  • In this video I talk about my top 5 favourite Nokia Phones of all time. Well, not including Nokia phones released since 2016, as that will be in another video :) The list proves how I personally never put much thought into RAW specs but focused on other aspects beyond the numbers when I was choosing my own Nokia phones to buy. Can you guess how many Nokia Lumia or Symbian devices would be included? :)
    00:00 - Introduction
    00:54 - Number 5
    02:18 - Number 4
    03:51 - Number 3
    04:46 - Number 2
    05:57 - NUMBER 1!
    07:58 - What's your list?

Up to this day the Nokia N9 has been the MOST satisfying device I have ever used. It was perfect in every way. If Nokia management had the foresight and faith back then, Meego Harmattan might have been the Number 1 operating system today.

My top 3 favourite smartphone is
    1. Nokia Lumia 1520 (remember that halo game)
    2. Nokia Lumia 920 (most beautiful smartphone of that time and also innovative)
    3. Nokia N9 (No words for this smartphone, it was 5,6 years ahead of its time)
How beautiful were those days (2010 to 2014) when we play games on our parent's nokia phone. Bounce, Angry Birds, Modern Combat on Nokia. Today's generation never feel that excitement to use smartphone which we felt with Nokia 🔥. Today's smartphone is just so boring and nothing new.
If today nokia launches N9 with Android 12 I would like to buy it.

Nokia was suppressed in the U.S too. It was like the cell phone makers and the cell networks were in cahoots to keep Nokia down, unlike years earlier when Nokia had a large market share in the U.S.

Yep N9 number 1 forever, it was like a Tesla driving around surrounded by Ford Model Ts. Everyone would always ask me what kind of phone it was and when I showed them the swipe UI they were just blown away. Even the latest Android gestures don't hold up, it was revolutionary

4: 735 (I bought it used, but accompanied me on my first F1 GP, and helped me create unforgettable memories)
3: N900 (for me that was the ultimate phone for many years)

    - Nokia E7 (super nobel and super cool with the keyboard)
    - Nokia Lumia 800 (wow!)
    - Nokia Lumia 830 (perfect match between Hard- and Softwear, together with 930 last true Nokia ever?)
    - Nokia 9 hmd (best looking Android ever, it feels so valuable with the shiny blue glass and the metal frame, so sad that the softwear is so unfinished)
After 16 years of Nokia Phones i had to change to Sony :/

My first phone that replaced walkmen was my 5300. My first touch screen phone was the Nokia 5800 and that took memory cards, which I definitely took advantage of.
The N9 was a far more refined version of N8. I wanted a N9, but never ended up with an N9. I used the Nokia N8 A LOT and it was fantastic! The N8 had a revolutionary camera at the time. When the N9 came along, I ended up ditching Nokia for Samsung and got a Samsung Galaxy Note (original).
There was so much innovation in phone tech during the 2000s and early 2010s. So much fun!

OMG man, N9 is definitely the most innovative phone Nokia ever made! Not gonna lie, lots of smartphones, even for those came out in 2022 are inspired by the Nokia N9. The system design is just so future proved that I feel like it was designed in 2022. 1. 5300 xpressmusic. I eventually replaced it with a 5310 but even with its flaws (2.5 jack especially) i loved it so much.
    2. 3200. Cutout covers. I think it's the only phone that ever had that feature.
    3. 3210. It was amazing at the time because at least where i live it was one of the first few phones without a physically protruding antenna.
    4. 8210. The popular kids had it back then and we were all just "wow blue backlight!"

I think I've made very reasonable choices throughout the years, so this is both my top 5 and the actual phones I've had throught the years: 6600 (broken hand-me-down I fixed); 6630 (fastest phone on a budget for many years); E51 (it had WiFi!); 5800xm (look ma', no buttons!); N900 (look ma', all the buttons. Actually no, it's my laptop. In my pocket). I recently got myself a PalmPre only so I could put it next to the N900 as the only linux-phone cousin.

Nice choices! N9 was always my dream, yet was too expensive for me when it came out on the market. Now it’s pretty difficult to buy it as an original (not saying the new one). Plus in my country still it’s not cheap as for the device that “cannot” be used. Anyway… With my list I would be more nostalgic…
    5. 3410 it wasn’t my first Nokia’s phone but I used to use it a lot. I like the classic design and beautiful green color.
    4. 3100 don’t know why… I really appreciated that it was small enough to fit in pencil case during exams at school xD
    3. 6300 was my first that kind of classy cellphone. Metallic body with black glossy front. Big screen and much more options.
3.2 one more third place because during my 6300 journey I had an opportunity to use also the blue warrior 5310 XpressMusic. In that time when MP3 players were so common and popular, it was fun to have something like that built in phone. And its plastic body was seriously solid.
2/2.1 I didn’t have any of these two but I desired them even more than N9. E7 and N900. Sliders were so popular yet I’ve never had any…
1 first place goes to Lumia 925. My first and last Nokia’s device. I loved almost everything about that phone. It looked stunning with its clear and simple design, worked fast and I really enjoyed Windows Phone 8.1 and then (insider program) W10M. Both nice systems that were killed by bad decisions.
Yep. This could be my list heh

    3. Nokia n93i - the design was genius
    4. Nokia e90 - the ultimate communicator back then
    5. I can't decide between Nokia 6260 and 7610. I love these two. Their designs were iconic.
P.S. I didn't really like Nokia phones after the N96.

Then the 6101 and 3200 would be equal next place... the epic cool factor and unbelievably good value for money!!! I had a 1520 that was a monster of a phone! And worked PERFECTLY!!!... until the software upgrade from Window 8.0 to 8.1... which it didn't take well... and apparently that was common to the 1520 and then how could i not mention my first ever phone... the 5110... because... well... take time relatively and Do another list as you left the greatest phone ever The NOKIA N-gage. That phone played games that were playable in ps1 23 years ago. 23YEARS MANNNNN.

I was an ardent nokian like you, started with 6680 > x6 > 1616 > lumia 720 > 808 > lumia 1020 > jolla phone (beacuse WP was becoming obsolete and it was had to find apps, but I wasn't ready for android yet thus sailfish) Then the Nokia 5. But, with the nokia 5, I realized that this wasnt the nokia i liked. So bought a pixel, it has some old nokia vibes to it with the camera, gestures and UI.

Thanks much for this nice video.
My favourite "old" Nokia phone is also the N9 that I discovered lately when I bought it refurbished. When I tried it, I wanted to cry and scream, because it's better than many modern phones and very angry on Nokia's decision to discontinue it ... and if I have the possibility to use on it all apps that I use, I can use it as my daily driver... even if I like my XR20, and I would like also a comparative of modern Nokia smartphones.

I need to give it another go. I used to be a lot more patient with technology and the 808 requires patience. But I've tested it recently against new phones and its unbelievable how clean its images are

A bit of shame that no communicator made to this list, because they were super cool. It's not about specs, but IMO it was so cool to have slide out keyboard, very capable OS with apps, desktop tier web browsing experience and so many features in one brick. And some early ones had a full x86 chips inside them, so you could technically run full desktop tier software, but yeah it was slow, very slow, but IMO those were the first "smartphones" before PDAs. They weren't just some gimmick, but something that completely blew me away. I do admit that I newer saw one IRL, but I saw it in ads and they were like alien tech. Those were probably the most "holy shit" moment in mobile tech industry with second time being with iOS/Android/Symbian, when first 3D games came out with console tier graphics.

In terms of Nokia Camera I like all the Nokia Phones that used a zenon flash & carl Zeiss Camera, like Nokia N808, N8, N82 etc. Because it can shoot like a digital camera in the night time and this is the only camera that can shoot the electric fan stops the fan while it is on power. Please Just try Boss shoot the electric fan while it's on and only the nokia with carl Zeiss and Zenon flash can stop on the picture the electric fan.

I will never forget that day I've bought my cyan Lumia 520. I was 13 years old and I saved up for it out of my pocket money and despite of people around me had iPhones and high specs Samsungs I was like "I have the best mobile phone in the world." and this is exactly the irracional thing about it. I know that that phone isn't some kind of fancy flagship and doesn't have good specs on paper and I knew it in those days too, but I simply loved it. I loved the way, the system was working on it. It was so something original and different but also smooth and stable on the other hand.
And that's it. Nokia phones are not the phones you choose logically, because in that way it's almost always a compromise, but you choose them by heart.

The N9 and the Developer only N950 were the only Meego Phones ever built. Too bad no one wanted to develop apps for the outdated when completed OS. They had very few popular apps like facebook and angry birds. Paled in comparison to apps on the IOS and Android App Store at the time.

    My top 5:
    5. Nokia 3210 - perfect design, with one flaw - no vibration motor
    4. Nokia N95 - "a laptop in a pocket size" - that is how i used it every day, to surf, listen to music and play online games
    3. Nokia 8210 - "look how small my phone is - yours looks like a brick"
    2. Nokia 6300 - design that will stay slick forever - two LED notification lights, one of each side
    1. Nokia 1020 - perfect companion for every day
