soundtrack is a very hard one for me. all of the games have amazing soundtracks to be honest. but the best rockstar made for gta has to be gta 5 soundtrack. there are like 15 tracks for police chases alone.... all with different levels on how heavy the chase is

I remember rushing home from school to watch the first trailer for gta 4. I don’t remember if it was on G4 or TH-cam. I was a freshman in high school. Just got off the bus, ran down stairs to watch this on our brand new 32 in Samsung lcd 720p tv we got on Black Friday for like $400. And I was blown away at the graphics, the detail, the setting. I was immediately hooked. I believe it was the first gta game I ever beat. I loved it. Miss this times so much!!!
Gta 4 is still ahead of its time. Especially when it comes to its successors. The Car driving behavior, especially when it comes to corners. Car damage, bullet holes, ragdoll physics, parkour, explosions, etc. Gta 5 on the other hand seems cheap, as if it hadn't made the slightest effort and comes across as if it were the unfinished predecessor.
I feel like channels fail to highlight how phenomenal the bullet holes were in GTA 4. Loved how you could spray a car and they would stay unlike what we had before 2007.
I remember getting this the day it came out here in Ireland and I played it so long in one sitting that I got a crick in my neck and couldn't go into school for several days and then when I came back to school they were all making fun of me saying I just took all the days off to play it.
I got a glitch when I was 60 something % through the game where I'd never get the next phone call to give me the next mission so I dropped the game. It's pretty cool though
GTA IV, GTA III, and Vice City are my favorite Grand Theft Auto games. Yes I've played the Stories games and the birds-eye view games, even GTA IV Java and GTA 1 and 2 Game Boy Color, not on original hardware though. A video you might want to do in the future is showing your video game collection
I wish Sony would give us a proper backwards compatible console instead... but yeah, at this point a remaster of this game would be nice. Especially the entire trilogy on one cd

Best way to describe this game with be, powerful. The dreary atmosphere of liberty city, the physics, the storyline, the music, driving, fighting, shooting… it all felt powerful. When you shot your pistol at someone, you felt it. Every punch you threw, you felt it. Every car crash you got into, it felt brutal. The story is an emotional rollercoaster, with a comedic touch. Niko is honestly my favourite protagonist, he feels authentic compared to the other GTA characters. He’s a bit of a serious character but he does have his funny side. Funny after all these years we come to realize that it’s this game that could be up there on the above of GTA’s lists. It’s my top one for now.
My biggest problem with this game was the fact the camera turns after the car turns, running you head on into traffic, unless you manually turn the camera with the car, which gets real tedious when you have to cross the city or are trying to escape cops. Other than that, it is the best one so far.
gta 4 works good on my steam deck after my pc kick the bucket, would play on that for sure over the console port with old textures. on pc/steam deck it at lease looks like a 2014 game.
GTA is supposed to be hard. It has to be hard to drive, it has to be hard to shoot, you need to master parkour to catch the other guy - thats the beauty. Because your skill training is the captive part which brings you back again and again. GTA 6 is most probably going to be a arcade controls style cash cow and we will witness the downfall of the gaming industry leader.

A lot of Xbox 360 and PS3 games are in SD and get upscaled to 720p if I remember correct and only a few are true 720p or 1080p. Back then they still looked good. But next to PS4 and Xbox One you can tell the HD from those consoles are better.
I personally believe GTA 4 is the best in the series. It was such a leap forward gameplay and presentation wise. I really wish Xbox had an upgrade through backwards compatibility to upscale the game. It looks good but could look so much better.
"GTA 4 was repetitive." Like basically every other GTA game let's be honest. Drive, kill, etc. GTA 4 is just the more mature GTA with the most believable characters. You're not pulling off cartoonish Saints Row style heists like in GTA 5.

and who tf cares if you can pick up objects from the ground in Gta 4? That feature is so small and minor and not a real main mechanic in the game. The only time that mechanic is seen is when you have to do it in one mission and after that mission is done it makes the function of that game mechanic useless. Gta 5 improved in most aspects from Gta 4. The blinded nostalgia you have is crazy. Gta 4 was already a downgrade from Gta San Andreas so I don't see it touching Gta 5 when it comes to the main concept of the game.
One GTA that I also liked a lot was GTA Liberty city stories mainly because I enjoyed playing as Toni Cipriani I thought it was cool he felt more like a bad ass character out of Goodfellas.
For anyone that didn't play 3, then Vice City, then San Andreas when they came out it is hard to understand just how much of a leap SA was and how much it blew everyone away. It's funny because I remember IGN giving it 9.9/10 because they were so reluctant to give anything 10/10. Now they hand em out like, well like leave the analogys to this guy.
Yep. To be unbias San Andreas is the absolute best. Even though my personal favorite is Liberty City Stories and for two reasons: 1) its time setting(I love the late 90's to late 2000's). 2) It has the best type of gameplay. GTA 3 and GTA 4 also takes place in that era that I love, but GTA 3 suffers from a few outdated game mechanics and with a lousy soundtrack. And GTA 4 feels so heavy that it makes you feel you're under water.

There's more to a GTA than stupid unrealistic ragedoll physics that launches you to space every f**king second you barely hit another vehicle. GTA has always been about the story, missions, open world exploration, side activities and music and GTA 4 fails heavily in all of these categories. The story is easily not the best in the franchise and totally contradicts the gameplay. You have niko whyning about how America is bad and his home country paradise all the time. "I don't want to kill people," buh he ends up shooting a guy for trying to date his cousins girlfriend. The missions are easily the worst in the franchise. Even GTA 3 had more variety like breaking a guy out of prison, bombing that ship and many more. Here it's all, go to point A, shootout, Rinse and Repeat. The open world is so lifeless and empty and the black and white filter does it more harm than good. You don't need a stupid filter to tell us the world is dark and gritty. The world has almost no side activity, just bowling bowling bowling. By the end of the game you end up with so much money but can't do anything with all of it. Easily not TOP 3 GTA
There will NEVER be as big of a leap in graphics/gameplay/physics quality as it was from San Andreas to GTA IV. Never. GTA IV on PC at max graphics and high resolution still holds up against any modern game. It even beats many of them in many aspects. Prove me wrong!
Absolutely not. Aside from the good story, GTA IV was complete ass. The driving mechanics are the worst in any GTA game, every single vehicle handles like you’re steering a boat. And instead of expanding the horizon on next gen hardware, there’s actually less to do than San Andreas! Liberty City is also a boring grey setting as lame as the city it’s based on.
To this day is the best GTA in the series. Just think about "07 we had games like Bioshock, Portal 2, COD Modern Warfare, Half Life Episode 2 and GTA IV still made its mark in a great year for gaming.

and who tf cares if you can pick up objects from the ground in Gta 4? That feature is so small and minor and not a real main mechanic in the game. The only time that mechanic is seen is when you have to do it in one mission and after that mission is done it makes the function of that game mechanic useless. Gta 5 improved in most aspects from Gta 4. The blinded nostalgia you have is crazy. Gta 4 was already a downgrade from Gta San Andreas so I don't see it touching Gta 5 when it comes to the main concept of the game.

One GTA that I also liked a lot was GTA Liberty city stories mainly because I enjoyed playing as Toni Cipriani I thought it was cool he felt more like a bad ass character out of Goodfellas.

Sa Andreas is the best GTA
For anyone that didn't play 3, then Vice City, then San Andreas when they came out it is hard to understand just how much of a leap SA was and how much it blew everyone away. It's funny because I remember IGN giving it 9.9/10 because they were so reluctant to give anything 10/10. Now they hand em out like, well like leave the analogys to this guy.

Yep. To be unbias San Andreas is the absolute best. Even though my personal favorite is Liberty City Stories and for two reasons:
1) its time setting(I love the late 90's to late 2000's).
2) It has the best type of gameplay. GTA 3 and GTA 4 also takes place in that era that I love, but GTA 3 suffers from a few outdated game mechanics and with a lousy soundtrack. And GTA 4 feels so heavy that it makes you feel you're under water.

Definitely a top 5 game, at least with GTA
There's more to a GTA than stupid unrealistic ragedoll physics that launches you to space every f**king second you barely hit another vehicle. GTA has always been about the story, missions, open world exploration, side activities and music and GTA 4 fails heavily in all of these categories.
The story is easily not the best in the franchise and totally contradicts the gameplay. You have niko whyning about how America is bad and his home country paradise all the time. "I don't want to kill people," buh he ends up shooting a guy for trying to date his cousins girlfriend. The missions are easily the worst in the franchise. Even GTA 3 had more variety like breaking a guy out of prison, bombing that ship and many more. Here it's all, go to point A, shootout, Rinse and Repeat.
The open world is so lifeless and empty and the black and white filter does it more harm than good. You don't need a stupid filter to tell us the world is dark and gritty. The world has almost no side activity, just bowling bowling bowling. By the end of the game you end up with so much money but can't do anything with all of it.

There will NEVER be as big of a leap in graphics/gameplay/physics quality as it was from San Andreas to GTA IV. Never. GTA IV on PC at max graphics and high resolution still holds up against any modern game. It even beats many of them in many aspects. Prove me wrong!

Absolutely not. Aside from the good story, GTA IV was complete ass. The driving mechanics are the worst in any GTA game, every single vehicle handles like you’re steering a boat. And instead of expanding the horizon on next gen hardware, there’s actually less to do than San Andreas! Liberty City is also a boring grey setting as lame as the city it’s based on.

To this day is the best GTA in the series. Just think about "07 we had games like Bioshock, Portal 2, COD Modern Warfare, Half Life Episode 2 and GTA IV still made its mark in a great year for gaming.
