So you basically wrote an album's worth of riffs and motifs, demoed an amp inside out, through 18 guitars, on top of some killer playing? Damn you're good.
Yes that's correct. I wrote 50+ minutes of music (about 70+ different segments) with 24 different guitars. Just so that I could focus on my amp demos and other videos and use all those audio/video segments as the music. I figured it was the best way for me to create a lot of content. I'm very glad to hear that you appreciate this :)
Seriously, the best demo I've heard in a long time. With an amp like this you would normally hear detuned metal. I wish people would show all the genres this works well in . I play classic rock and blues for a few decades now. The Peavey ultra can do classic rock and blues very well but finding a footswitch is not as easy as it was 10 years ago lol. Great job
@@SonicDriveStudio It is an awesome job! The amount of information in this video, the quality of the riffs, the tones... I am saving on a playlist so I can get references on the settings :) Great work!
@@SonicDriveStudio some lists of bands that certain riffs were influenced by would be a huge help in chasing more songs to practice. "heavy passive baritone rock" kicks ass
Peavey should be paying you man! Best demo of this amp on youtube, and plus it really shows off the wide range of this amp. It's been so pigeonholed into the metal genre people forget that EVH designed this thing to be extremely versatile . It's a great for blues, jazz, pop/rock, classic rock, not just metal.
I've been lurking the SSO forums for a few months and I've been seeing your videos pop up every now and then. Honestly, this one of the best guitar gear demo channels out there. Really top notch. Keep it up my dude!
The best part about this video? You don't spend 20 minutes talking on and on about the amp and settings and all the other crap that people who like to listen to themselves talk on this website do. Thank you so much.
The clean sound of this amp is under appreciated. Sounds beautiful! The first time I played through mine I had so much fun with the clean tones. I already knew it was a beast for dirty tones, so I just got lost in the cleans for a while.
I have one coming in the post but from what I have heard online including this very video I absolutely love the cleans. They have a dark crunchy warmth I really love
The 6505 is a much more versatile amp than people give it credit for. Having owned one, I find it very annoying to hear a demo of one that is nothing but heavy chugging. It can do so much more, and do it very well. The rhythm channel with the crunch switch on is one of my favorite amp sounds. I rarely use the lead channel on mine.
Best demo ever. Man I want one of these. I bet Peavey is happy when Mesa Boogie comes out with their $2000-$3000 or more heads ...meanwhile this Peavey amp kills !!!
really digging how you got a riff for every tone without getting boring. i even like styles i usually don't like when listening to you. awesome tone demos and awesome playing! keep it up❤️
That clean tone was a breath of fresh air. I get so tired of everyone saying that the only good clean tone is a Fender one. Generic much? Yes, Fender has a great clean tone but how homogenized does the music need to be in order to please people's need for the "Holy Grail" of clean tones that supposedly only can come from a Fender amp. And brother, not all Fender amps throughout their years have the same level of quality clean tone.
The Peavey has a great clean sound. I own an original 5150 and love it. That said, Fender really is THE clean tone. It just is. But, the complainers either don't know how to tone shape (MANY are clueless) or they should just buy a Fender. But, saying the clean channel "sucks" just reflects ignorance.
Holy smoking BAT SHIT bro!!!!!! Is our TH-cam for good demo/guitar playing vids and I have to say, I absolutely love not only your style and creativity of playing, but your personality that you are putting into what you’re creating. That was some of the catchiest heavy riffing and some of the most beautiful clean playing I’ve ever heard! I wish I could pay you to teach me lessons.
You honestly sold me on the 6505....again. I had the 6505+ back in the day and loved it. I never realized it was as versatile as it is because I have always used EMG's and mostly just played metal. Now I'm off to find another!
This video is ridiculously good. Thanks for making and sharing. I especially love your lead phrasing. It doesn't sound like you're cloning anyone in particular. Great stuff.
Crazy good production quality and amazing demo! It’s my first and only tube amp and it’s amazing to hear it have so many different sound profiles. Thank you!
I honestly didn’t expect your guitar playing to be so versatile in different styles of genres. I am a fender twin reverb guy now wanting to try a peavey amp...
Found this a few months after i bought a used 5150 sig font head. This makes me love my decision even more :) Great tones, awesome amp. cool guitars! That's where it all depends, it's not just the amp settings & speakers, but the guitar & pickups that dictate the tone you're after. Amazing work, keep it up!
Hats off. I play completely different styles but you are the real deal. One enormous demo. I completely moved from Gibson to LTD. Played Gibson for decades. All Mahogany LTD simply better if you swap the EMG pickups out. LTD does what Gibson is supposed to be doing and missed the boat. The "authentic" mess made my move to ESP/LTD and Kiesel permanent. To my ears the LTD's/ESPs were just miles ahead whenever you played them.
