"Walking is the best medicine" - Hippocrates
Walking is essential for good health. Walking research is very clear. If you take a 30-minute walk each day, your heart will be dramatically healthier. As you walk, your heart pumps in a nice and relaxed manner, circulating oxygen-rich blood throughout your body. When your body is receiving this vital oxygen-rich blood and nutrients, your body and tissues stay younger and healthier. The benefits of walking for exercise are infinite.
Is walking for losing weight effective? A 30-minute walk can boost your metabolism for up to 12 hours after the walk! Pairing a healthy diet with a 30-minute walk can help you lose weight without exercise. Additional benefits of walking include strengthening your bones and improving your attention and memory.
Taking a walk after eating a meal is a great idea. Walking helps to decrease the blood sugar spike that happens after eating a meal. Start taking a walk every day and let us know how you feel in the comments below! 👇

In 2020, I was over 300 pounds. Back then I could barely walk 1000 steps for 10 minutes and feel winded afterwards.
I saw multiple videos about the benefits of walking. I started to walk for my health.
Today I am the healthiest I have ever been. I have lost over 100 pounds. There are days I can walk 16,000 steps. I sleep better. My mood has greatly improved. I am more confident.

10k steps is a myth. You don’t need that many. You can get the same benefit doing 6000-8000 steps a day. Anything over 8000 steps has no additional benefit. I added walking to my daily exercise program and without dieting in any way I moved from 275 pounds to presently 220 pounds in only 6 months. I dropped from size 42 pants to 38 and may be moving to size 36 soon. My mental focus has become very clear, I no longer suffer from depression, my blood pressure was high when I started but has normalized to about 131 over 70 taken just a few days ago. My breathing has improved and the oxygen level in my body has become very good, Even my eyesight is improving and my sense of smell and taste is increasing I find that my taste buds reject foods that are not good for me -- i don't think about it -- it just happens. I find myself craving apples for instance, and I never really cared for them before walking. I have people who are overweight ask me how I lost so much. I tell them all I did was added walking to my daily habits. For some reason people reject the idea and think you have to follow rigid diets etc. And lots of people will say walking is good for you BUT THEY DON'T DO IT.. Lol And they wonder why theiy stay overweight and havae so many health probllems.

I started walking 2 to 3 mins p/day. I am extremely ill with CRPS, a heart problem, diabetes, hypertension and problems in my back (spondylolisthesis a collapsed disc and two herniated discs) and circulatory problems in my legs and feet which cause extreme swelling. So after 3 minutes per day and 4 yrs I was able to increase my walking to 3 hrs per day(not consecutive) lower my bodyweight 120 pounds so far, my glucose went down from 520 to an average of 85-95, my blood preassure is normal, my heart is no longer tight and haven't had emergency situations in a while. My average pulse was about 88-90 now its 68-72. While I am still in extreme pain it allowed me to leave my room for the first time in years, also my migraines have decreased, the most severe one I had lasted 2 yrs 24/7. I started eating clean but walking has been a blessing in my life, so nothing my father taught me.

I have reintroduced myself to walking. My father was a serious walker until age 87.
When lockdown laws were relaxed, i gathered some of my friends, ages 45 - 60 yrs old. South Africa Cape has the most beautiful nature-walks on our door steps. We walk (with masks and physical distancing rules ) everyday. It is at that point that there is no controlling the craving to walk. We are all getting fitter, calmer and healthier overall. We attest to your findings. So we walk between 7.5km and 14 km per day. But, the inner voice will always tell you what nature has to offer.

    • @Better2BFree

Be EXTREMELY careful with wearing the mask!!!!!!!!!!!! It will impair your oxygen intake and increase your intake of carbon dioxide!!!!!!!! There are numerous videos demonstrating the dangers of wearing the mask. In fact, there is such a video on TH-cam where an OSHA approved device is used to reveal how the mask lowers you oxygen intake!!!!!!!

Thanks for this great vid! I'm 64 years old and I started walking in the mornings last year because my doctor recommended losing some weight as my bmi was closing in on obese, my blood pressure was on high side, and I was experiencing heart problems. My feet, ankles and knees were all screaming out 'we tired!', and I was getting more and more forgetful. I'm lucky enough to live next to a slight incline which gives me great workout. Today bmi, cholesterol and weight are all good. All the other aches and pains are gone. Memory has also greatly improved! I'm healthier today than I've ever been in my adult life! So, I'm living testimony of the benefits of walking.

You need to do a fit grandmothers too❣️ I really like how you put in the science in being a retired nurse. Because recently finding out that weights are more important than cardiovascular for weight loss yours convinces me both are important. And just from watching this video I decided after my prayer. In the morning which is about 5 to 6 AM I’m going to start walking for 30 minutes. I’m not Sure how long it takes me to walk to the park where there’s a lake I can walk around but tomorrow morning I’m about to find out and my mother and my son walked around the same lake and being in Florida you have to walk early in the morning or late in the afternoon after the sun goes down. So my best time would be in the morning. Since I’ve been doing daily intermittent fasting I will add after dinner walking just around my complex. Sometimes the older you get the harder your head but you also look at facts and that’s what you gave here today so thank you for that❣️🙏🏻

No more chasing balls and quick reversals. Very bad for dogs' knees and hips. At least half the walk is on grass. Some slow jogging. I'm 72. I live on a hill, so every walk includes up and down. My total time per day: 2 hours. Even during COVID. Nobody dares stop me. Lolol Oh, yes. I did get a bit sick once in April. Don't know if it was COVID. I had been taking oil of oregano for 2 months prior. I added Co Q10 (co-enzyme Q10) and shark liver oil, bromelain to prevent blood clots, and my normal Vit C, zinc and Vit E complex.

Hi to all. I am 62 years old and we're diagnosed with "high blood pressure" - that is history ! Presently I constantly have a BP 120/80 with a 71 pulse rate !! Solution - go easy on salt and sugar and walk, walk and walk - Absolute Bliss...

Take a walk after a meal really is making me feel good than just sit around, some how the benefit is real and time proven.

I started walking when the covid pandemic quarantine started in March after being idle for 3 years. One 30 min walk in the morning and 30 min walk at night and it has made me go back to being healthy and slowly build up my endurance.. I lost 6lbs during this time and still counting..

I had no idea that simply walking had so many benefits. We have been so bored being cooped up in the house with quarantine, now that I think about it there are lots of cool paths around our house to explore. Can't wait to start tomorrow, looking forward to the results!

I recently met a lovely 86 year old woman who walks on the beach at a pretty good clip every single morning at 5:30am for an hour with her 3 big dogs. She's been doing this for the last 17 years. She looks AMAZING and she's smart as a whip. She still works 6 days a week teaching English online because she loves it so much.

I love walking. My first walk is in the morning 6am.
I do walk in the evening, however I was walking first then eating dinner around 6:30pm to 7pm. Now, I’ll eat dinner around 5:30 -6:00pm then go for my evening walk.
