard it broken down quite like this but it was very engaging and interesting. Check out more POTF especially the Alexander Theater Sessions - which are all acoustic performances of some very different rock songs
Thank you for reading my request and I'm really ashamed of my typos 😥 I'm always very happy when somebody discovers this amazing band!
Thank you for requesting it, I have tried so hard previously to make him to react to them in the past without success, but glad you made it!!😊
The poets are just great. I saw them in Stockholm last year. Marko is a fantastic vocalist! Thank you for a great reaction. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.
I saw them too in Stockholm and the Poets are really great!
Hejsan Sverige.. Från Finland.

I concur

Kiitos from Finland. Please Poets Of the Fall in Alexander Theatre Sessions Helsinki Finland song ANGEL. I love this song.
This, so much.
I concur. It's Marko at his finest, and you can really hear his technique because it's so stripped.
@@JariJuslin Markon ääni super hyvää.

I thought this is an old video but thrilled to see its just 5-6 days old.. i love poets of fall.. their ‚Someone special‘ is close to my heart❤
One of My favorite bands! Go Finland. Listen to their Records from The Aleksander theather! They are amasing!! Greetings from Finland 😊!
Poets! I'm always so happy when someone new experiences them!
Beautiful song, Beautiful video. Beautiful band (seen them live). Beautiful reaction.
It’s nice seeing reaction videos from people who can explain what’s happening, rather than just saying “oh that’s good”.
Thank you
I love Poets of the fall, they are AMAZING❤ and way to underrated😢 !!!
I really like them as the Old Gods of Asgard too. Take Control and Dark Ocean Summoning are favorites of mine.
I saw them live last year and they were awesome!
I love how you make me cherish everyday music in a new way. Thanks! ❤

For me The Poet and The muse, is still their best song.
The Poet and the Muse is an all timer from the Old Gods. Their whole catalogue are so thematically resonant to the stories in the Remedyverse
Kiitos!
You should listen their live version too. It's awesome.
Thank you for this video. I love this band so much, they are for rainy days for sure!!!!

Strong Childhood nostalgy for finnish people in our mid 20s now

Marko Saaresto is absolutely my very favorite singer ❤❤❤😊
They're amazing! Can't believe I found out about them just a few days ago!
My favorite band. Their song ";Angel " (alexander theatre ) is the best song
Imagine, that this album made entirely in Captains living room... :D Best band there is!!!!
I hope you listening and react live version of this, that was even better👌
Yeah, really great 💖
Finally my finnish dudes! ❤
I think that carnival of rust is a state of mind and of relationship

Anyways loved you reaction.
Alexander Theatre sessions "Rebirth ", Moscow live "Cradled in Love "
I love the video, but for voice coach reactions I think the live version is even better.
Olli is such great guitar player.
Try one of the live performances from Alexander Theatre Sessions - Angel, Fragile, False Kings, Lift etc
Please check Temple of Though live ❤

Listen live in Moscov and -SLEEP... and many many more

Great reaction there more poets please. Need more nighrwish too been too long. Thankyou
❤
Please please please react to more :D They have been around for 21 years. Making music for games also
I really recommend the Alexander Theater Sessions. The power of his voice comes through so much better live. You could honestly do any of them, but in my opinion Angel and Lift both stand out.
I didn't know that Conan O'Brien has a reaction channel.
Has anyone ever said you and Paul Rudd have very similar voices?

Alan Wake 2 and Max Payne 🤔😂🍻
