Man... was looking for another one of your videos to refresh where to cap off the vacuum on the carb for adding a new petcock today, and had to stop by this one. That light just looks so good! I have an H4 LED bulb from like 4 years ago that I never put in my bike because my stock halogen melted the internal reflector of my Goofit headlight shroud I bought like 5 years ago (the one you tried out in the past) so didn't want my LED bouncing around in there where all the plastic melted down. Went to order the JNS one and my wife said "like hell you're spending $200 on an LED headlight when you already have an LED bulb you needa put in. If it doesn't work, then go for it". 🤣 Went back to order the Goofit and it just doesn't look good to me anymore after seeing the refined/updated KTM style light like the JNS. Ended up going with this one as I feel it looks way better than the Goofit. a.co/d/61qUZB0 Gonna mod that up today to fit the H4. Hoping it looks almost as good as the JNS. Something about the light layout gives the JNS such a mean, awesome look!

@@Harrington1992 honestly, I don’t pay attention. I just fill it up around 90-100 miles. I never check anymore.

Sounded beautiful! Just watching how snappy that throttle was got me stoked. Lol. May need to just pull the trigger on the lectron. Got hit by a car running a stop sign on mine a few months ago and bought it back from the insurance company and fixing it all up and doing the mods I've been wanting to do. What headlight is that? Looks so good and nice and bright! Mine got pretty scratched in the crash. Edit: Nvm! Found the headlight video. 😅🤣

@@linksgarage1985 All good man! Was definitely stressful and sucked at the time, but ended up working out well. Got my wife her first ever dirt bike and been teaching her. Got a set of dirt tires and wheels for mine, handguards, disk guards, etc. Fixed the damage and throwing some mods on I've been wanting to do for awhile. It didn't feel good when it happened, but not gonna lie, worth it in a messed up way. 😅🤣 I saw your video about hitting a deer at 50. Needa watch that but you seem to be all good from it which is good!

Hey I pulled out my needle and I didn't have that tiny spring. Could it have flown off when I pulled the white thing out? Do I need that part? Or is there a chance I didn't have it to begin with
@@typicallamagoat could have been tampered with before you. Or could have flown off. If it was there from the factory, I’d say you need it.

Ahh yep. The E model has been the one I've been eyeing. Seem to be like $130 when I check ebay. Need to keep a better eye out or see if my local dealer can order me one. Appreciate the great info and walk-through. Can't decide between the Lectron, FCR MX, or CVK40 carb myself. I know your FCR was being weird on the top end and the CVK seems to be like 90% of the FCR performance for like 80% less. That Lectron, though! 🤣

@@linksgarage1985 Oh yeah, that's why I haven't done too much yet. JD jet kit on stock carb, full yosh exhaust, and 3x3 airbox I'm still so happy with. That's why I was thinking the CVK. Nice and cheap to see if the power difference is really as noticeable as people say before dumping $700+ on a carb. Plus saves money to go towards stage 1 hot cams. But perfect! Thanks man!

This is rather proof that you don't need to change your oil lol, 255k miles before it dies mean it did provide a nice longevity. This was probably conventional oil which means you could go further with an original full synthetic oil like over 300k miles or more.

Going to be picking up a DRZ in the next couple months. The only thing that I'm struggling with is either I buy a used 2021 DRZ from FB marketplace or buy a 2024 from the dealer. Are there any major differences between the 2021 DRZ & the 2024 DRZ?
@@AugustGabriels the DRZ SM hasn’t changed since 2005. It’s been the same bike other than color. A 2021 vs a 2024 is exact same.

Hey bud I just got my jet kit. I just have an exhaust right now. Should I do anything to the airbox or no? I've heard it can destroy your bottom end torque. It's so much info out there idk what to believe lol
@@MyNameIsTimIThink lots of people run a kit, a pipe and remove the snorkel from the airbox. You could always try that first!

Does it matter what gas-cap you have, .. with any of the different shut-off valves? The 'E' model is pretty much the old original model, right? The vacuum type needs a sealed Cap, or it wouldn't work?
@@maxwell9734 I’m not 100% sure. But I just have a standard non CA bike with a regular cap. It would work with a vented cap as well.
Do you have the OEM part number? I’m pretty sure I found it but want to double check. I’m using the Pingel petcock for now because I wasn’t happy with the raptor one I had to install facing backwards with my Lectron Pro
Never mind, just saw the box in the video lol. Still working on tuning my Lectron, it’s been a crazy two weeks and I haven’t had time yet 😑

I can see the advantage of this over the one you had, but is there an advantage of this over the factory vacuum operated one? Is it simply to eliminate the clutter of the stock system?
@@CraigSmith568 the vacuum system diaphragms are prone to failure.

@@linksgarage1985 Would love a shop tour! I've been wanting to fix my parents shop up that's a bit run down. All the original stuff from when my granddad built it in '61. No ceiling and insulation falling, the floor of the loft above is a bit spongey, all the light ballasts are busted and don't work, old walls, rusted out wood stove, hard attached bench and cabinets in the back falling apart. Want to fix it up to do projects in, but also so my dad can have his wood working hobby back. Something to do with his hands, get out of the house even if only 20 feet away, and be creative. Doesn't need to be storage anymore. Lol. Seeing how you built/setup yours would be awesome!

I just changed the break in oil on my new drz. I had some fuel in the oil. Didnt seem like alot but it was definitely in there. Should i worry about this?
@@MyNameIsTimIThink if you had fuel in there for sure I’d check it every ride after you change it. Wondering if the rings were not seating properly and letting some fuel wash past and in to the crankcase. If it continues, I’d take speak to the dealer if it’s a new machine. Good luck!
