- This woolly guy isn’t sheepish when it comes to bringing in more Cult of the Lamb followers. He can’t be: whenever The Lamb leaves camp, the goal is always to bring back at least one more Cult of the Lamb follower. It’s doubly important when your one true love can leave this world at a moment’s notice. Of course… that’s when you just quickly have yourself a Cult of the Lamb marriage. Look, when you’ve got the power, you can pretty much do what you want.
The thing is that some supporters can turn nasty when they think your Cult of the Lamb is poop. They might just start calling it Cult of the Lamb Poop… and then want to eat poop and… it becomes a whole thing. Then you’ve got yourself a Cult of the Lamb dissenter, and no one needs that; not I, not ewe. It’s time for a mass Cult of the Lamb sacrifice, baby!

Tbh the way the cult members are ridiculously dependant on you makes you feel like you're running a kindergarten instead of a cult.
And they get upset if you won't let them eat excrement.
The thing is cult of the lamb's world runs on cults being the norm. Cults run on dependence and people being uneducated outside of what they deem is necessary. It's not that they are stupid... it's that they are so dependent on the Lamb they will do NOTHING without the Lambs permission. Absolutely nothing. You build a farm? They will farm. You build a Janitors Closet? They will clean. They need permission to do everything and that is extreme dependence.
I thinks that's a little bit the point
i'd rather deal with a kindergarten, then deal with adult cult members who can't fend,eat,bathe, or do anything for themselves other then pooping

I'm sure picking a characterization and voice for The Lamb was not decided lightly, but in retrospect, "slightly older Dipper Pines" was 100% the right call
I'd really have to agree. If they picked something too cutesy, it'd probably be annoying and jokes wouldn't land, but if it was too serious, you wouldn't take anything the Lamb said seriously. They really did manage to pick the perfect voice

The fact that lambert actually cares about his marriages is something I never expected, especially how they said that they would deeply missed Tobias. I honestly thought they would let another die and remarry again.
Yeah, the fact that she even mentioned that the dress is her size(despite everyone having the same looking bodies) suggests Lambert puts as much care into planning his future marriages as he does everything else in the cult

I love how you can't actually use the mushrooms to make food in the game, but the actual use for them in game does the exact opposite of what happens in the animation.
A bowl really does make a difference huh.
Helps that that the leadups to ingesting the mushrooms are different. Here it is an argument with Lambert followed by a meal while in game it is a religious ritual and thus more controlled
In fairness Sozo demonstrates quite well how the mushrooms can make you paranoid and violent. The ritual likely guides the reaction of those who consume it into something more positive.
I like that the leader, despite how quickly the marriage happened, seems to genuinely care about his wife.
He never says her name in the whole skit. Which is weird, considering he adresses everyone else by name.

"I was able to guide them to the right path" The answer is that, yes, they/them is used for groups of people, but it is also very commonly used when you don't know a person's gender. Think of when a family member answers a phone with an unknown person, and after hanging up, you ask "What did they say?" or phrases such as: "When a child cries, I hug them." If you revisit conversations with people, it is positively littered with such examples and is referred to as the "Singular They".
Almost all the npcs in Cult of the Lamb don't have an outright gender, and some, like Eligos, are quite unusual and ambiguous, making they/them more than understandable.

It's not about picking the best partner, but about comitting to your choice and doing everything you can to make it work. If both of you go into it with this mindset, it is very unlikely to not work out. :)

I was kind of prepared for The Lamb to go through, like, four spouses in this. But the fact that once he announced that The Cat was his wife, it was like they had been married for a while and it looked like a legit and healthy relationship. It's really cute and sweet.

I love how the Red Crown closes it's eye when Lambert hugs his wife at 7:13. In the deep end, he's not the heartless Crown Narinder thinks he is. Also, i agree with all of you guys, this should be made in a series! Mashed, Lambert, please listen to our prayers!

I actually REALLY liked that you made the lamb loving to his wife, even though the title of marriage tends to be meaningless in the game. It was really cute and honestly made it better!
What's funnier/disturbing is that they are talking like they've been married all this time and not just that morning. Which means, it's either the memories of the previous spouse transfers to the new one or that all of them are stalking the current spouse and just follow what they've been doing until they die.

I love the detail that Yuki has the exact same design (even down to the pink bow) as the follower in the official console trailer, she is even exited when about to be sacrificed just like the original.
the guy who voiced like 50% of the cast has some insane range with his voice. Went from deep to 3 different flavors of normal and all the way to Morty. I respect it and shall now scour the internet for more of his work.
Look up YuGiOh DX Abridged. He voiced Jaiden, and probably a few others. He's done work for a few others, including Team Four Star.

The concept of a bunch of cult members taking mushrooms and accidentally realizing they’re in a cult and not in control of their lives is extremely interesting, I love it and I can’t wait to see more.
The unfortunate truth is some cults have used psychedelic drugs to help control their members. The Manson Family comes to mind, but there are other examples.

This video made me want the game, and on Christmas my friend surprised me with it. I had no idea what the gameplay is because i intentionally chose not to find out what the game is about beyond this video. But after playing a few hours... I'll tell you what, the gameplay pretty much is what you see in this.
If you like this humor and art style, and you want to play a roguelite and tycoon game hybrid (sounds weird i know but it's great) then you will love it.

That was the way I did it in my first run. I really wanted to get the lamb married to a cat, which I renamed Ms Fortune (just a personal preference). Sadly, I had to kill a cult member to get back the double lifespan necklace and put it on her instead. XD

Don't forget ToWW outright showering faith (it occurs to me I don't actually know what the name for the points you get from sermons) for all them sacrifices. Might take a bit to rebuild but we're going to have new weapons! new curses! more hearts! :D

Well he has two survivors- the cat and the dog people. So there's a good chance of returning. That and one or two crusades. HOPEFULLY the cat can actually freaking feed the two of them.

The announcement that Lamb started the sermon immediately after coming back from Anura is a very subtle joke and extremely relatable to anyone who's played the game.

@@dutchlinde56 because in the game, if you go on crusade, then your followers will somehow lose faith so when you get back, somebody would be a dissenter, in my experience
@@dutchlinde56 The short answer is that it tends to be the first thing players do when they get back from a raid, and it's not quite clear why. Yes, the cooldown timer is pretty much guaranteed to be full by the time you get back from a successful raid, but so are a number of other more pressing tasks. And players tend to ignore the cooldown if it runs down while they're still in town, despite an explicit pop-up message when it happens. So it's sort of one of those idiosyncratic player behaviors, like bunnyhopping.
@@dutchlinde56 Well, after a crusade, you've either lost faith for whatever reason, things regarding the church are off cooldown, and/or you got some goodies you want to use. Sermons also give you material for unlocking perks. Most people also place their churches right at the entrance to your cult, so it's the first thing you see and are reminded you need to work with. These are the reasons I can think of.
I've never done my sermons after crusades. I do them at the beginning of the day before going on one lol

Heket is indeed she. Shamura is they, Kalamar and Leshy are he, and Narinder has been addressed as both he and they. There are also a handful of instances where a follower will offer a quest to find a sibling, thus far I've seen them referred to as brother or sister, think the pronouns might be he or she in those instances but my memory isn't always the best😅

This was both hilarious in the characterization of the lamb’s relationship with their followers and really serious with their relationship with those they choose to be their spouse and their reaction to their followers turning against them.
Yeah, honestly for the marriage thing to start as a bit of a joke with the whole "Alright, you are the next spouse now", both are shown to care about eachother and the cult.

Funnily enough the one spouse I got In the game was one that seemed competent and was the one I felt was Irreplaceable "Okay so you took my Cult, am I supposed to- WAIT IS THAT BARBATOS, I'LL SLAUGHTER YOU!" even better Is the fact he was one of the mini bosses you fight and recruit

One thing about this animation that I really like and that no one else seems to have pointed out is that when Tobias's corpse is shown, Lambert is animated like a Family Guy character for the rest of the scene

I believe it's safe to say this is the most detailed, gameplay focused & frankly amazing animation involving the Cult of the lamb. Goes to show, this could be show worthy for adult swim.
Iunno how further it could go than it already did here. Maybe there is enough material for like a 10ep miniseries...

I can see at least 3-4 seasons. Each Bishop still exists and there’s already numerous interesting characters that haven’t been seen in this short + the unique locations. Cult shenanigans can occur such as the bishops enacting curses or followers going against the lamb.
A 10 episode miniseries I don’t think would do the story justice, but I don’t think a 10 season long with 4 movies simpsons style ain’t it either.
@@roland4618 eh... Short seasons maybe. Like, three eps per season, bringing us up to 12. Like, there could be, roughly, a village ep, a gathering ep, and a boss ep.
Maybe a final one for the final boss I guess.
It'd also depend on how long you decide the episodes to be. But the game's story just isn't that long, and while there is a lot of fun nonsense in your village, this short already essentially captured the vibe along with a ton of specific details. Can only draw out those things for so much

@@kymberlytowns8583 been a while so i dont remember, but i know you can do the mushroom ritual and have less than 100% happiness and stuck at about 70%, since i forgot i had them mushroom’d and tried to do a bonfire and it didnt increase

I really feel like the lamb is a well written and kinda sad character in this.
In game the lamb is the last of his kind as the lambs were all killed off to prevent a prophecy. So any family the lamb likely had before is dead.
Here he treats the cult like the family he lost or never had and shows he cares about them in many ways. He’s still a cult leader and gets mad at them but he still cares. He especially shows this with how loving he is to his wife. Even when all the members went crazy you can tell killing them was definitely his last resort as he and his wife both tried to talk them out of it. The lamb even made one desperate final attempt to regain authority before killing them which he only did because they were cornered and out of options.
The final scene feels sad to me as he not only lost his cult but most of his family as well. Especially with the way he holds his wife’s hand as she is all he has left
Besides that awesome animation probably my favorite from this channel which is saying something

@@nolamo1496 In game, yes. He is horrible. The way they're written here, the Lamb is genuinely trying to make their flock a family. Yes it's a cult and he uses cultish methods. But he does genuinely want everyone to be happy and safe. In game, I would murder someone instantly for turning on me. Put the literal fear of God in them. Here, the Lamb clearly goes out of his way not to hurt anyone until he is backed into a literal corner.
He also seems to love his ex-husband Tobias sincerely enough that he is appalled when his Cult hasn't even buried him aswell as giving him a brief eulogy.

I love how the Lamb has a voice that sounds a little bit like Dipper from Gravity Falls, given the Cult of the Lamb developers declared an animation of Lambert doing the Lamby Lamby dance to be canon. The casting, dialogue, animation, and humor is fantastic, and I'd love if Cult of the Lamb got a full animated series like this, this is great!
