Hey SplatterCat! Thank you very much for playing! Always a pleasure to see the game on channels I admire! :) It is awesome to have this support as a solo indie dev. Hope you and your audience liked it! Cheers!
Mind if I ask what the inspiration is from? As soon as I saw it, a lot reminded me of Starsector, though that is a pretty recent game, inspiration-wise.
This game is pretty badass. Dev listens to all feedback and fixes any bugs you show/present to him. Really in-depth RPG and ship mechanics, variety of ways to earn money.
Little fact, if you're interested: "Outis" is the (ancient) Greek word for "nobody". Odysseus introduced himself with this name to Polyphem the cyclops. Bye bye, have a nice day. :)
yes, there is actually a lot to consider while streaming, so it can be distracting from even the simple obvious stuff (am I even live right now?!) when he was considering a nuclear reactor I was like "buy it! just buy it! noooooo you dont want another battery, get the generator!" it's fun watching people learn, especially knowing they are multitasking
@@sleepydragonzarinthal3533 same here! haha I was hoping he would notice the low energy generation, which he did a bit later on. It was a good job at learning the game while delivering good and fun content.
Nice! i love this game, 1 person dev team, very fun healthy discord. It is definitely getting more content and activities soon. I've logged 800 hours so far and sometimes when I play Elite Dangerous or something, I will park in a station and alt + tab and play some Star Valor as if I am sitting in my space ship playing a space ship game haha Star Valor can be played casually with some optional in depth stuff like the crafting, which is also going to be expanded to be able to craft more than weapons. ALways nice to see my favorite indie games on the big channels! Look forward to new players in the discord
puts spaceship 5m away from jumpgate opens map and realizes warpjump is required closes map and turns spaceship around, stating; "ahh, you need to jump.. well, guess we have to find a jumpgate." decides more resources are needed and proceeds to go mining
After watching this video I was definitely interested in the game. After watching someone do a playthrough I decided to buy it and holy shit I'm hooked! It's so good. Definitely has some shared DNA with Starsector but it's a lot easier to manage, I find. I love the mining and crafting aspects. Looking forward to more development!
Good job highlighting this game, it's really well done and has more depth than you'd expect, especially in the ship building. Dev is really nice and responsive on Steam too
I love how i can watch some of your older videos, discover a game that fits my type of hunger, watch it go on steam sale and also see massive amount of updates on it. Now developers, shut up and take my money.
I'm not a top-down space mining grindy kind of guy...until now! I like what you showed and how you showed it, I just added this to my list of games to get. 😎 You have a new subscriber and I have a feeling that I am going to have a larger game collection...THANKS! 👍
Escape Velocity was the first game I played like this (from about 20 years ago, now) where you fly around the galaxy, run missions, make money, buy new ships and gear, etc. I've been supremely happy to see this unnamed genre receiving a lot of love, EV is even getting a remake the last I heard!
Reminds me a little of a game called escape velocity, but more fiddly. In escape velocity I really liked that in a combat situation you could board and take over other ships, but you didnt have to dlfight if you didnt want to play that way.
I'm not sure either on how to categorise that genre but I think it's cool. I like the choice of specialisation and the roaming and exploring, good stuff.
Splat: "My dumb ass is cruising around in a sunfire" Me: "hey wait....I cruised around in a sunfire....I feel like I should feel attacked right now. But I also completely understand that energy"

@roadworkahead i agree my steam library has increased a lot over the last two years i have been watching splat. @splattercatgaming if you have a patreon or whatever i would support it and i usually don't. Love what you do man always makes me laugh with your rhetoric keep it going man
Game's still in early access, but the developer is still updating it as well. There've been two fairly nice updates in the last couple months. Not sure how far along the game was at the time of this video, but it's got dreadnoughts, carriers, fleets, and a new crafting system in addition to the old one to have fun with that might not have been there a year ago.
I've racked up 250 hours play time in this game i never get tired of it love all the recent updates i wonder if the Dev will add ship loadouts that would be huge
Hi splatter, I super enjoy your channel and I too like @road work ahead, have bought half my games because of your recommendations, I would love to support you, do you get some thing when I buy the games using your link or is there another way to support?
So... Starsector, but how you really want to play it?? I'm in. And I'm not slamming Starsector, but it would be nice to have an option where you could get to this level
Turns out the Dev only accepts pats on the back but whines that you're complaining when you point out the obvious flaws that need a fix. Done with this game and this dev.
Oof. When I first tried this game, there was a fight breaking out every 30 seconds, and I grew frustrated at the challenge and gave it a pass. I might have to redownload it.
Dear sir, I have a question, what are your Pc specifications? Thank you so much for putting so much hard work on your contents lately ☺️ Keep up the great work 🙏
feels like starpoint gemini but... i think it is good if we can upgrade the ship into some battleship level , i mean the huge one ,titan class or something with some crew to command other little ship.
You do realise that even if it is in the first place you look that is still the last place because why would you look any further? Just always found that statent amusing.
A plug Beyond the Stellar Empire wants you! It's free to play at the start, lot's of space to exploit, fun players and you can go Political free and get 5 more free ships besides your starting ship. Check it out by internet search. As for this game I'm going to try it out.

Solid game, but I hate you for making me addicted to it!
I bought at least half the games in my library because of you alone.
Honestly.
It's only half because most of it is early access. Imagine if he only covered fully released games.

I think "top-down open world space shooter" is a really good description for these types of games.
My childhood best friend was obsessed with escape velocity, this brings back memories of the good od days. I hope he's okay.

Starsector is still a king in this genre, but nice game nevertheless
I just wish the RPG mechanics is more active than passive when it comes to space combat.
Having more of a good thing is always nice. Been waiting for the next major update for Starsector before jumping back in.
Was about to comment that. If you want this kind of game, but 10x more complex - check out starsector!
At least this one isn't trying to clone starsector. It's got a unique enough feel
Starsector is such a huge animal to wrangle.
Glad to see more people playing this! the dev is SUPER active on the discord and open to suggestions!
Thanks for the support! :)
Games like these can just be called a Space Shooter RPG.

One of my favourite games, been playing it for AGES!!! So much has developed over the last 3 months or so. Totally in my top 5 space games ever :)

You can call this "Mount and Blade but in space" genre, Splat
I call em SPAZzys. Because it's fun.
All of this started with the game Escape Velocity
Truth
You should check out Endless Sky, it's a free open-source successor available on Steam. Really good if you like the EV series.
I have 94 hours in this game. It is great with very regular updates and a lot more planned to be added before it reaches 1.0

"Space opera" is the correct terminology.
wish it had coop multiplayer. not necessarily mmorpg style but 1-4 player would be great
This may be added after full release ;)
It looks like a modern day Escape Velocity. Definitely a blast from the past and a great game.
