I'm really out of words. I mean seriously! If Nokia revives this phone or any of their devices of that era like N8, etc with modern day hardware and Android OS, then damn, it would be amazing and I would pick it even over the latest and the greatest Samsung Galaxy or iPhone in the market any day of the week.

Nokia E90 was my last nostalgic phone which I used for a little while in 2018. You should make a video on Nokia E90, or perhaps on the other phones I never got like Nokia N86 or Nokia E75. Thank you for making this great video, you brought back nostalgia, something I really needed since it’s been 4 weeks of severe insomnia with no sleep. I was feeling desperate and you brought lots of good feelings back. Thank you for making great looking videos.

Oh, this is once again one of the best phones. Nokia really has to restart the E-Series, and those kind of sliders. I mean, take just that phone, upgrade it to a bit more up-to-date design and hardware, and you've a perfect phone. And pretty much no competition

    • @AlexMafija
      @AlexMafija 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes there are other slider phones competing in a very small market
Don’t expect radical steps from manufacturers like Htc or Nokia
They just try to survive they don’t have the resources or the backing to try to reinvent the wheel they had their shot

Yeah just think if Nokia hadn't gone the Microsoft route, and continued developing Symbian and the newer 'Meego'. As I have mentioned somewhere else, imagine what S60/Meego would be like in 2021? Add the modern day hardware, and, hell! They'd be beast, and when made with proper software via todays software engineers...
Oh in an alternate reality eh fella? 🤔😏😎🇬🇧

@@namesurname4666 Yeah I understand that, but I was more "just imagine if things were different" say. Let's face it, as MrNokia - Abdulla has said, Symbian and then Meego is, was such a powerful OS with regards to multitasking, polished OS design, clean interface etc.. So yeah, if markets were just slightly different then, man, came you imaging Nokia now? Completely different with possibly quite a powerful option in the world of phones and apps etc. Maybe even if instead of Nokia joining Microsoft, if they instead went Android OS, their Hardware in many factors were quite cutting edge/class leading, like for one example 'Clearview'/41 Mp camera... 🤔😏😎🇬🇧

Recently there have been rumours of Blackberry reviving their QWERTY phone line up. Would love to see the communicator revived as well as part of Nokia's move to revive an old phone every year. Honestly a slider Qwerty could be the new USP in today's world of identical designs for every brand. Worth taking a risk.

I had this back in the day, I enjoyed it. I have tried relatively recently to use it again, besides calls and messaging most everything besides that is useless. Nokia tied this phone into their servers in almost every way and since those servers are down the services are also now gone. And installing apps is next to impossible. There are some ways to upgrade a security certificate to get some apps to run, but it's a hit and miss venture. If I were to use a Communicator today it'd be the 9500 as that's not tied into the Nokia services like the E7 was. And allows for more versatility when it comes to apps and such. I really wish they'd release a new Communicator!

    Abdullah!
My favorite features of old Nokias are all centered on the Symbian programs embedded with the on-board applications..
    1. The sound recorder - once they got "high quality" (mono) recording mode.. (N95 sucks!!! - 6220/E72/52/75./N8 etc rocks! )
    2. Cameras (my favorits are either /w xenon flash or preferably at least 5 Mp cameras)
3.Active notes (seems to have totally been scrapped and disapeared after the touch nokia symbian Anna/Bell came along)
A great great feature is this last thing - the active note program - where a separate folder was created for each active note copying anything and all add ons you dragged into your active note: It is a super great way to do diary on the fly with snapping photos, some added qwerty-texting*, drag in a sound recording from a separate recording made on the side (since active note makes a poor amr-quality sound recording) and more..
*Naturally qwerty-keyboard devices are a great feature where my first Nokia E61 - way back in 2006 - really was not there yet with a clumsy keyboard.. Nokia E71 was ok but after the E72 - they nailed a perfect thumb nail qwerty typing experience..
It is quite sad that the great Nokia N8 does not have the active note on board and the pro recording program for Nokia pureview 808 would be awsome if possible to obtain to insert via sisx-files installation for upgrading Symbian Belle devices.... I believe it is quite the task trying to find the dl for it though, sadly..

    • @DPPOfficial
      @DPPOfficial 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Microsoft made them really bad. The designs and over all quality were still okay, but Windows Mobile really just sucked, and over all, the kind of "uniqueness" and character of a Nokia phone. But Windows was the biggest draw-back. Symbian was so superior at the time, and still would be, if there was support. I surely hope that Nokia gets back on their feet. The first step being making old-fashion-nokia-unique-styled phones again, and the second step getting their own OS again, you know, reworking Symbian, and getting good support for it again.

This phone looks good, but today you can not do anything with him!!! Tell me, if I was wrong??? In my country 🇲🇰, this phone is max 20€(20$), in very good condition, in box, like new... but nobody uses any more???

Hey, Great nostalgia video as always. love your content. I'd suggest you minimize repeating mentioning the device name with sequential sentences cause after a while it becomes tiring to listen to it. just mention it every now and then to remind us what device it is.

That was 2010's Samsung Fold 2. Such a dope phone it was.
Fantastic speed, fabulous keyboard, unbeatable build quality.
System was able to do a lot, when symbian apps were still developed, it had a lot of good applications in the store.
In 2010, for its time, it was also a superb and unmatchable gps map quality. AND OFFLINE, by that time with expensive bills for the internet and only with 3g antennas that was the fantastic feature. Battery life - 2 days no problem.
It had only one downside - camera.
Fixed focus on a business phone? WTF?
How do you take a picture of the documents with fixed focus?
If not that, I would probably used my E7 for longer than until 2015.
    Best regards from Poland.

Yes, we now take things like free GPS for granted, but Nokia was a pioneer in the field, and it was such a nice thing to have back in the day, especially offline for traveling :)
      Thanks for passing by!

The lack of SD card slot was annoying. We have the fxtec pro that is the closest. I feel ergonomics peaked with the E7.

Good memories of this one. One of my, if not the first, steps in the world of smartphones. My other touchscreen phones where just dumbphones with akward touch screens.

This was my first "real" smartphone after the Sony Ericsson k450i, though I did try the N97 mini before (which I actually liked, but which had serious quality issues/defects, so I returned it). I got the E7 in 2012. The E7 has such an amazing built quality and nice design (especially when comparing to the N900 which I almost bought) - except for the USB port. One major drawback for me was the lack of an autofocus camera. I used to photograph a lot of pages in the university library, and it was a horrible experience with the E7. Ultimately I got another phone just for the purpose of taking photos of book pages, and that was the E71. With the E71 I realized that I liked using the keyboard in vertical mode and that writing in horizontal mode really wasn't great on or rather with a widescreen. I had the chance of getting a cheap used Nokia E6, so I took it, and it would have been great if it didn't have the same lack of autofocus as the E7. It started to show problems with the keyboard soon, so the E7 remained my main phone despite showing signs of a usb charging port problem, but I got a used E72 as my new secondary phone which btw. is still in use today by my son. The E72 is such a nice device (though I like the appearance of the E71 slightly better). The E7's USB port stopped working in 2016, so, having made good experience with candy bar style keyboard phones I switched to the BlackBerry Priv. Still, from a quality and esthetic standpoint the E7 remains unbeaten imho.
P.S. I really hated how the icons and clock looked since the Anne/Belle update.

Fun fact: The map software by Navteq and the successor by Nokia was used on navigation devices under the brand Becker (They were very popular in Germany in the late 2000's-early 2010's) made by the now bankrupt United Navigation.
