Tim, Watching a sawmill cutting is so relaxing for me. But your choice of music just adds icing to the cake after a long stressful day at work. Thank you for the stress relief. Dave
Good job on the poplar log. You really got some nice boards out of it. We mill a lot of poplar. The only thing about poplar is it’s got a mind off its own. It can not set still, it will work you to death flipping it. Thanks for share. Take care Sir.
I would expect all green, browns ,, even the purple will all turn to brown when exposed to light, the sun. Some small bit of the purple may survive Poplars when aged white and brown,, the white is actually brown,, but the heart wood, gets really dark. The Best use of poplars is paint. a cured poplar board is stable and grips paint better than almost any wood. Shiny black grand pianos are poplar
Tulip poplar is one of my favorites to saw, and that was a beautiful log. I'm sawing materials for a sugar shack soon, it will be mostly tulip. I have an LT40 super with 42HP kubota diesel power and woodmizer twin blade edger also with kubota diesel power. At any rate, great video, great channel. I just liked and subscribed. John

Beautiful popular! Love working with that wood!
Nicely Done.
At last, someone who has taken the time to properly explain the process! Many thanks.
Well done.
Fantastic Music. Oh yeah, the wood was nice too. Stay safe and God bless 🇨🇦✌️
Really enjoyed your video.
Thank you!
First of your videos I have watched.
I enjoyed your calm explanations.
Great wood for drumsets too! Too bad ludwig doesn't make American tulip poplar sets.
Got me some poplars laying down gotta get to them soon, sawed 8 of them a few years back @ 7/4 x 10' , avg size 18" to 20" across
Most people don’t know that tulip trees are not in the poplar family: it is a magnolia family
Thank you ...
You're welcome!
I've watched a lot of sawmilling videos but I have never seen that edger before. Very interesting! You got a new subscriber here.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and beautiful wood. Do you have a kiln? I would like to see it if you do.
Beautiful log and lumber
Love the music, who is that?
That was a very nice log. Great job milling it.
Dave

one i hope to have that 40 or a 50... Thank you buddy, always welcome here
Question, why do so many ppl cut 1 bys. Last year we cut up a 9.5ft 3way 140 ft tall popular.
I really didn't see much stress in that log. I've found a straight and even pith log 9 times out of 10 doesn't have stress in it. Nice looking lumber.
So relaxing...
yes, yes it is
An edger would be nice.
yes sir
Haven't cut any poplar on the mill yet, but some pretty lumber!
when you do you wont want anything else
Do you saw the pith on poplar? That seems to be where the colors are.
i try to stay out of the pith due to it is incredibly unstable. I rather cut around it
Hey just found your channel, what edger is that and do you like it? Thanks
that is a TIM2000..... Its homebuilt out of a refrigerator, ventilation ducting, old pipe, windshield wiper motors etc. and I love it
Gave you a sub and like . viewing from Australia 🦘.
thank you sir hope you enjoy more
