I have owned 3 W124’s including my 1990 300CE which I still have, one of the best coupes ever. I moved on to a W210 E 320 in 2000. Kept that one for years and gave it to my son, who ran it up to 240K. I still have my wife’s 2000 E430 and my 2001 E430 Sport. The sport looks exactly like this car only I have 18” rims from a CLS on it. Amazing car.

Have two of them. Daily drivers. Had new cars my whole life and I can't go back to their plastic garbage. W124 all the way

Owned 4 of them, and still own one currently. Great cars even by today's standard.

Iconic design, classy, elegant, timeless, built like a tank
All of the above are nowhere to be found in today’s Mercedes.

Mercedes pricing back then was like Maserati (new, not used) pricing now. They were so much higher than the other brands!

really wanted that car so bad as a kid. Now can't find this beaty in descent shape and did that car from paper, cut details, glued them together in scale 1:24 (proof in my vid). also have 1:43 from Minichamps scale model collectibles

Depends in what area. Better driving performance in the w124. The LS was designed as a competitor to the w126 and w140 though. Not the w124 which is a much smaller car.

Different cars in so many ways, and LS was more like an S-class. As mentioned though, pricing was quite different back then and the LS400 was a comparative bargain. The Audi V8 was more like the LS400 and S-class as well, but Audi didn’t have the nerve to price it like Mercedes at that time like they do now.
