    The one thing that has always kept me on track personally was, drinking very cold water with a tiny hint of lemon right when I wake up.
    Then I would follow that with a high protein shake.
    Once that’s digested, about an hour or so, I’d eat a breakfast that would consist of 2 hard boiled eggs, 1/2 avocado spread over 1 slice of Dave’s killer seed bread sprinkled with turmeric, black pepper and salt, and 2 cups of raw veggies.
    Eating raw veggies with every single meal is what helped me stay on track.
    Even steamed worked fine.
    The #1 thing that helped me lose weight was when I’d stop eating after 6-7pm. If my bedtime was at 10pm, that gave me plenty of time to digest my dinner, and I swear when I would eat past 7pm, my fat loss wouldn’t be nearly as good.
    I don’t know why this is, but for me personally it’s always worked really well.
    If I did get ravenously hungry at night because I worked out hard that day, I’d eat 1/2C low fat cottage cheese with a tiny bit of fruit preserves. Cottage cheese apparently helps with melatonin production which helps you sleep better.

      A little bit of a twist but the same concept there’s a lot of value to room temperature water with a teaspoon of lemon and a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar there’s actually a ton of science behind it. Yes, first thing when you wake up and then brush your teeth. And if you’re thinking but I have heartburn all the time I can’t have that much acidic stuff, it actually keeps away heart burn and read up about ACV/lemon water it has soooo much good.

    Hey Doc. Since discovering this project about three weeks ago, I started my fitness journey. But, for donkey years, I have heard that room temperature water is the best, so I switched to that. My 16 year old son told me what they were saying about cold water was not true, but of course, I am the adult so I didn't listen. This project for me is a life-saver. You do not focus only on the outer but also the inner. And best of all Doc, you do not promise any three hour, thirty day or three month miracle. It is just a life style, healthy change. The toned and sexy part is just the icing on the cake. I will upload my progress soon. Doc, a big, huge and massive thank you for looking out for people our age. May God bless you and your family. Please take care. 🇯🇲 Jamaica.

    I’ve been successful incorporating all of that except coffee. I just hate the flavor of it.
    Anyway, I drink 24-48 oz water before I eat anything - that was my first simple lifestyle change about 2 years ago now. I am faithful about doing it daily too. MCT is a more recent add for me but it’s been super helpful as well. I do intermittently fast, on a 16/8 schedule. That’s now, when I first knew I had to make some lifestyle Changes (as in drinking more water and it is cold water most of the day), I started with simply not eating after 7PM. It was a simple, easy way to start. I use fasting 16/8 now to help my body become metabolically flexible. These days, I try to stop eating at 6PM too….I don’t always make it because, well, life but I don’t beat myself up for it either.
    I’ve lost 70-75 pounds, mostly over the first year or 15 months of implementing those simple changes.
    I’m now looking to gain muscle and get rid of some fat (or body recomp) for a leaner look. I’ll be 53 in a few weeks. My goal was to feel the best I could on that birthday and be able to be active and do the things I love to do. 😁
    I’ve really enjoyed finding so much helpful info on TH-cam and just subscribed to your channel. Now if you can help me get over my dislike of coffee, that would be something of a miracle.

Then stage 3 cancer hit and brutal chemo. Lost almost all muscle and lost 30 lb, also forced me into pseudo menopause. Had to follow chemo with 9 WEEKS of prednisone, inflammation, little sleep even 2 years later. Needless to say my body is still a wreck 2 years into remission. Thanks for the great advice!! I am a 47 year old woman and I have been lifting weights daily for the last few weeks - deadlifts (300 per week is my goal, but I definitely do more), bicep curls with 20 lb dumbbells, shoulder and chest presses, push-ups for no reason, goblet squats, and sprints (was running up to 20 miles a week but not dropping any weight). I also go outside every 2 hours and walk in the grass with no shoes and to maybe do some push-ups or burpees in the grass. I am seeing small improvements so far (nicer arms, a plumper butt, thighs showing some definition).

    If you are older and a beginner don’t start off with high intensity training. Instead build up your heart and lungs gradually. Sooner or later you’ll be able to do high intensity workouts. I know someone who died of a heart attack because his mindset was he can still do what he did when maybe 15 years younger than he was. Truth is even if something seems simple and you’ve done it before that doesn’t mean your heart is still built to do it today. So gradually build your heart and lungs to be able to do high intensity workouts and even more so when you are in the higher age ranges. I’m sure you all will get there have a great day.

    Thank you for this. I appreciate your insights. I am not discounting your suggestion to drink cold water, as it may work for some people, but I found the opposite to work effectively for me. I tried drinking cold water in the morning or any other time within the day, and found it to be bloating.....I am in my mid 50's.... I have 3 adult children and two grandchildren but people mistake me to be in my late 30's or early 40's. Over a decade, I have been drinking 4 cups of very warm water every morning upon waking up and it helps me maintain a flat stomach. Then I drink 2 cups of ginger, mint Green tea with 1/4 spoon of cinnamon and fresh lemon before my work out, and I stay energized from morning till 8 pm. I eat my first meal at 12 pm which consists of mixed nuts, half air roasted plantains then I drink my black coffee... My problem is that I have formed the habit of eating my dinner very late like 10 pm. My dinner is usually 2 scrambled eggs with onions, unfortified nutritional yeast, carrots, sugar snap peas, cucumbers, avocado and a small chunk of wild caught Atlantic mackerel or salmon. 1 hr after meal, I drink 4 cups of hot tea made with green tea, mint, chamomile, and cascara sagrada tea to help me with eliminate the next morning. I like going to bed by midnight. In the middle of the night, I often wake up and drink 3 cups of room temperature water. I also do metabolic exercise as well as run 10k and half marathons some Sundays . I ran half , full marathons and 10k's during my college and into my 40's... From 2020 to mid this year, I have participated and completed up to 4 or 5 Nike Run Club 100 and 120 miles challenge and finished them in 3 to 4 days. I meditate and do slight yoga and most of all live a very positive lifestyle.
    I am at a good size..I have a good muscle max, but my challenge is to stop eating after 8 pm.. Once again, thanks a million for the tips.

    The walk after a big meal, how long should the walk be?

    • @FitMotherProject
      @FitMotherProject  3 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Hey Lala, thanks for writing in and great question! The walk doesn't necessarily have to be long but probably somewhere in the 10-20min range works well. It's more of a leisurely stroll than an intense exercise session...just something to help aid in digestion and set the tone for the rest of the evening. Happy walking!

I try to do some nuts n water in the morning before my workout. But after 20 mins I can't even finish my video that's 30 min. Then I feel like a truck ran over me no energy. I've done a pre workout drink n sometimes I get a boost other times nothing?? What should I do. Thx

    Non-exercise activity thermogenesis (NEAT) is the energy expended for everything we do that is not sleeping, eating or sports-like exercise. It ranges from the energy expended walking to work, typing, performing yard work, undertaking agricultural tasks and fidgeting.

    Marvelous tips! Doing just a few of these modifications on a consistent basis is a great way to improve well-being. Many people get overwhelmed how to start making changes, many of your suggestions are things we do every day. We walk from the car to the office, why not add one extra lap around the building? Many folks drink coffee or tea on a daily basis. At work, I keep a pair of walking shoes under my desk so I can walk after I have my lunch. Thanks for another informative video. :)

    • @73cidalia
      @73cidalia 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If they hurt, don't do them. You can still get a decent butt and thigh workout with walking and doing steps/stairs. Do stretching exercises every day to make joints and muscles more flexible. And cut way back on refined carbs, high carb intake, and sugar. Those can contribute to joint inflammation.
