Not only did I spare him, making him stay in my cult forever since he’s immortal, I also took it a step further. I married him. Now he’s the eternal spouse to a lamb that runs a goofy ass cult that does nothing violent amongst its followers. No sacrifices, no fight pit, no using followers for money or anything else. I think that right there is the worst fate imaginable for this man lmfao

Nice touch to the fate of turning him into a follower: He comes with an "Immortal" trait that disables aging. Which means not only is his fate to serve, it is to do so for all eternity unless the lamb wills otherwise. Otherwise, kinda wish there more to the crowns. They are featured prominently as the focus of worship, in the early trailer suggested as the one speaking advice and seem sorta "alive", but nope, just merely an accessory on the bishops and a tool for you.
This is one of those games where I legit don't care about the ending/story as much, but I do care about taking care of my village and building. So that's pretty awesome.
Perhaps the crowns will be the focus of the later DLC?
ya he died in my playthough, no sickness. He still died to aging. I don't know why.

The game is suffering from a multitude of bugs. Most notably in the form of things not updating properly, like a new item or trait not actually being used/working or quests auto-failing the moment you accept them. for which the solution is to fully restart the game.
The game does have a roadmap so who knows. There will probably be loads more content to come

See, at the beginning at the game he gives you new life under the condition you start a cult for him. So I agreed to the sacrifice cuz that’s the whole point of the cult

I seriously wonder how he didn't see that one coming. Like, ok, you save the lamb guy from death. Cool. But then you just turn around and make him die for you anyway? The only reason he agreed to you in the first place was because he didn't want to die. He's only loyal to you because you brought him back to life. What'd you think was going to happen once you took that away?
I decided to spare him and be my work slave for all eternity and the best part I gave him the moon necklace, so he can work and worship me all day long without having a break!

I actually really love the idea of Kill vs Spare with The One Who Waits. I'd honestly really like if when you defeat the other Bishops, they get added as Immortal followers too. Unlike others, though, they have their own unique unchangeable forms that you can't get naturally. On top of that, they speak like themselves still.
Imagine that, an Evil vs Good ending. An Evil ending where you go through sacrificing followers and killing the Bishops and claiming their hearts, and a Good ending where you make your followers happy, don't sacrifice them, or intimidate them or anything, and you recruit the Bishops. Dialogue could even change.
If you kill Leshy the second one goes: "I will not be slain like Leshy!"
If you save Leshy they go "You may have manipulated Leshy, but my will remains strong!"
Now I'm upset this isn't canon.
To make it more meaningful, if you do ended up sparing the 4 bishop, you wouldn't get their beating hearts. Meaning you will be unable to unlock new abilities, thus making you need to actually sacrifice some convenience to do a pacifist run.

A cycle of being saved by a deity, betraying the deity, and becoming a deity, but then you get a follower and your follower betrays you and rinse and repeat
I feel if you don't go around demanding sacrifices all the time you can probably get away with your follower not wanting to betray you.

No way..You just solved more part of the lore. I’ve never noticed this, even though I came across the cat lady and stated that her two kits were taken by Narinder
being able to use the resurrection ritual on slain enemies would be a cool addition and let this idea happen.
Wish you could revive them and either return them to their mother or outright recruite them, like imagine instead of being the right and left hand men for Narinder they serve that purpose but for you

@@thename2138 Dunno if they are brainwashed, more like raised by him? Since the mother cat you can speak to and buy stuff from mentions her two children, i.e. Aym and Baal respectively, were given up to the One Who Waits Below, when they were just babies.
Honestly, I already knew all the tips from the One Who Waits are suspicious as heck. So I do the opposite (no sacrifice, no cannabalism, no fight pit, no killing the elders, etc)
I need to try that. The real goal seems to be to have a peaceful village without the murder.

I think getting a decoration for killing the one who waits is kind of an insult to players who are on an evil play through. I mean it’s something that’s nice to have but getting an immortal follower that never ages to do whatever you say is definitely better than a decoration.
i was very dissapointed that i didnt get a trophy when i spared him. i made this whole thing with the other 4 trophies and a spot in the center for the 5th
Considering followers are just a consumable/convertable resource I have to disagree with you.
By the time I finished the game, I had everything in the buildings tree unlocked and all but one of the weapon/spell upgrades unlocked. Aside from keeping your followers happy and alive and facilitating progress in these trees... what use are they? I guess I can use them to revive if I die in a run, but you can't spend too much time doing a run without your cult getting mad at you and leaving eventually, sooo....

i think how his voice goes from demonic to soft, little, and squeaky is rlly cute
They now have voicelines from their original forms -- as of the new update. All of the bosses (excluding Heket) have their normal versions' voicelines, just pitched higher. (Meanwhile, Heket's follower version's voicelines are lower pitched -- a random little detail really showing how having basically no throat has affected her.)
The Squid boss was legitimately harder because the shmuping was way more over the top in that fight than this one.

The squid was one of the easiest for me. The spider I thought was hardest.
To be fair though I struggled the most with the frog butt that was because of a glitch that made me have to fight it a second time.

My first playthrough, I struggled against Heket because of the damn flies that would always hit me, and way too many little frogs. But I think Shamura is definitely the hardest. They move SO fast so you have very little time to react, not to mention if you have a shitty weapon/curse.

I was curious if giving him the crown just killed you and ended the game. Kinda nice to see that it does. It would have been disappointing if it was another one of those things where they just lead you to the same ending.
But does it delete your entire save game once you return him the crown?
@@HarmonyBunny No it doesn't. you just get kicked back to the main menu and you can just choose your save and try again.

I prefer the sword myself. It just feels so well balanced between speed, strength, and reach. In big fights I just end up doing much better with the sword than with anything else, especially the dagger.
Imo, sword is the best weapon and hammer is the worst, and axe, gauntlets and dagger are very mediocre, especially gauntlets
@@ListNein For me gauntlets were the best weapon possible. Way better reach than a sword and almost the same speed.
I'd day axes had best mobility combined with dps, swords were good for poking, but I really disliked gauntlets and daggers. Hammers were okay.
I'm a hammer user cuz i like the trade-off of speed for damage and i played the game long enough to remember the damn length the enemy lunges into when they attack, so i can just bait out their attacks, step back, prepare hammer, BONK
for me it's whatever has godly trait. Unless it's the 3rd zone. I hate hammer in the 3rd zone and wouldn't pick it there even with godly. All other weapons are fine as well as hammer anywhere else

i wish they made some sort of animated cutscenes for what happens after each ending instead of just giving us text on a screen but who knows maybe that's too big of an ask.
im hoping theres addons lots of ways it could go as of right now though yea refusing just lets you keep playing and i guess accept lets you go back to refuse theres nothing else after though just collecting all the decorations and skins .
Imagine if it'd be, like, a set of pictures that it scrolls through that tell an epilogue of what happens. Probably narrated by Clauneck, and it'd have pics showing either the Lamb going on to lead their cult (with One Who Waits sulking in the background while sweeping up), or the One Who Waits using the Crown to take over the world of whatever.

Maybe for the DLC they could do a post-game 'what if' scenario/timeline. A different start to the story where you are the true Red Crown the Bishops feared and already a god, being post-game and all. Learn more about the power of the crowns, different versions of the same dungeons, new Follower Forms, Tarot Cards, Locations, Side Quests, and after defeating the 4 Bishops you recruit them like you can The One Who Waits (with unique Follower Forms of their species with the Immortal Trait). The One Who Waits is no longer a former Bishop or false idol but an insane monster forgotten by time, having a much more fitting, difficult final boss and as reward you get what you didn't choose the first time along with a new thing. Maybe do some more twists where Ratau, Baal, & Aym are your servants in this new reality too and have their own Side Quests etc.
I definitely like the idea of this, idk what the DLC and stuff is gonna look like, but I think it's gonna be cool.
You nearly predicted the new DLC, holy.
The real DLCs are just things that add extra follower forms, decoration items and all sorts of stuff to your Cult. The Relics of the Old Faith update is pretty close to that -- with the post-game content almost feeling like an entire DLC, hence why many people called it a DLC at first -- even though it's free and literally comes with the game. Here's what you predicted and became the case and what didn't.
+ You can fight the final boss again, thanks to Purgatory, unlocked after freeing Leshy. Purgatory allows you to fight every boss with the Boss Rush once you get to later levels -- even The One Who Waits. You can choose whatever fleece you want to go with during said runs through either the Dungeon Gauntlet or Boss Rush levels.
+ The four dungeons have new looks to their backgrounds -- being purged versions of said areas, unlocked by sacrificing a follower above a certain level of loyalty -- you do lose them forever, though.
+ There are new natural follower forms added with the update.
+ You can now recruit the Bishops of the Old Faith into your Cult -- they have different side quests that lead to you obtaining a relic that will help you on crusades.
+ ??? gives you a trophy of The One Who Waits if you spared him or The One Who Waits himself, just without the Immortal trait if you murdered him.
+ Baal and Aym can be added to your Cult now -- they don't really have side quests for you to do, you can reunite them with their mother, though.
+ There are indeed new tarot cards. There are also Relics and new combat mechanics, such as heavy attacks.
- You cannot have Ratau as a follower.
- The Bishops do not have the Immortal traits, making them vulnerable to reach old age unless given a Golden Skull Necklace, which gives them said trait.
- There are no new locations.
- You don't really learn much about the Crowns' powers -- if anything.
- The time takes place AFTER beating The One Who Waits -- and you are the Lamb. No one else.
There you go, it's pretty cool that we got this update, however. We just need people to stop calling it a DLC since it comes with the game, completely free.
Now I wonder what the Mid-2023 Update Expansion II will bring. I really hope we get advanced follower customization, which could be being able to choose the hex codes of your Followers' coloration, maybe new forms, and quite possibly new traits and stuff like that -- since one of the things listed there was "more customization".

I put all the trophies and the mushroom altar in the central part of my base, it looked great. But the thing that made it complete was the jail just beneath it holding The One Who Waits captive. Knowing he'd never die and serve as an eternal reminder of my victory over god itself was all the sweeter.
Ooh, unsleeping, undying service seemed like such an obvious direction that I never even considered eternal imprisonment.

This is like a kirby game, characters and other designs seem cute and all but at some point all that goes down the drain and you're left with whatever god-like master of death the game presents you, and all that defeated by a little pink ball or a freaking demon sheep
It's a pretty good game that could have been alot more, felt like there were some cut things but what came out was still good. i eagerly await updates.
Yessss instead of 100s of decorations, you don´t really need to use, they could have expanded the tech tree with more tiers.

@@insertinsults4567 there was definitely cut content that may show up in patches dlc. When food rots it's mentions food storage (before patches), which is not in the building tree.

Given, was only playing on Normal, but I cleared every boss on my first attempt and cleared most without taking a hit. Will probably Newgame+ on hardest difficulty if it becomes an achievement.
@@cryptosguns the difficulty doesn't really do much to the enemies to be honest. They just have more hp and do more damage, including the bosses. In practice it just makes the fights take longer.
What it does make a lot harder is the cult management, they lose faith and get sick all the time lol

I'm not sure why they decided to make the fight against The Big Bad in this game so easy but it was honestly a little disappointing just how easy it actually was. The first time I fought the 3rd and 4th bishops were significantly harder than The One Who Waits
Kallamar was more difficult for me than him
I think it depends on your build and the way you play, I played a tank build and just spam clicked the 3rd and 4th bishop. I tried the same thing with The One Who Waits and beat him with half a heart left because I didn’t expect to fight him twice.
This is what happens if your ego does not match your strength.
Well i think i have a theory on that...The other bishops had their hats which maybe gave them more power to wield against the lamb. While the one who waits gave you their's to take the others out. Sooo maybe with him not wielding the hat he has lesser power so maybe that's why he was easier?

The starting poem gave away this fight to me. The phrase of a crown only sitting on one brow, and yet you get it at the very start of the game? Hmmmm 🤔 wonder what that could be

The fifth boss is way more easier than other 4 bosses to me.
i had the opposite of course i broke the game with the glass canon robes and the boss fight puts you back in the normal ones .

Most of the main bosses didnt give me that much trouble, the 4th one gave me the most trouble but tbh some regular bosses are way harder then the bishops

That building is for the grave the level 4 doctrine you chose either natural or grave stone

Sad that there's no way to just roll back your save to check the other ending. I picked "refuse" because of the "ARE YOU SUUUUUUURE?" message pops up after choosing compliance, and the boss fight was actually really easy, but I would've liked to go back and see the other ending for myself. :
Well... you could make a copy of your save before you make the choice. That is what I am planning on doing

I went with refusing to be sacrificed by default. Good thing i did cause the other ending is dull . I mean you really think i do all your dirty work and let myself to be sacrificed just so you can party hard? did he honestly not see lambs betrayal coming?
P.s Is there a special ending if you don`t sacrifice/murder any of your followers? The one who waits mentions the amount you did sac` after killing the 4th bishop . Kinda sus, huh.
My brain thinks that it would be a good idea if the followers were cheering you on
I turned him into my follower, turned his colour pink, renamed him from "The one who waits" to "Dick" and
then I went and sent him off to Hentai land where he will remain forever. I don't care if he's immortal, I can always
revive followers who I actually like through necromancy and I have plenty of bones to spare.
I also have to say, I think stranger things influenced Niander's final monster design because it looks like a demogorgon
I like the detail that when you accept being sacrificed the lamb loses the crown and its fleece in the end credits

I guess this isn't the real final boss, just a coward with too much power. The devil fox of the lake told you about this. That explain why this fight is much easy than others. And... you know other Pj with a power crown, he talk you in many random encounters before go away flying.

I know in the last ending you get sacrificed but I don’t know if it’s just me but it looks like he’s just playing with his food rather than doing a sacrifice.
Since he’s immortal we could basically turn his life into a living hell
