    Engine bay is all dressed up and looking 💯💯💯👍👍 you are going to have to keep an eye on the coolant for a while... these L5P's are really finicky with burping the air out.

      I sure will. That’s what I have heard. I should have ran the heat etc when I fired it up. I’ll do that, and check it after each time I drive it. And thank you! It’s coming together. One piece at a time. I appreciate you watching!

    I just ordered the upper radiator coolant pipe for my 2013 LML Duramax. I also have the drivers side hot pipe on the way. I just bought this truck. It's my 1st diesel I've ever owned. It's a 2013 chevy silverado 2500HD 6.6L LML Duramax with 144,000 miles. The truck is 100% stock. I also have a 100gph Air Dog lift pump sitting here waiting for spring. It's way to cold now to me horsing around with anything. But I'm watching everyones you tube videos to learn from. I'm doing the easy stuff 1st, to learn and grow confident as l said my 1st diesel.

      Hey when you installed your upper radiator pipe, did you just pop off the stock hose and allow what ever coolant to just drain out from there? You didn't pop off the lower hose?

    Awesome install brother it sets off the engine bay real nice, make sure you give it a second tighten once you get her up to temp right after you drive it , mine leaked a little but once I re torqued it she was fine, as a matter of fact it leaked slowly on to a belt which for a whole 2 weeks made a noise that I thought was a bad injector it put me through hell, than I found it it was just the coolant leak hitting the belt .........man it was crazy.

    Sorry you had to learn that the hard way... always drain the radiator down some or all the way depending on what hose your dealing with. If nothing else it saves a hell of a mess lol. I’m working on getting all the whirly fab stuff now, already have my intake horn. They didn’t have the intake when I put the banks on, so will be trying to sell that 🤦‍♂️

    • @linksgarage1985

      Yea. I prob should have drained it a little. My dad told me the same thing after he watched the video! Ha. Live and learn. It wasn’t too much of a mess. And all the stuff makes the truck sound very different now. Hope these videos help when you get around to installing! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!

      Well, I did the intake, turbo horn, and Intercooler pipes all at once. The truck sounds very different! But I can’t pinpoint if it was the pipes or not. Down pipe for sure. But that may be for a later time, when some other mods are done. I appreciate you watching!

    Is there a benefit to this or is it basically just for looks? Seems like it just adds 2 more spots for a leak

    • @linksgarage1985
      @linksgarage1985  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My opinion. Mostly for looks. But some functionality also. Some big Block high HP vehicles have a tendency to collapse the upper hose and pinch it closed under a heavy load. That’s why you typically see a steel braided or a metal style upper rad hose on older big block cars. Also, I have replaced very spongy hoses in the past. This will never collapse or become spongy. Yes, you are correct about the additional leak points. It’s personal preference. I routinely maintain my vehicles and this is on the list of things to check often. As long as you do that, you’ll be fine. I have had zero issues so far. Best of luck and thanks for watching!
