His plot twist was epic! He took that guy to hell and then raised him up...most times I watch Dragon's Den just for Peter Jones..so unpredictable and strategic! (I feel like his strategy is to lower their ego then make them an offer they'd be so relieved to get)
Christophe Capeau The difference is the Dragons are not there seeking money to get their business running. The Dragons hold the checkbooks, so some butt-kissing on the entrepreneur’s part is necessary. They don’t get the luxury of expecting niceties and respect.
So why do you think they do that? Because it's persuasion techniques. If you come to a pitch already appearing that you have an underhand, then what you get is people getting the better of you. If you know you've got a solid product, there's no need to get intimidated. That's why Peter's interest was there, because he knows the product IS something, and the inventors know it as well.
Think of it like a tough job interview- it’s the interviewers role (especially in a high level type job where you would be required to work under high stress) to ask you tough questions, and make you squirm to a certain extent to see how you handle the pressure and attitude, and it’s your job as the interviewee to be respectful and polite, yet confident, and show them why you would be great asset and have a great personality and how you would handle possible ‘difficult or confrontational situations’ and people, which is needed in business. Peter is often deliberately playing a confrontational role to see how the entrepreneurs react.
I did not understand what was the problem neither. They simply were not interested in licking anyone's boots. In my opinion that is a good thing. Ps. After reading other comments I agree that this must be a cultural thing. In Finland such a behavior would be rather normal from tech people. ;)
In Israel we have the attitude of "Don't be a sucker". And the Israeli guys just demonstrated it. And also being too formal and serious is considered a bad thing because you're not friendly. But to british people it might come off as not caring.

I read a moving tribute Peter wrote about our economics teacher Mr. Lehain, who he cited as a major influence on his life. Me too. He was of those teachers who could make a seemingly dry subject interesting & entertaining.
I haven't watched much of this show, but I think that Peter is a very clever man. He just wants to get to know his potential business partners in very short time and he is very effective in doing that. Its nothing personal in the end, its just business. And I feel that both parties understood that.
I've only seen a dousin clips total of this online. But I've noticed that Peter seems to get very annoyed when people value their company on ambitions rather than presenting their current stage/position up front and unhindered.

They wouldn't sell me the baby therefore I don't need one and won't invest.
@@landon5583 It's in capital!
Lol when it's a kids product I've seen him destroy it 😂😂
Peter Jones is an absolute legend.
The way he went from criticism to commendation was amazing.
I'm sure he's bipolar
So am I....I have been to The Arctic and Antartic....
His plot twist was epic! He took that guy to hell and then raised him up...most times I watch Dragon's Den just for Peter Jones..so unpredictable and strategic! (I feel like his strategy is to lower their ego then make them an offer they'd be so relieved to get)
Esther Anegbe nope, he was put in his place and they won his respect.
Peter:"I don't see where you get a valuation of £2m?"
Entrepreneur: "I don't care what you think, you are nothing."
Peter: "Take my money!!!!"
Jenny: “the cameraman doesn’t even bother with me so for that reason I’m out”
Dragons complaining about his 'attitude' while they do exactly the same thing at least once every episode
Christophe Capeau The difference is the Dragons are not there seeking money to get their business running. The Dragons hold the checkbooks, so some butt-kissing on the entrepreneur’s part is necessary. They don’t get the luxury of expecting niceties and respect.
@@austinriley8410 100% agree with that. That's how it goes in business though... They didn't call you. You called them, so they have the advantage.
But they are not begging for money... I would be scrutinizing too if someone asked to borrow over six figures from me.
Seems like theyve never met Israelis before hence why they were perplexed by their demeanor
haha exactly.
@@rantom87 Sure, it's just a cultural thing. In Britain, being polite is a big part of our culture. It's easy to see why Peter misconstrued this.
The guy was still a bit extreme though, the other guy with hair was fairly polite
Developing a battery powered product that wraps around a baby's head and blows air to it's mouth. the regulations must be tighter than Jenny
Why would you assume the batteries are kept in the device instead of keeping them somwhere else in the stroller? They invented cables you know, electricity can be transported!
why would debra match peter's offer when she already knows they prefer peter in general lmao
Update June 2020: product is still pending production and missed the Dec 19 product launch due to covid19. Touker now owns 50% of the business after addition investment and up to a £1 million overdraft facility.

I wouldn't of done this investment
Can you provide these updates for all of them? Haha
Cara Sanders haha yes
Yeah why you are surprised?

I love the strength and straightforwardness of the guy in glasses.
Understanding your business is key, a strong team of entrepreneurs... Wow!...
They should make that for adults sitting on stuffy aircraft.
That's a good idea, a lot of people get colds on aeroplanes
Yes it's from the high levels of benzene not circulating breath
BUT, you would still be breathing in stale air directly, regardless of the filtered air
I'd buy that!!
Rosetta P take a closer look at it, there is no way you would be breathing in clean air, air would be breathed in direct from front

He said he *led* a business not that he owned it. He also said he was VP marketing. He was head of marketing so I guess he was quite high up and managed a large part of the business. He's definitely an experienced businessman.
He said he worked in marketting. And he thought that meant he lead the company...
@@assaultedpeanut9 he led the marketing dept he was vice president of marketing. If it was a big company then he was near the top.
@@bobbyrayofthefamilysmith24 i don't think so, unless his definition of marketting includes business development. But normally those two things are pretty different
I picture what Jenny writes in that notebook is just " I'm out" over and over like Jack from the shinning
So they didn't even wait for Jenny to make an offer!
If I were Jenny, I would be out too.
You don't know this club members: the poor business owners will give you everything nearly for free.
They only had 4 hours.
"Fair enough"

It's like an episode of The Office 😂
I hate Dragons for giving grief to folk who are under NDA!
I swear the camera man is trying to get an upskirt of Debra, every time.
Oh yeah... Jenny: I'm out, etc
Nice👍
Carlos Nightman When?
You can tell why these dragons are so successful, they can read deeper than what regular people can see
Peter always insults before he invests.
I think that is the best and steeliest negotiating I've seen in the den, they did well to hold their nerve and fire back at the Dragons.
The product is for using outside
Jenny: Im out
Entrepreneurs: the product-
Jenny: I'm out
Hahaha
Shouldn’t that be the product is for inside then she says I’m out 🤔

Just love the way each offer is identical to the preceding one, but positioned as if it is a new angle for them to deliberate on

We need to address the pollution problem rather than sell over priced filter systems to parents. What happens when the child wants to get out and walk etc? Or you have to carry them around? I've had four so know what I'm talking about.

Yes I saw that too at 10:14 when they all started to make offers, she looked really worried
man what a show , taught this never would end up with an investment, well done from both parts
Peter Jones was in my year at school. I seem to remember that he had the same haircut & carried an executive briefcase everywhere.. I read a moving tribute Peter wrote about our economics teacher Mr. Lehain, who he cited as a major influence on his life. Me too. He was of those teachers who could make a seemingly dry subject interesting & entertaining.
Yes I remember him too. He also had the same beard and stuble in primary school and couldn't be bothered shaving like the rest of us kids.

Tej ‘I can add a lot of value’ lalvani
This has to be the most bafflingly interesting Dragon's Den pitch I've ever witnessed.
Deborah: Business mastermind and Dragon
Also Deborah: I'll give you the same offer as the guy who you've already said you want to work with....
WAHAHA
Peter just earned my respect with that logical u-turn.
he didn't let his personal opinions get in the way of a potentially good product or an even better business partner.
That's why he is a multi millionaire
Always astounds me how people are willing to throw away everything over an extra 5 or 10 percent stake but fail to realise they are buying the expertise of the dragons which is invaluable.
