Beautiful! Well done, dude. Those sexy Omilu have been at the top of my hit list every time I’ve been to Maui. I’ll get another chance next year. It’s friggin wild that you snagged em. Blue and silver is my go-to lure over there, when I’m not whippin stanky bait.
Box for the lure is at 7:35 it looks to be a Yozuri F1145 B Crystal 3D Minnow 90mm (3/1-/2") in the silver blue color scheme code GHIW. It's a good imitation for opelu or akule and many predator bellies have those in them. You should also look at Yozuri F1163 and the F1157 (this one is suspending). Tight lines.
Awesome fishing! I love Yo-Zuri, lost a wahoo in Hilo on a Mag Darter 6 1/2 also a blue color. Hawaii fish seem to like the blue but I can’t wait to try some chartreuse next time I’m out there. I’ve expanded my collection since last time…. Also I replace the treble hooks with singles on my lures. It’s a bit more civil towards the fish if you end up releasing.
Good job on your first time casting a stick bait! I fish Yozuri, Calissa flash minnows, Lucky Craft CIF minnows and Daiwa SP minnows. Definitely use pliers when fishing lures, nothing worse than having a hook buried in your hand and a fish flopping around, been there, done that. I also remove the middle treble on the Calissa and Lucky Craft minnows, I only fish them with two hooks. I change out the split rings and the other 2 treble hooks as well. I install heavier owner split rings and use 3X heavy hooks 1 size larger than the originals. I have had fish straighten out the stock trebles too many times. I would always rather throw lures over cut bait. Nothing out fishes live bait! 🤙🏼
Mean brah after watching your vidéo i bought one ,hooked one big papio and another big ono (barracuda) thanks again brah like 4 fish in one session by the reef 🤙🤙🤙🤙magic lure
Yozuri rapalas duo lure and just about any jerk bait works I also like pencil lures but imo lures are much more rewarding when you catch a good fish on it vs bait baits to easy and there's not as much of a challenge catching predators with bait
Bro I just bought this same lure and now I’m so stoked now after watching your video! What kine knot did you tie? Can you make a video on the knots you use?

I use the smaller ones from the ewa beach fishing store, the gold and orange one. That lure catches Everything. Best lure for sure.
Best lures to use around Kihei?
Hahaha letting out the secret!! I love those things ! I debarb my hooks because its way easier to take out and most times i C&R :)

Yozuri is tbh my favorite brand…there popers are good too

When I sail my boat in Kbay I troll that exact blue lure 50' behind the boat, with a hot pink Rapala Xrap 15 diving plug 30' back. Action 9/10 times.
Do you use the sinking model or the floating model of the lure?

@@SaltwatersHawaii where is this spot ?
Nice job....but you should have thrown them back so they can grow and you can fight them again next time.
I bet from now on you'll cast bait and whip lures.
Next time kill the fish instead of making them suffer. Yozuri lures are the real deal. Japanese know what their doing 😊
no los pises .
Snagging fish isn’t fishing 🤦🏻♂️
Eh I got one yo-Zuri today
Actually have two
I get 3
Snook like them here in Florida
